  1. Hey, i get this almost always when a mission ends or is changed while playing online. It says the program requested to be terminated in an unusual manner, or words to that effect. I've done a bunch of googling but most results i get pertain to Lock On. I'm on Vista 64 if that makes any difference.
  2. To be fair, the Russian cockpit is the stock cockpit isn't it? Does the English version of the game come with a translated cockpit?
  3. Cor really wicked shots man! I really dislike generic photoshop lens-flares though, but i guess i can overlook them in these :)
  4. One thing that is kind of odd is that if you're tracking a missile, or if you're looking at an enemy tank that you've just let off a barrage towards, it really does seem dodgy when there's no immediate explosion, and you're right next to the thing. Of course that is just a minor little thing and is to be predicated.
  5. Damn the link really is broken, this sounds like an amazing little feature which i want!
  6. If you're feeling adventurous you can edit a file somewhere and manually change what default skin you use other places i think. I saw someone talking about it somewhere else on here.
  7. A valid argument WynnTTr, thanks for being civil
  8. Kwill, it's a heck of a lot cheaper, and you can configure it to be as good as TrackIR. It is also more satisfying building something yourself. I think it's pretty despicable that NaturalPoint are trying to circumvent other pieces of freeware tracking software by adding scramblers.
  9. Man those K-Max helicopters are crazy! What an interesting design. They look perfect for taking people's heads off though with the blades at that angle
  10. Actually it isn't that ridiculous, if the game engine is old and doesn't have things set up into modules or layers. But yes i meant the sound engine. My friend is on a games programming course at uni, so i know a bit about what goes on with coding game engines. Anyway, stop reading things to the letter.
  11. Aw man i was gonna say that :P hahahaha
  12. You've definitely got your radio set to ground crew, right?
  13. Hang in there man you'll get it!
  14. Yeah save yourself some cash and use Freetrack, much better.
  15. Sucks for those of us that have Vista 64 and can't use that outdated PPJoy program
  16. I'd imagine you'd have to rewrite half the engine just to incorporate that. And if it did incur a performance hit, i doubt many would be able to play with it considering the game is pretty hefty already, and a lot of people struggle to keep the FPS high. It would probably mean surrendering my level 8 anti-aliasing in singleplayer, an level 4 in multiplayer. The game looks ugly without it.
  17. Frontlines Fuel Of War has an excellent Doppler sound engine. Also, Half Life 2 did. Those aren't sim games of course. It really would be nice to fire a Vikhr at a tank a short distance away and hear just the thud of the explosion a few short time after, as opposed to the detailed high-frequencies.
  18. hmm, so i've figured out how to edit them, but how can i get them actually in-game? I have them in the Bazar\Temp Textures folder, but they don't show up in-game. Any ideas? :)
  19. Hey! I find the yellow a bit garish, and I wonder how i would go about changing the colour to blue? I've never personally done any modding with the files for this particular game, so any advice would be appreciated :) Thanks!
  20. If you do upload it, it might be a good idea to remove your callsign
  21. The chopper will automatically point you towards the target, but you have to manually use some yaw control input to get little tracking circle inside the big green circle, which is the sight of the Vikhrs
  22. All in American though! Too bad :P Perhaps that is the switch the Russian's use to listen in on those pesky yanks?
