  1. I love this one too! I hear it often enough because DLC is like cheating.... seriously... why is it NOT on the Hornet? :)
  2. Can also confirm this. Was on just dogfights server with a friend flying and struggled with this pretty heavily in BFM/Guns only. Loving everything so far though!
  3. To add, you are also able to stick your head through the glass too. I was able to stand up and get one heck of a view!
  4. Just as a heads up, REMOVE "Hunter of Lost Souls (Remastered)" from your music list if you are a YouTuber and don't want the video claimed by AdRev. This song is a part of the Parallel Lives album that was published by AdRev and thus they will claim it (ran into this issue). According to Meteor on FB, the rest of his content (aside from songs on the Parallel Lives Album) are free to use in monetized videos.
  5. I don't disagree, but you have to remember this is a game at its core and while you enjoy hyper realism, others may not care to do it by the book and just want to enjoy the game. On busy servers like Through the Inferno, I'd prefer people with little experience tank with the AP on if it gets them done tanking quicker so the line of people waiting can enjoy their game too. As I pointed out above, it's also fantastic at isolating the multitasking required to tank safely and can make the learning experience faster and less stressful. It helped my throttle work ten fold and now I'm focusing on doing it without AP on because I feel more confident enough in my throttle management to focus on joy stick work.
  6. I can't wait! Going to be a lot of features of my YouTube channel devoted to F-14 gameplay while I master the turkey! :D Thanks Heatblur for all your hard work!
  7. It's a pretty good "cheat". I actually released a video yesterday talking about this very thing on my YT channel (I'm still new to DCS YouTubing so go gently! :P): Might not be the "correct" way, but it is A way to do it and in the grand scheme of things, DCS is what you make it. If you are like me and need to break things down into components to better understand them, using the AA to num up the controls is an exceptionally handy tool that allows you to better focus on throttle manipulation.
  8. Awesome!!!! :joystick: Maddoging an AIM-120 means you launch it without a radar lock by "bore sighting" it like you would an AIM-9. It goes active when it leaves the rail and locks onto whatever the radar sees first. Useful if your F/A-18C's radar is AWOL while trying to lock onto a target coaltitude and closing with you... it really only works within 10nmi.
  9. I think a large part of what we are seeing with the close range shots is the 7G limit that was put on the missile while the motor is burning to give it the correct loft behavior. I remember HB mentioning that the way DCS's missiles work, to get proper loft behavior they had to put that 7G limit in place or the missile wouldn't loft at all. I think it was in their white paper on the Phoenix? It'd be nice if ED would give missiles a more accurate missile track. It's ESPECIALLY telling on the longer range shots how the Phoenix bleeds energy almost immediately after the loft and doesn't track down from the loft altitude without pulling insane G and losing all of it's energy when a more gentle descent would retain energy better.
