As mentioned i'm running a 670 and i normally get 16-17 with the old model.. the latest version has improved slightly but only you guys with better graphic cards will know if it's better for you or not. I'm getting 20 + with the latest version.. Honestly not sure what else i can do. I have reduced the size which makes a difference. Stay Tuned!! I will pack and release the latest version today as a BETA! Still some cosmetics that need to be done but it functions pretty good otherwise.. This version is without the S70 also.
  2. Hey Sleipner, what is the issue your having? I added lod1 and 2 as a test.. Try removing them and see if that helps. What i noticed is most of the DCS Ships by ED use the same lods. Hopefully that helps. Toni, i created the Belknap and a knox class frigate already but I am still working on them. I was stationed onboard the USS Bowen FF-1079 so i will commission it. I haven't seen any news on the Forrestal. Do you know when they will release it?

  4. So the San Antonio's new file size is 60mbs.. I'm getting 28-30 FPS now in DCS. I finish her up now and get her out to you all!!
  5. Updated San Antonio is coming along. I have reduced the size of the file pretty good but now i have to go through and complete the UVW of a lot of separate objects so it may take some time. Stay Tuned!
  6. Hey Gone1Crazy, so something i'm learning is the more detailed the model is the greater the polys will be. I have a tool called PolyCruncher. So i took the original model which is 128 MBs and i reduced the polys to 10%. So when i exported it and the .edm file is 10 mbs vice 100+ mbs. It does lose some appearance but it's not bad. I'm using a GTX 670 and I get 30 FPS in DCS vice the 15 or 16 i normally get. So I have uploaded the original USS San Antonio file to the first page under the original San Antonio file. Back up your original San Antonio .edm and just replace it this one. I'm interested in hearing what FPS you all get with a 10 mb .edm. Keep in mind once i start adding to the model the file size will grow but it will not be a lot. Let me know what you guys think!! Thanks.
  7. The LCU is #6 on page One.. Just drop the file in your saved games/tech folder.
  8. The link for the LCU is posted on page one!! There are three versions. The original version, no flag, and a low polygon version. I noticed the low polygon version performs better in DCS than the original. As mentioned in an earlier post. There are known issues with collisions. Enjoy!!
  9. LCU release today!! The FWD & AFT ramps lower by rotating the mouse aft. Also, if you left-click you can shoot the guns.. The LCU does not come with weapons. As mentioned there are known issues with collisions on deck but I can't see them to correct it. Also, there's an invisible collision on the ramp so driving onboard is not possible. There's not another model in DCS that I can study to fix this issue. THE LCU IS NOT PERFECT but a good addition. One thing about it. I create all my models the same way so honestly not sure what's causing the low FPS rates! Stay Tuned!!
  10. Hey Guys, sorry I been away! I got distracted by creating 3d model aircraft. I would like you alls opinion on FPS. I know all of this is based on your PC equipment though. What's the avg FPS you get while playing DCS? So i ran some test and it appears I only get 25 FPS but i'm using a GTX 670 graphics card. Santa will be bringing me another one :). We've ran some test on the latest version of San Antonio and it's low. Trying to figure out whether it's the model i'm creating or DCS. Today i will release the LCU i created! Known issues! collisions on deck are not correct and i'm not sure why. I can't see them so it's hard to correct it
  11. Also, JU-88 doesn't always deploy the torpedoes.. it will circle the Chinese submarine a few times and then return to base!
  12. San Antonio Update! She is almost done. I will work on the Hull numbers next.
  13. Hey, I don't have any plans for long hulls. I know some other guys that do create the oldies but not sure if they will bring them to DCS. If I had the time I push a model every week for the next 6 months but I just don't have time. San Antonio is coming along really well. I haven't a lot of time lately but I'm getting her done.
  14. Hello Marroux, i'm completly redoing the San Antonio because of the large file size. Hey Looney, I try to choose royalty free if possible. What I like about Cgtrader is you can contact the moddler and in most cases, they don't mind what you do with their model. I actually got the San Antonio from Cgtrader!!
  15. The S_70B Helicopter is a static model under structures! You can place it on the deck of any ship you like. Someone liked it so I decided to release it. Working Textures on the San Antonio!!
  16. Hello Oban, yes, it is doable. I have this model also. I started working on it a while back but I didn't finish it. It would be a little time consuming because of the VLS Launchers. I wasn't too motivated to create it because DCS already has a version in-game.

  18. Progress!!!! I added a welldeck to her and she's less than half the file size she use to be.
  19. So i figured out the Issue. San Anotnio's file size is just too big so i will work on another model and try to reduce the size as much as possible. May take some time so please patient! Will keep you all posted.. I'm nearly complete with the USS Kidd so you may see her sooner than later.
  20. Thanks Guys for the feedback. Let me take a look at the suspect Collision model. I forgot to mention the static helo was in structures.. I'm trying to get it into helicopters. Also, the LCU is working but there's an invisible collision at the bow. So there's no way to drive onboard. Still working the issue!
  21. Oh, i forgot to mention i found some hull numbers finally that are Realistic so I will be adding them to the Kidd.
  22. Hey Rusty, it runs fine on mine and i have 32 gigs also and gtx 670. Also, I run Nvidia on performance and not let the program decide. Another thing you can try is turn your settings down on DCS. I run mine at medium. If you run it at High it may cause lag. You know i did a test with just no collision model but everything falls through.. I also tried just putting a collision on the flight deck but its invisible in game. What i can try is create a double flight deck and add a collision. I ran a lot of scenarios and what i found was if i raised the ship out of the water the statics aligned pretty good. I have multiple collisions that i can let you try if you like. Keep in mind without the collision it may or may not take damage. You are running the new .edm with the new collision right? Let me know and i will pass it on to you. I haven't heard of anyone else having issues yet. Navy, i've been watching Razbam also. I see they have a few ships coming out as well. I don't think DCS will put out anything else in the near future. A lot of those models existed during the 2.5.4 version and i still have them.

  24. Hey Guys, I've placed the link for the updated San Anotonio. I've found that static objects will float in some areas on the fligt and not in others. So you may just have to move it fwd or aft. I also included a static S_70B_Seahawk helo that was requested. Let me know how it goes!!
