  1. I hope ED remembers this is supposed to be an entertaining combat simulation, I am all for realism but its also meant to be entertaining. If you spend some time setting up the weapon and target as per the manua,l there is nothing more satisfying than seeing your target explode, it makes you come back for more. However going through all this trouble and seeing your soft skinned targets drive away after a perfect impact leaves you rather deflated and makes you thing why bother. There should be a balance between realism and game play to keep the user interested - I thought 1.1.1.1 was just about right.
  2. I am very surprised at what you say, I would have thought a 500lb bomb would have a much larger damage radius than that. However as I have no first hand knowledge of these weapons I must accept what you say.

  4. If you look at my first post it explains the correct mission, waypoint and weapon. If you place the GBU-38 between the trucks in 1.1.1.1 they both explode, in 1.1.2.1 they just drive off a few metres and remain untouched.
  5. You obviously haven't done this mission Sir as the targets are Static, they only move after they have been attacked. The trucks in question are only 3 or 4 truck lengths from the bomb blast, if a 500lb bomb can't damage a truck at this distance something needs looking at.
  6. This is a question rather than a problem. Has the effectiveness of the GBU-38 been reduced in 1.1.2.1 ? I use the Instant Action / Easy-East Georgia-Spring as a training/testing mission. At waypoint 3, the Patrol, I normally take this out with a GBU-38 dropped between the two trucks and it works every time in 1.1.1.1. Now in 1.1.2.1 it never works I've tried several times, it kills the solders but the trucks just drive away ? Glen

  8. After a mission I normally give my Wingy an RTB command to stop him from getting in my way during lamding. Because of this I very often land before him, taxi to the parking stand, then watch him land. I am always astounded how quicky he slows down compared to me. On touchdown I use full speedbrake, max footbrakes together with anti-skid selected. My touchdown speed is about 130, so why does he slow down significantly quicker than me ? I am sometimes still braking near the end of the runway after touching down at the correct point (tyre marks) but he can be at taxi speed at the first turnoff taxiway.
  9. I have mentioned this problem, tagged on the end of another post but I feel it needs a thread of its own, to be looked at by ED. I have created many 'Fast Missions' and every time without fail the FAC has been positioned where he cannot see the enemy forces and therefore does not give any targets when requested. I have seen him placed behind tall buildings, in a forest or simply the wrong side of a hill. Is there any chance ED could have a look at this please and see if there is a way to better position the JTAC when the mission is automatically created. Thanks :)

  11. I was watching my wingman last night dropping CBU-97's on a group of 3 stationary tanks. With each attack he drops a pair of bombs, which is a bit of a waste. Is there any way I can make him only drop one, via the Mission Editor or elsewhere ?
  12. When I create a mission using the Quick Mission option, it often says in the mission notes I can use JTACS on frequencies 30 and/or 31. Can we use JTACS with BlackShark 2 or is this just because it uses the same quick mission builder as the Warthog and it only applies to the A-10C ?
  13. I think I screwed up, I bought the upgrade version thinking this was the right way to go. Problem is I really don't want two versions on my hard drive as I have no intention of using BS1 again. Matt, is there any way around this, can I pay the difference between the upgrade version and the full version i.e. another $20 ?? Glen
  14. Hi Weta43 Compressing the file only reduced it to 5.2, sorry. The other way is to try the mission for yourself, this wingman problem happens every time now. I normally make my wingman hold position once the mission starts (keeps him out of the way). Take out the trucks with guns, then the patrol (WP3) with a GBU-38 and the bridge (WP4) with the other GBU-38, stay above 10,000 ft to avoid AAA. After the bridge is destroyed you are told to attack the tanks (WP5), this is when you ask your wingman to take out the two air defences, at your SPI with missiles. Unless I have been very unlucky he will only attack one of them, which has only happened to me post 1.1.1.0.
  15. This time my wingman again only attacked one of the two Air Defences, this time the Shilka and left the Strela SA-9 ?? So I don't think he is prioritising very well. When he attacks the Shilka he then immediately says rejoin and as you can see from the track the Strela is very close by. Prior to 1.1.1.0 two missiles would have been fired killing both Air Defence units. Sorry the track was too big to send 5.38mb, limit is 5.00mb - is there a way around this ?
  16. Ever since the Beta's I have used the 'Easy-East Georgia-Spring' as a training/test mission, so I know it very well and can complete it easily. After 1.1.1.0, my wingman will not attack the Shilka's at waypoints 5 (tanks) and waypoint 6 (column). At waypoint 5 I give the command to attack Air Defences with missiles, he kills the Strela SA-9 but ignores the Shilka. Also at waypoint 6 the Tank column, I make WP6 the SPI and give him the command to attack the Air Defences with missiles, he says OK then dives to the ground and continues 'jinking' uncontrollably a long way from the target. Prior to 1.1.1.0 he would attack his assigned Air Defence targets without any problems.
  17. After I get a 'mission successful' message while on a Campaign mission, do I have to land, in other words do I lose points if I just press Quit ? Glen
  18. When they produced the Black Shark 2 manual, why didn't they remove the Russian text now that the cockpit is re-labelled in English ? The text can be very distracting when trying to learn a complicated system :huh: Glen

  20. Where do I find information on this EPLRS, I've looked in the manual but can't find anything, its not even in the Acronyms section. Where do I check to see what vehicles or aircraft are EPLRS enabled ?

  22. That's interesting, has this just been implimented in 1.1.0.8 as I'm sure I had datalink transmission im previous versions. As I don't have a clue what EPLRS is, I'll look it up in the manual. Thanks for your help :thumbup:
