This is way obsolete. Go here: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Export_1_0_1 Cheers, Colin

I also would like to see some info on this. Cheers, Colin

Yes, I've done this for the Targeting Display Control panel. The board reads the pots for TV brightness and contrast and HMS and sends a value of 0 - 255 for each. This gets converted in lua to 0 to 1. It sends the value only when it changes. A couple of things to consider: I'm using the 5V line from the USB port on my laptop and it seems to be a little flakey. I would get a constant stream of data being sent without touching the pots. A 2200 cap on the interface board quieted it down considerably. Plus the board now sends the value only when it changes by more than 1. It's configurable by command so I can increase this if I want. Now I don't get any data sent unless I actually turn the pot. When I do turn the pot though I get lots of data. Originally I had lua reading just one input value per frame, but it would get hopelessly backed up when I cranked the pots. So now it reads until there's nothing left to read, each frame. A side effact of this is at startup all the switches align at once. If you look at the WCS movie, the two switches align right away. If lua was reading one value per frame, there would have been a few frames between the two switches setting, which I actually thinks looks better. I'm still thinking about ways to cut down on the amount of data sent as the pots are turned. Cheers, Colin

Ok I just voted. http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/features/52083/Voodoo-Extreme-2009-Readers-Choice-Awards/p5/c1 -
Perfect! Get the wife to roll it up to the pit in the morning and help you get in, then roll it away, then roll it back when it's time for dinner.

Well, londo I don't think I have many secrets left, except for one which I'll share with you now: I buy lots of clipboards at the dollar store. Cheers, Colin

Thanks for the comments everybody. I really appeciate it. I'll try to answer some questions. Construction: I drew up the top layer or "facia" with a paint type program using the panel in the manual as a guide, and then I had the photo shop laminate it onto a piece of 1/8 inch fiberboard. They cut it to size but I had to cut out the holes. The mechanical layers have all the switches, circuit board, etc. attached and are the same material . Electronics: there's a PIC16F688 (14 pin) for the switches, and a PIC16F886 (28 pin) for the displays. Aside from a mosfet to drive the transmit line, and some resistors, that's the sum total of the electronics. Interface: It's a 5 volt serial line. You can see the 4-wire cable at the start. When I plug it in I'm actually plugging it in to the cable coming out of the Targeting Display Conrol panel, which is also online (which is why the Shkval goes funny at the mission start). The interface is running at 9600 which doesn't seem like much but which is plenty fast enough, apparently :-) Cheers, Colin

Hi, In the past I've used clear mailing labels for this sort of thing. Cheers, Colin

No, I don't think that one matters for the WSC displays. You do need AC power for the 7-segment displays though. Cheers, Colin

Hi. This issue has to do with changing stations while the gun is active (I said it was obscure). 1. Load up with rockets and missiles. 2. Select inner stations. 3. Fire off all rockets. 4. Select outer stations. 5. Activate gun. 6. Select inner stations (top row lamps go off). 7. Deactivate gun. Now missile weapon code is displayed. Count is blank. Top lamps still off. Cheers, Colin Also happens with no rockets. 1. Load up with missiles. 4. Select outer stations. 5. Select gun. 6. Select inner stations (top row lamps go off). 7. Deselect gun.

Hi, Has anyone got SetCommand to work? performClickableAction works for me but not SetCommand. From the wiki: dev:SetCommand(command_id,command_value) -- send command to device dev:performClickableAction(command_id,command_value) -- send command to device Thanks guys, Colin

thank you thank you I want you to know that this is going on my shelf just as soon as I can get it engraved.

export instruments to another screen / pc

Fantastic. -
Now that is a beautiful thing.

["Kh-25ML (AS-10 Karen)"] = weaponNC

Got it.

I probably just misunderstood the intent. What caught my eye was that Prepare takes me right to the cockpit ready to fly. And Fly takes me to the briefing screen just before the flight.
-
Sorry if this has been discussed. The results of the Prepare mission and Fly mission choices in the Flight menu of the Mission Builder seem to be switched.

Single Hardpoint/Pylon Selection???
PanelBuilder replied to Niehorst's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well, you can load up with 2 (or 3 or 4) different types of rockets; they will unload one pod at a time. Or put the same type on inner and outer (one pod on each). -
It's been pointed out that that's where it is in reality. However, the real pilot can centre it on his view just by looking up, or by staying focused on the same point and tilting his head down just a little bit. Otherwise it's out of the way. I can achieve the same thing with the top bar on the frame of my glasses. Normally I don't even notice it's there. But if I keep focus on a point, and tilt my head down a little, I can bring the cross bar right across the target. To simulate this we'd have to have inputs for eye movement in addition to head movement. There's eye tracking hardware available but I don't know of any sim that imlements eye tracking on top of head tracking.

The thing is, the real pilot can centre it on his view just by looking up, or by staying focused on the same point and tilting his head down just a little bit. Otherwise it stays out of the way.

Thank you!

Did we ever figure out how to reset the snap views to default?
