Hello everybody,
I tried out the new weapons of the A10CII. The APKWS in particular are a bit strange. My tests have shown that the M282 is a bit weak in terms of penetration on a single one. And the M151 has almost no explosive effect.
link times 4 TACVIEW files that better describe the problem.
Test 1 full run
1. Single M282 vs widely dispersed infantry = 0 kills (as expected)
2. Singel M282 vs. Cluster of GAZ-2975 Tigr = 2 kills (correct would be 1 kill)
3. Singel M282 vs T-55 = 0 kill regardless of whether from the front, side or back. (unexpectedly, the missile should pack a T-55, right?)
4. Singel M282 vs BMP-3 = 2 kills a hit from the side or from behind kills him. Front hits have no effect. (ok)
Test 1 full run
1. Single M151 vs widely distributed infantry = 0 kills (unexpected)
2. Singel M151 vs. Cluster of GAZ-2975 Tigr = 1 kills (ok but "no kill" would also be ok)
3. Singel M151 vs T-55 = 0 kill (absolutely OK)
4. Singel M151 vs BMP-3 = 0 kills (ok)
Test 2 infantry furball
1.Single M282 vs close-knit infantry = 29 kills (just wrong, right?)
Test 2 infantry furball
1.Single M151 vs close-knit infantry = 18 kills (why less than the M282?)
My bottom line:
The M151 is actually almost good. However, the splash damage is a little too low.
The M282 has a much too large explosion radius and a little too little penetrative power .......
At the current state of affairs. I would never pack an M151 and always use the M282. The M282 is the better choice in EVERY situation ...
