Yep, same here. Repair + delete shaders and same problem. It is really weird that sone people have performance improvement and other have performance lost.
-
The update has been the problem. Before the update, no problem at all. After the update, this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4424572&postcount=2023

I will try, thanks! :)

I'm starting to believe that whatever problem there was in the first release of v2.5.6 related to performance is again present in this release for some of us. I can see the same problems related with the ilumination that happened then: MDF are blinding with NVG control labels are superbright with NVG City lights too bright TPOD black hot completely useless in the night and more issues related with ilumination. (see attachments)

yes... I've been playing the same way the same OB (-1 sub-version) until the 15th new OB release. No problem with the NVG wednesday morning, problems wednesday afternoon. Night mode MDF, reduced gain, etc... nothing works (of course the "workarround" is to leave both MDFs in menu page, but this is very weird, no one is having the same problem?) It's seems the same problem that when the 2.5.6 version first release months ago. Any one more on steam version on DCS have try this in VR?
-
Yes, for me the stuttering and FPS drops happens in Steam VR too (WMR, steam DCS version). What is more awful is that I have found yesterday that during the first 1-2 minutes after jump into the cockpit, the game is completely unplayable. After that, the freezed video when turn my head around happens many less times. And after 10-15 minutes FPS drop and freezed video is no more. It is like it needs to render things "heavily" at least first time and then, when all is in memory or whatever, all is more fluent. Emmmm, this version of DCS needs to warm up as the mavericks or what? ^_^
-
nope, that's not the problem. The MFD blinds me even when I do not look at them directly. The bright is too intense after the OB update. Same as when the v2.5.6 was released first time months ago. I'm having he same problems that happened with that first relase. And it seems that I am the only one, because everyone seems to have a FPS improvements (I have just the opposite) and no one have complain about the brightness of MFD in the night yet I don't know what is happening
-
Also the MFD in the night are extremely bright again using night vision googles. :(
-
In my case I haven't problems until yesterday (after the improvement of the v2.5.6 months ago, when it goes to the stable too). I was on the OB early afternoon without problem. After the new OB release, I am having all kind of problems with the stuttering images. I have found that it has nothing to do with the FPS rate at any given moment, because I have stutters even in the ME or in the menu, where I have 60-90 FPS. As soon as I turn my head, the stutter begings.
-
Am I the only one having a drastic drop of FPS in VR again? What is worse: when any mission starts, the FPS are completely unstable. If I try to look around, the image stutters and the frames drop to 18fps sometimes. Even sometimes I lost the image for a couple of seconds!!! This behaviour continues for at least 1 minute. Then, it seems to stabilize and I can look around again, but the image sutters a bit sometimes when I turn quickly my headset. Early this same day I was flying my AV-8 without any problem. After the update I have many performance problems with the lost of FPS. In that same mission trying a vertical landing is a pain in the ass with the image stuttering. For me this performance lost in the updates is me most concerning problem in DCS, not the clouds, or if this or that weapon is working (the game is so extend that having issue with a weapon is not a big deal, because you can employ other one of fly another aircraft meanwhile) or if the flow of the fuel when you have a pich of -10º and is monday morning is acurate or nor, or whatever other minor detail. Sorry for the complains, I understood the great work behind the game and the fixes, but I believe the focus must be in this problem, the performance lost affects all the modules.

Holly cow, you are right!!! thanks for the tip. It seems to me that it were not working because, to notice some reduction on gain in the map, you should click at least 20 times in night mode ^_^
-
Hi, Now that MPCD GAIN, NGT and CONT switches are functional, I don't know if this is a bug or it's the way it works in real live, but GAIN switch doesn't work when MPCD is in night mode. The brightness has been reduced a lot in night mode (thanks!), but it will be useful to be able to reduce the GAIN (as it is posible to reduce the CONT) BTW, what's the purpouse of the SYM switch?

I don't know why but, for some reason, for some people the GAU12 pod is not loaded in the first mission as intended. I don't have that problem and I do not know why it happens. The "manual" solution to the problem is edit the "...\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en\The Abkazian War\St0-Intro.miz" file with the mission editor. Then select a payload (2 or 4 sidewinders + GAU12 will do it) and in the Tarawa supplies menu set "unlimited ammo". This will set the initial payload you want, at the begining of the mission. (In the other hand, I am assuming that you have installed the FIX20200607)

Maybe this will help you, or maybe not but, messing around with the tanker the way I do in the video should give you the muscle memory needed to try the AAR. Do not expect to do it in one day but, if you play like this for some days and in the end you are able to do this, a F-18 or a F-16 AAR is a piece of cake. And I ensure you that, when you are just messing around like this trying to push you further and further instead of focusing in the damn basket or boom, you will have more fun. Of course, I'm assuming you have a decent joystick and throttle... otherwise it will be very harder to do.

In my case I have kill the target been nearly 25 - 30nm away from it. How to do it? easy: 1 - Accelerate the F-18 to 500 knots and launch the missile. 2 - Open airbrakes and let me missile goes. 3 - Make a 360º loose turn while the missile continue its trajectory 4 - Follow the missile faaaar away from it 5 - Guide the missile on its terminal stage to the target 6 - Bummm, and you are at 25 - 30nm from the target I'm pretty sure that if you sincronize it better you can remain at 40nm or more when the missile reach its destiny.

Thanks Heclak! I missed the ICLS/TACAN part on the last patches. I will try it. Anyway, the "you'll need to go to the A-4E options menu to turn off the catapult checks" tip, do the trick for the launch with the catapult. So, between the ICLS/TACAN feature, the new layer for the ball, the catapult launch working... the SC is working perfectly with the wonderfull A-4e you have build!! (except the part when the aircraft go through the carrier crew... but, as they are ghost for now, who cares ^_^) You guys are the best of the best.

All the fixes have been removed and replaced for the last one (FIX20200607). It also allows a way to install the campaign in an easier way (If you don't mind to sanitize IO and LFS libraries) zip Part 1: https://app.box.com/s/tmr0iaeyp96zrnnqv0jd880ei6jydmh5 zip Part 2: https://app.box.com/s/6rybr2dcqjvvnmbi1nmcaulr7syx2wzz

Fix 4 uploaded https://www.dropbox.com/s/qmmjiuiys0jz4c9/The%20Abkazian%20War%20Fix4.rar?dl=0 changelog: All wingmans and Colt escort respawn always in next mission. If they have been already killed, open ../status/status.lua file and replace each Colt 1 2, Colt 2 2, Colt 3 2, Colt 4 1, Colt 4 2, Colt 5 1, Colt 5 2, Colt 6 2 with "NOUNIT" in the file. For more inmersion, now Player AV-8b on the ground slots will start in an hangar and some static object added near the take off areas. (Aditional mods will be needed. Yo can find them bellow) NATO Personnel and items https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=223659 DCS Marsden Farp https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222775 VPC-Airfield Equipment https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=180374 New random event. Sometimes a coupe of migs spawn near the Azkhazian border. Don't forget to add a couple of sidewinders or request escort before go for your main targets!!! Random event "attack on Amelia Earhart base" is now easier. SU-25T attackers has been reduced to 3. NOTE(Do not forget ordering your wingman to attack bandits and set "weapons free" to your escorts just a little before you reach the incoming threats. Otherwise escorts will ignore the enemies until it is too late.) IMPORTANT: It is possible, when you "install" this fix, that you will need to repeat the step 11 of the installing process

No, the F-18 version of the campaing has only 1 slot. In the harrier version exists 3 because the player must choose between: 1. Take off vertically from a FARP with limited weight, but with a configurable payload 2. Take from the Amelia Earhart base runway with heavier payloads, but not configurable (the harrier is able to take off and land in the "X" abandoned runway in the caucasus, because is a VSTOL aircraft) As the F-18 is not able to take off from the ground or from a FARP, the only way to adapt the campaing to the F-18 is to not restrict the payload (you can change it in the carrier) and use only one slot.
-
Yes, that's it. All the missions are just the same, but with different weather. Everytime a mission is ended, the next mission is randomized (this way you play in random weather each time). If you want to change something, like the wingman payload, you must do the change in all st1-xxx and st2-xxx missions
-
I believe you can't change wingman payload in-mission. I have tried to do it in the harrier campaign just "jumping" into wingman aircraft and requesting ground crew to change payload, and then returning to my aircraft. But as soon as I leave wingman aircraft, the harrier explodes. I don't know if this happens to the F-18 too, but you can try it. Anyway, you can change it in the mission editor. Just open all the mission files, that start with "st1" and "st0", and change wingman payload as desired

You cand find more detailed explanations in the comment section of the AV-8 campaign https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308858/ Anyway: "Did I lose intelligence on them?". Nope, the enemy units are in the same place everytime time you play (but this is cheeting ^_^). If you remember where they where, you can go to the same area and atack them. For more realism or to get more precision in the location of enemies (i.e in order to use GPS guided bombs), you should send a recon mission through radio F10 option. Once the recon fligh discover the enemy in the F10 map, you can get the exact coordinates and planify your attack. "Am I supposed to just keep ending the mission then re-opening the campaign every time I die" The scenario is always the same. Your goal is to kill some enemy units each sortie until you clear a path for the concentration camps and send a helicopter to rescue the prisoners. All destroyed units will remain destroyed. If in this sortie you destroy 3 tanks, good. If you destroy 10 tanks, better. If you are taken down, just end the mission and play again. You'll never die or loose campaign. "Are there default missions being assigned to me, thus getting an ATA loadout on my first mission and a A2G loadout on my second?" There are no mission asigned (sometimes random events happens, just react to them). If there are not random event this time, choose a POI, send recond fligh and choose what to destroy and how. You can change your payload in the carrier to adapt your strategy. Hope this helps
