  1. I am using a Pmax 5K Super HMD and do not experience double vision issues. Just a thought, could your problems be related to your IPD settings. Not having correct IPD setting could cause double vision in the HMD. IPD can be adjusted via hardware (a dial on your Pimax HMD) or via software via PiTools or via PiTools Experience Home addon in PiTools General Settings tab.
  2. Does DCS game need to be reinstalled from scratch to avoid or reduce incidence of game crashes when changing the PC's GPU card? Generally speaking, would it be a good practice to re-install DCS after a GPU change? Just wondering about that since changing from a Radeon RX5700XT to a NVidia RTX3080Ti, exploring new GPU OC for high VR FPS's and running into several game crashes.
  3. Hi Phantom88, I am a PMAX 5K Super VR user operating on the following rig: MSI X570-A-Pro Modo (PCIe4), 2TB M2 SSD (for OS and games), 32GB RAM @3200mhz (OC), AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU and EVGA3080TI GPU. I am currently getting over 60FPS in DCS at almost FULL details...which is mind blowing! My FOV is 150deg...not ventures on the 200deg FOV realm yet My question to you is, given my rig, would switching to a PIMAX 8Kx affect some performances? In essence, going from 5K Super to 8Kx has more pixels to render = less FPS in the game (wt the 8Kx)? Does that make sense? There must be a performance hit in switching to an HMD having more pixels/fragments to display. Phantom88, what are your rig specifications and what king of general FPSs are you getting? Thanks for your feedback... Would also appreciate insight from anyone else with a PIMAX 8kx... THX
  4. Razo+r, 122sqn Bruv, & PeachMonkey. thanks for your tips. I did do the turn off engine part of the sequence but not the OpenWindow part!!! Didn't even realize this was needed in other flight models. True PeachMonkey...the immersion in VR is just too intense! Be safe.... Everest out!
  5. This is not a complaint and I know that the ship is in WIP.... I had a few mishaps breaking the landing gear while landing the Mossie during my first test flights. But after clearing the runway and asking to repair the ship nothing seemed to happen. I am getting better and breaking less gears by making sure my flaps are out before landing. But is ship repairing via COMMs menu something planned some time in the future? Regards,
  6. In VR, flying the Mossie is just spectacular!!! (100 X better than viewing on a primary display) Sitting between 2x1600 HP Merlin engines is a magical audible experience and you really feel the impressive power of the ship. The visual effects in VR with cockpit and 3D world immersion are totally mind blowing. Very impressed with my first make shift flights in the Marianna theater. I have known about the Mosquito ship some 50 years ago as a 15-16 year old kid. To be able to finally be immersed in this ship (in VR) as if it was a real experience is so revealing. Looking forward to many flight hours with this ship and can't wait to test it out in the Channel & Normandy theaters. Thanks DCS for early access release of this great machine.

  7. Don't feel ready to sink my head into LUA scripting just yet...but, Your example is very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  8. How the heck did U get a Wright Flyer 3d Model to be usable in DCS World? Some folks truly impress me!!! Nice video & good work...but I can already hear the die hard simmers screaming for lack of realism .
  9. I certainly hope you are right. I can wait for such a release. Pas de problème!
  10. MAC??? Whats that? So DCS is not catered to aim at a wide audience? Don't put that on your CV if you plan to work at DCS.
  11. Flight simulators are not games? Really!!! Games are programs that are programmed by programmers. So are ultra cool flight simulators like DCS. Therefore, logically, the DCS flight simulator IS a game...whether you accept that or not. Oh...and the DCS flight simulator is also there to have MAJOR fun!
  12. So if real pilots have to make a RAMP Start to start their jets, then why is their a ramp start cheat in DCS. The answer is simple. Because it is convenient, for many virtual pilots, to have a ramp start auto startup in DCS. So where do you draw the realism line in the sand? If we ever get a TRIM RESET for DCS planes, then you will always have the choice to NOT USE IT and keep things as realistic as possible for yourself while giving other virtual pilots the choice to use that feature. I like realism too. In fact if I could get to feel them G when I turn hard, heck, I'd love it! But that ain't coming yet!
  13. After a 1st release of one of the 500lbs bombs, the jet is really unbalanced...trimming is strong on the side of the opposite wing. That works but after releasing the second bomb then bang you are again completely unbalanced from that initial trimming. Instead of waisting time re-trimming again...you just press a TRIM RESET key sequence and the jet is quickly stable again. Very convenient! TRIM RESET is just a convenience function...thats it! It is useful especially on ground runs. In AA engagement it is not needed so much unless you deliberately release all your (say) left missiles!?! But the jet will typically alternate left then right missile automatically so that soft trimming is enough to correct the roll unbalance. Hope that is clearer!
  14. Infectedd, what are your machine and device (HOTAS) specifications? I'm asking because when I ran DCS on my old PC (~1+ month ago) I also noticed problems with the throttle curve. But since I upgrade to a way better gaming PC that problem went away with a same HOTAS (...TM Cougar Hotas).
  15. "There is no point for the tail hook in the DCS F-16C to be modeled until they add cables on the runways." ...why add cables to the runways. Just go land it on a carrier! Check your F-16 external details (if you purchased it). It does have a tail hook modeled on it's rear underside. Also, their is a tail hook control switch inside it's 3D cockpit. My point is....why does it not work!?! My guess is that it will be made available soon...once they iron out other more important issues. Hope I'm right as it would be quite cool to land the Viper on a carrier....just like in BMS433/434.
  16. I customized the control keystrokes for the tail hook deployment in the Viper and also tried activating it via the cockpit switch and nothing seems to happen. The tail hook is modeled on the jet but it just doesn't seem to deploy. Is this a bug? Or is this feature still in the works for the F-16? Thanks for any informative replies.... Everest...out!
  17. Thanks...guess we all need to wait this out. It should be a really cool release! Just gotta stay patient. Everest...Out!
  18. And where are the MFD colors? Are color MFDs in Falcon4 BMS a cheat implementation? Do the real F-16 Vipers have color MFD displays. My guess is that YES they do have color displays. And having vivid color MFD displays in the DCS F-16 would probably solve some readability issues. ...just a thought and a wish for improvement! Everest...Out!
  19. I come from the Falcon4 BMS sim world and a nice to have feature is TRIM RESETTING. FACTS: My guess is that TRIM RESET is not a standard feature in any of the DCS planes that are available and it is probably not available in any real airplane. Heck, even a real Cessna 150 doesn't have a TRIM RESET button!!! SIMULATORS ARE FOR FUN: TRIM RESETTING would be a cool convenient feature! For example, suppose you are carrying 2 x 500lbs bombs on your Viper (1 on each wing) and release one of them. When that happens, your jet is completely unbalanced. During your egress you need to seriously trim for wing rolling. Ingress again and on your second release, your trimming now makes you role hard the other way. Activating a TRIM RESET balances the roll back to zero...which is very convenient although it may not be realistic. That's why such a feature is a CHEAT but a very convenient cheat. To me, in a flight simulator, TRIM RESET is as much of a cheat as, say, an automated RAMP Start feature. We are into this DCS simulator world to have fun so why not have a few control features to make it funner! MY WISH: I truly believe that adding a TRIM RESET control feature for all DCS planes would be a big plus for the community. For me, in the Viper, it is a must have. Guess it could be available in the GENERAL section of the controls in a sub CHEATS section. Of course, we should be able to customize the key presses for such a feature. I know that such a request is LOW on the totem pole of work at DCS. Implementing it as a general feature for all planes would make it simpler to implement...but why? IMPLEMENTATION TRIM RESETTING is simply returning to ZERO all the trims you've done on your HOTAS flight axis. Typically, each 3D cockpit saves those parameters as you set them. That's it, no matter which plane you would fly a RESET would ZERO all trims of your plane and per say, that is simple to implement...press a key sequence and all trims are reset (no matter which plane you would be in). VOTE ON IT: If enough players agree with this we have a chance to see TRIM RESET added in DCS. Thanks for reading...and VOTE in your replies! Like... YES - Please add a TRIM RESET controls binding for all DCS planes, or NO - Keep it as realistic as possible. I like building muscles while I fly in my simulator!!! For me, it's a big and strong YES! Everest...Out!
  20. I just purchased the supper carrier module and was wandering if I could test it. Since it is not released to production yet, can it still be tested on a DCS OpenBeta installation? THX for letting me know... Everest...Out!
  21. Good idea and I guess my error. Didn't realize I had posted in the KA-50 wishlist section. This message has been duplicated and added as thread in the General/DCS 2.5/Wishlist section of the forum. Thanks for the tip! Everest
  22. ...original of this post was added in KA-50 wishlist section of forum :no_sad: oops, so here it is now for general DCS 2.5 wishlist section. Hope more eyes get to see it and vote (by replying YES, YES....please do it soon YES!). :pilotfly: Having a new helicopter flight model such as the AH-64 Apache Longbow would be a cool development direction. I am sure that many flyboys (and flygirls) from the Americas would really dig this. Just can't seem to forget (I think it was...) Micropros Longbow AH-64 simulator back in the days of Voodoo graphic cards (1990's!). Are there any such plans for the future at DCS? If enough people from the DCS community tag on to this suggestion, maybe DCS will catch on to making it a reality in the near future. DCS forum member, if you like this idea...then please reply to this post. The more positive replies, the better!!! Please focus your replies for this ship alone or its variants. The more virtual pilots show their color on this, the stronger the case gets! See you in the Blue DCS skies... Everest...Out! Flight Lead, CAN04 Quebec Air Force
