Guide to the DCS View System (very early WIP)
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Maybe - but you should also take some time to print out the keyboard view-commands - so you can start to play around with them and see what happens. I already made some screen-shots that you can use for it. EDIT: ...and when you use this image with this mod you can even have it all time 'in-cockpit'. >>> KNEEBORD_Tablet_Mod_PP_for DCSWORLD_1.2.4.rar -
Guide to the DCS View System (very early WIP)

No - no way to resize the HUD without that it becomes useless , as the piper and way-points are not matching with the 'outside' any more. A collimated HUD has only a narrow band it is properly visible inside the cockpit - and it is calibrated for only one eyesight-line. - you can't change this. - that's why the button to move your seat up/down is in the cockpit of the A-10C. Kneebord Export for all DCS modules - I need your suggestions
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in DCS Modding
Hi, I hope someone reads this in time (the next 5 hours) and can help me. (.it's now 1817 Zulu time >> http://www.zulutime.net/ and I can test until 2300h Zulu.) Can someone host a passworded server with the attached miz - so I can join the server to make some MP-tests regarding the the and how to separate the info for each side/flight. And it's important that I connect as client on a non-local server. I will do no flying at all,I will only jump in and out of the various planes to see if things work and edit my code in between. I will try to find out a save way to separate the Briefing-images for each coalition in MP. - So the Red-pictures are only visible in a Red-side cockpit and the Blue are only visible in a Blue-side cockpit. And the same with the Mission-task on the next page. Please send me a PM with the server-name and password. Thanks in advanced - I will edit this post when I have a test-server available from someone. EDIT: Got some server test-time ! Thanks to whartsell !! test red blue.miz -

I did it to lower the file size of the complete mod package without a noticeable loose in quality. With PNG the Mod was ~27mb and with JPG it's 19mb. That's all. Res is almost irrelevant . It only changes file-size and level of detail when fully zoomed in. Just stay as close s posibile to a 2:3 ratio - so you get no distortion. I use myself 668x1024 for all charts - its absulute sufficient . going higher only inveigle you to make the text smaller as it is usable inside the cockpit and /or when placed as view-port. Rule of the thump to get always readable text at moderate zoom-levels: don't use a higher Vertical res as the Monitor that you are using can show . 2000x3000 is sure more crisp when fully zoomed in - but it will be very fuzzy if you place it as View-port in 668x1024. Hope that clears this up.

Please help others helping you and add at least more info to the used module and some info in which path your JSGM is starting in. - I can tell you that it is working flawless in DCS 1.2.4 at my side when you follow the documentation. Just try it like this: Write a letter to my 93 years old grandma what happened - so she can recreate the situation without that You and I have to sit beside her.

Many thanks ! But: I'm not harsh - I just passing info - well, sometimes very compact . But don't expect me to write a Roman and ask several questions for troubleshooting things... (that are already covered by the read-me/documentation - I spend a lot time on writing / completing it - it's there to serve a purpose - so people should read it) ...when I only got incomplete Info like this - and there is even no question mark at all: ... *sigh* I have better things to do like troubleshooting this. And: It's your very own interpretation that let it sound "harsh" for you - its not how I wrote it. So here - have a smiley : :) And this is what I think: Instead of dedicate your time in telling me that my answer for someone else was not what you expected and /or you think that it wasn't a appropriate one - instead : Try to troubleshoot this for P*Funk - I'm sure he would very much appreciate it. :) Edit: If you think I shouldn't answer at all with just a correction and the most obvious advise next time - let me know. Well it would also help me to save some time - next time. ;)

Lock on flaming cliffs 3 activation PROBLEMS !!!
PeterP replied to username's topic in Payment and Activation
1 . make sure that the original LockOn is installed on your system. 2. Download/Install DCS World. (FREE) 3. Download/Install FC3. 4. Run DCS World and activate the FC3 module by running a mission that has a FC3 Plane in it. (only use the newly PURCHASED FC3 key) 5. Enjoy. ...and welcome aboard! -
Congrats Brazil! - I'm very happy that you have tonight a reason to celebrate! Sorry Spain! Good fight - good night!

Demo for a HUD that works in stereoscopic 3D
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
no - you got it fully wrong - sorry. The picture is taken while debugging and to show where the piper is placed in the z-orientation - the piper is not visible from outside the cockpit and when leaving the reflector on normal usage. Please Read again - or simply try the files - than you will understand. - and if you don't use a stereoscopic display/output- don't bother at all. -
Win8 + SoftTH = can of Worms As MadTommy mentions, use windowed mode instead and make a good decision how to arrange you monitors in the desktop-properties beforehand. - as DCS is not really multi-monitor compatible at this stage (1.2.4) and a Stacked setup will maybe have a better result as a side-by-side... Read the guide- follow the link list and Click the first link in my sig to learn more about it.

don't worry- a banned Members reputation will drop to Zero - so it isn't counted into your rep any-more (it's gray). AFAIK -I have earned a dozen of them in my log during the years. (and some are so nasty that I get banned when I post them openly) The only sad part of the story is that they (the banned members) maybe still think that they have 'harmed' you with it - just before they got banned -. Now you have no way to tell them that this was a absulute sense-less action. (because you can't send them a PM) Noting more- nothing less. Again: don't worry - laugh about it! ^_^ (and check your log)

Kneebord Export for all DCS modules - I need your suggestions

Some more WIP: The team consist right now of Balu , Icemaker and I. Balu is right now rearranging his flight-plan tool in a way that it will place a luafile with a complete database of current loaded mission - so I we have a complete 'libary' of the data for each element exactly how it is needed and already in the right syntax for the kneeboard . Icmaker will probably write a 'wizard' for MP sessions that asks you which Coalition/Flight/Flightnumber you want to join - so you get your plane-specific data on the Kneeborad pages (we hope to fully automate it on a later stage and integrate it in the flight-plan tool) - but first we want a working 'proof of concept' with a single page. I'm already coding to implement some sort of 'excel' functionality into the knee-board - so I don't have to use DDS background images at all - and all tables and lines will be directly drawn by the lua code. - this will allow a very high flexibility and you can also choose in which way the data should be represented to you and you can 'de-clutter' it. -but if you like to have the 'big' picture - you can have listed almost everything - like weapon-load of each element on the map (this will be several pages long...). And we will sure work out a way to restrict this only to your coalition. - like a trigger that throws you out of the server when you load the 'blue' charts and than join the 'red' side. - this will also allow the mission-maker to attach the mission charts directly in the *.miz file - so people that join a server will have the data-charts even if they didn't installed the flight planning tool or my mod at all. -
Hi, do you have a media link outside of Facebook (youtube) ? Please post - and if not - I think you should create it , as some mid 30ies-40ies (like me) are a little sceptic to click each facebook-link that they get presented - and it would also allow everyone easily to repost your nice video-presentation of your project-goals in other forums to support you. ..and It would help also to clarify some 'questions' of some posters in this thread. :) I hope my post is obsolete and you are right now preparing something like this already...
