If you play on a multiplayer server with a CTLD enabled mission you can play as an AFAC. Use the communication menu to start designating targets for others. Out of the box the Gazelle can not laser designate for others. The Gazelle does have a laser ranging system though, which might be what confused you. The main purpose of this laser is to show the distance between you and the target so you can make sure the target is within range for the HOT missiles. If you are really hardcore though you can actually AFAC for others without using any scripts, only using the ranging laser and the NADIR to get the exact coördinates of a target. Here is how to do that: Polar coordinates entering procedure, to create a new waypoint with azimuth(degrees) and distance(m) from your current position. Press "POL 0 n" n, from 1 to 9, is the number of the waypoint you want to store the new point in If the point n already has coordinates, azimuth(upper line) and distance(bottom line) from your current position are displayed If then you Press Enter you access edit mode to change azimuth and distance (usual edit procedure with down arrow to swap the edited flashing line) You see the distance and azimuth on your Viviane screen. After you edited, press Enter again to validate, the new point n will have the azimuth and distance you edited. You can pass the coördinates on to say an F-18 or A-10 which can use this to either set up a target waypoint, POI or set up their GPS guided bombs.

Hey Thumper1911, The french Gazelle was never equipped with laser designators hence you can not perform AFAC tasks without using any scripts. The CTLD script however gives you the opportunity to act as an AFAC. You can find more info and the script here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143107 Another nice scripting framework you could use is MOOSE. Certain MOOSE scripts allow you to call in artillery strikes on map markers / coördinates in real time. You can find more about MOOSE and the framework itself right here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138043 This might be of interest to you:

This is something we're looking into at the moment. -
[Fixed]Cockpit looks to dark with 2.5!!

Thanks again for helping us test! -
Hi guys, We're aware of the (very annoying) sound issues with the fuelpump, RWR and Mistral tones. This issue has been introduced by code changes to the core engine of DCS 2.5.5. We're hard at work trying to find out what exactly has been changed to the engine so we can fix this issue as soon as possible.

Nothing else, just a question.

That's right, the sound issues will be fixed as soon as we have a clear picture of what ED changed to the core engine. -
Hey guys, we know about the sound issue. It has to do with code changes in the core engine. We’re in the process of finding out what exactly has changed so the issue can be fixed.

Yes we're very interested in this. Sorry we couldn't pinpoint the exact problem yet. -
Will there ever be a SA342sim?

It is a know fact that the force feedback support for the Gazelle is bugged. Right now you will get strange behaviour when the ffb option is enabled. The feature will get another look at in the planned updates. If it makes the list of fixes remains to be seen. We want to be transparent on that. We know it’s not what you want to hear but you’ll have to disable FFB from the settings/misc menu. This goes for everyone wether you have an FFB enabled stick or not. -
Yes, Looking in to it. Thanks for reporting it.

Hi Camino, We'll put it on the list of things to look in to for the 2019 update(s). We can't promise you we'll implement this feature as we'll have to crosscheck your request with how bright the lights are on the real Gazelle. Be sure we'll look in to this though.

Hi Harlikwin, As much as we'd like to help you with this, the system you're asking about is still in active service and therefor still confidential. In depth information on systems that has no impact on the "game" can not really be discussed by us. We hope you understand.

Right on! Good luck with your new rig. Don't hesitate to report back when you've tried the Gaz. We try to be more communicative, it's good to know it's appreciated. -

Great to hear you enjoy the Gazelle that much. It's always nice to read such things! We hope to deliver as well, in fact we're very confident we will. We understand your sentiment though. When the time comes we look forward to your honest opinion Fox. Thanks Jester, it's appreciated but with the news Polychop is working on a new module while some feel the Gazelle is unfinished or degraded after multiple DCS updates, we can understand people have a strong opinion on the matter. All we can say is that we strive to bring out one or more updates for the Gazelle this year that will statisfy the Gazelle module owners and the new module paves the way for some things we'd like to include. Until that time we understand Fox and many others will post their honest opinions here. -

Now and again we notice there seems to be demand for night vision capabilities on the L and minigun variants of the Gazelle. We’ve explained that the real versions of these variants have never had the capability to equip these night vision devices. Our standpoint has always been to stick to realism. However, we are interested in what you as a community think of this standpoint. Without promising anything on this matter, we’d like to hear your opinion.
