Looking at VR in near future question is: 1080Ti/11GB or 2080/8GB.
I know DCS uses more than 8GB VRAM if it finds it, but does it make a difference, and how much of a difference in VR with, say, a HP Reverb which renders 4K effectively?
Hi, looking to get a Reverb. Currently have a R5-2600/32GB/1070.
I'm a sucker for smooth edges and details, so in VR, and with the Reverb in particular, going from 1070 to 1080Ti any good or should I rather go for 2080 straight away?
Does somebody have benchmark values for either of these setups?
I removed the AB detent completely so the throttle goes through in one movement without lift, I'd like to keep it that way actually. I tried that one, from a 3D printer, it's on Thingyverse, bit notchy, but that could have been a settings issue.
Anyone have a good idea for a mod to the WH throttle to have "feelable" click when going AB?
I know *roughly* where the trigger point is but would like a switch like the guide rails in the real bird.
Maybe it's possible to deduct dimensions from the textures?
The controller for the switches is not so hard, the mechanics are. I have some ideas, but bringing "good" and "simple" together is where complexity goes running wild rather quickly.
What gives me headchaes is the switches that spring back into center, like AP engage, stab aug. Where does one get switches like that that? Mouser custom makes them, magnetically reset, but at 790€ a piece my line is well drawn.
Ground crew confirms "air supply connected", twice, but engine rpm does not move, no start sound, nothing.
Batt on, Gens on, Fuel boost pumps on.
NVM, SOLVED, I connected air but did not apply....
Just found this on a pic post site. Utterly impressed.
Main question: Video setup: beamer? 2D/3D with polarizers? How do you config the 180° in DCS?
Regarding "Tomcat": I'd crowdfund you without a moment's hesitation.
Is there a permanent fix for the "comms menu pops up, goes away, pops up..." issue? I delete Export.lua occasionally but neither do I know who generates it neither what's wrong with it once created.
Anything I can do to help debug?
While life without Vaicom is useless, this issue I could do without.
One little issue: it loads the profile on startup but does not select the role or devices. Always have to go to devices and select to use the throttle. Possibe to have that saved, too?
Love it. Finally I can ignite engines moving the throttles out of detent. That alone is worth it :)
Brings up a side topic question: I found out "start engine" is RAlt+Home/End (L/R) by sheer coincidence - how come this is not listed in "Adjust Controls" for the F-14 but still works?
when I attach a USB numpad, will the "1" key there be another "1" than on my regular keyboard, i.e. will DCS tell the devices apart?
Idea is to have one for entering nav data, say for F-14 RIO and the likes.
(Wouldn't mind device recommendations either :) )
Thread necromancy!
Do you still run this setup? I'm not too happy with TIR alone, too, it shifts height too much and certain angles are tricky.
So, I need opentrack, EDtracker and.. what else? Can I use the original TrackIR and combine that with EDtracker in OT?
EDIT / I got this working with RSmapper, actually. Release on BTN29/30 to RAlt+End and RAlt+Home for right (lucky guess)
Question though: why does this work at all? in the entire controls setup there is ne predefines keybind for "RAlt+End/Home".
