Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Please forget everything you learned about the installation process for the old 1.2.4 mod. Just simply follow the new installation instruction - and everything will be fine. Edit: Removed the 1.2.4 mod ReadMe from Post #1 and made the links to the Beta even bigger - I hope this will prevent further questions like the one above and this. -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
You can still customise Each cockpit limits for each seat/plane/whatever independently with beta 2.1. And you are able to save a own default view position for each of them. What's 'global' will only effect the 'physiognomy' setting of your virtual pilot . - and I think that should be the same in all modules. You are still able to customise every single plane/cockpit to your needs without the need to have different 'Global' settings. - I have the feeling that you simply missed the last update and still using the first files . -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck

Thanks! This simply can't work. If you want a smooth transition to both sides: use my files and edit only the "Global" settings. - sorry I don't have time to write down the 'why'. @ All Please say beforehand which files do you used when reporting something. - This will save us both some time. ;) -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Works for me fine here in the P-51D + TrackIR 4 + DCS World 1.2.5 : Check-six transition is smooth and works to both sides without 'bumps' - Stock Beta.2.1 See: (I use in this vid the numpad4 and numpad6 to look around - but this doesn't change the 90° transition compared to TrackIr ) I need the exact steps you have made beginning from downloading my mod to before entering the P-51d cockpit , so I can try to reproduce it. Image this: write a letter to my 91 years old grandma , so she can reproduce it without that I or you have to sit beside her. :) Yes I know - this doesn't matter - the View-settings of mine is in charge when installed correctly on DCS World 1.2.5. -

How about making a test yourself ? - So you can tell me if the current Beta works as intended ... :smilewink: - It's just a single file you have to copy'n'paste... If this is too much asked: Simply wait until it isn't beta any-more and you have a "complete" documentation . :) Edit: ...OK,OK... - before someone just posts to tell me how rude and/or brash I am... : I edited post #287 and left a hint in bold. -

What is the install procedure for the 1.2.5 torrent?
PeterP replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Un-installing a older versions of any software is always a good choice to prevent hiccups when you don't like to use updates that are made to work with a already installed version. - also delete/rename the DCS folder in your C:\Users\>YOUR USERNAME<\Saved Games\ folder. Read here to learn where your old Joystick profiles are stored to restore them if necessary: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42462 edit: cichlidfan - do you have nothing better to do than Chuck-Norrising my post ?! - just asking. :) -
What is the install procedure for the 1.2.5 torrent?
PeterP replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Make sure that all 5 files are in the same folder and Run following file (Right click>Run - or simply double click) : DCS_World_1.2.5.15586.200_213.exe And read all info that pops up (also the ReadMe files) and make the appropriate decisions. -
This file is ~50MB ... I tinkered to load it up for you ... - but than I got this 'brilliant' idea: Delete it and run a DCS-Repair. (Windows START>>All Programs>>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World>Repair DCS World) Then you can give your Reputation points to ED/Belsimtek.

He wasn't rude - he posted just a reminder to follow forum-rule 4.2 (I can't see something wrong/rude in it) And BTW, Here is the Original thread : A10C new worn HD cockpit ...yse it's dirty - but also HD (whatever that means..) - but the overall quality is the Best you can get up to now. So here is a more precise answer to the OP question: If you you are looking for a 'HD' A-10C pit that looks like the stock on but comes in higher res = NO there isn't. If you are looking for a amazing piece of art that comes much closer to a cockpit of a actual in-sercive A-10C that wasn't prepared to be shown on public air-shows. = Use Ricardo's Pit.

Nice video Thanks! - will be useful in my link-list and when editing post#1. I see you use Ricardo's amazing textures A10C new worn HD cockpit... ;) but why don't you use the following, just to make it even more real?! >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105421 :) - no need to answer - my question was rhetorical. BTW: Here is one of the best explanations I found to visualize what this mod does to DCS :D : -

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Edit: New version with working "ShoulderSize" in all true* 3D cockpits ! Try it - and you will be amazed! - No need anymore to make 'funny moves' with the TrackIr to check your six. (Thanks ED!) *= F15C, A10C, A-10A, Su-27, Ka-50, P-51D, UH-1H, Su-25(A) - ....this new feature can be also switched ON for all other old partially 2D FC3 cockpits by editing the Server.lua - just read on... Attached you will find the "Proper Neck for DCS World 1.2.5 - Beta 2.1b" ( 2.1b : I made some changes to the syntax structure , so it is easier to have a overview when doing own customisations - and also edited the Huey Gunner angle-limits to prevent the most impossible view positions) PS: This mod enables also the Six-Degrees-of Freedom-movement in the old , partial 2D cockpits of FC3. Don't forget to remap the TrackIR Z axis for the by deafault Non-6DOF cockpits - so you don't change the FOV when you move your head forward. >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105515 Preparation: make sure that you don't have the previous mod for 1.2.4 installed. - simply run a DCS-Repair if unsure. Installation: 1. Copy the Server.lua into C:Users>YOUR USERNAME<Saved GamesDCSConfigView... (if the folders don't exists you have to create them) 2. Optional If you have not already your own SnapViews.lua and/or you are not happy with the default cockpit view (F1) position : Copy the SnapViews.lua into C:Users>YOUR USERNAME<Saved GamesDCSConfigView... And/Or go into DCS World>>Options>>Misc. > Check "Enable User Snap-View Saving" and redefine your default cockpit view while the simulation is running. Notice to all that already used Beta 1.0 and 2.0 and did set up their own snap-views with it: You don't have to copy over my 'default' SnapViews.lua again - Keep yours! This attached SnapViews.lua is set up in a way that it will look like this : You will find the needed key commands how to save a new default cockpit view here: Remarks: Huey: You are now free to save a default snap-view in every seat position of the Huey , as they are now independent from each other since 1.2.5. ShoulderSize = (new since 1.2.5) 0 = OFF , 0.2 = ON -- move body when azimuth value more then 90 degrees. Enables you to easily check your six ! This is a very, very nice feature !! - Thank you ED! Editing and own customisations: You are still free to change Line #6 to #9 of the Server.lua to your liking if you want different limits and/or a different 'neck dimension' - check my annotations to know the units of a value and what it does. Use notepad++ or equivalent for editing Lua-Script files! (MS-Notepad isn't suitable to read the syntax properly!) And make a backup beforehand !! Use attached "All planes-modules-test 1.2.5.miz" to check the views in each module/cockpit and save a new default cockpit view as required. If you want to post a info/bug/issue: Please read post #1 how I need the info ! - as sentence like "works buggy and too big- and/or cant move back" is just a waste of your and my time.- as I need to know the used module/cockpit and so on...Don't expect that I'm able to read your mind or knowing exactly what you are talking about without naming it exactly! A picture is often more worth than thousand words. ;) ...and don't expect me to answer things that are already explained and reachable via post#1 and/or the forum-search or can be goggled within seconds. ;) Will edit post#1 and upload it to the user-files if there are more than 100 downloads without serious issue reports and/or I get enough feedback/indication that old functionality of the original 'proper-neck' mod is restored again. Please Read also this before reporting 'annoyances' >>>>> -

HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
To answer upcoming questions regarding compatibility with the fresh DCS World 1.2.5 update : Yes, It's save to use this mod together with DCS World 1.2.5 ! It works exactly the same as before in 1.2.4. -
Achtung - important info regarding DCS World 1.2.5 ! This mod is in its current version not 100% compatible with the 1.2.5 P-51D and the Huey Beta. Means: The Kneeboard will work fine , but it can be that other cockpit devices , like the Radio in the P-51D, will not working properly. (I wasn't able to make in-game tests up to now - I just compared the 1.2.5 files with winmerge for changes) To play absulute save: Don't install the Mod for the P-51D and Huey Beta until I provide a update for them. It is still 100% save to use it with the 1.2.5 DCS World and FC3, A-10C, Ka-50 , as the involved files didn't changed from 1.2.4 to 1.2.5. Will try to provide a 100% working 1.2.5 update for the Huey and P-51D asap !
