flicker means black screen or artefacts?
Does it happen only in-cockpit or also in the F2 view?
and in which module?
Any mods installed that can made responsible for it?
-
Thanks !
Initially I broke my head, then I realized it was done with right mouse clikYes - things getting easier if you are not only able to read - but also able to understand!:)

haha...
there is no time any more for "panic-making" ... we did this 15 years ago!
(please help me - I'm getting old...: how many Kyoto-protokolls didn't made it to ratification ?)
Well - I see also no use in "panic-making".
Its about time to go panic....
- as it is already happening and there is no hope in turning it back any more.
-
...and you using how-many screens with how many exports in what in game settings and on what Operating System?
...how much V-Ram has your Ati HD 5770?
...running on "low" - Is the flicker also there?
-
Me too! - something must be wrong at your end.Im lost !!!
My last guess :
Run the "Clickable RadioMenu for DCS World 1.2.0 x64 Normal.exe" as administrator.
-
My first guess:
Your System runs out of V-ram.
Its funny that you post a thread in the Video Corruption and Related Card Issues
section and don't mention at all what system re using and in-game settings.
Please post it.

... I never told to click "customize your notification tray"...
To get to the desired outcome as quick as possible without the need to explaining you how the notification tray of Win7 works in detail:
Simply restart your system or Log off

Gadroc im having trouble figuring out how to get the MFD images from DCS to my Second monitor using Helios. Can you give pointers on that pls.
Dummies Guide for the “MonitorSetup.lua“
and placing/positioning different view-ports 1.0.X
and this too:
All Exports On in A10C for DCS World 1.2.0
This pre-sets will switch on the export of avionics to dedicated view-ports - just by simple copy'n'paste.
And while we are on it ,
read this:

Sorry, No - I stopped to give recommendation about buying a GPU two years ago.
....there is always one that knows it better and will tell that AMD is superior over NVidia and vice versa.... ...I'm too old for threads like this:)
(BTW : I even don't know what you are using right now!)
There are more than enough threads in this forum and about 1.000.000 reviews on others sites.
Here is a suggestion what you can do to find out if a more powerful GPU will bring you more Frames:
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1381103#post1381103
Before any one answers your question (lots of info is missing to decide...) - there is a very simple test to see if your CPU is the bottleneck , - and so you can decide if you will benefit from a new GPU.Run a track that is recorded in a campaign mission with a lots of battle going on.
Do this first on your normal setting with your system is in the exact same configuration (monitors/exports...)
- and than do it with all graphic settings are turned to low.
- If you have a better overall average FPS at the seconded run,...you can benefit from a GPU upgrade.
If the average (not the max!) is staying the similar/same - you should think about a CPU upgrade first - because a better GPU will only help you to turn on more GFX options on like HDR/AA... but it will not higher your FPS while the CPU is struggling with the calculations for the ongoing battle.
(that's why I call DCS a "framed" simulation)
If you running Multi monitors in a windowed configuration and want to have a boost for "free" :SoftTH NEWS
This will make it possible to run DCS in full-screen and even have Helios visible at your secondary screens.
more than 1GB V-ram helps if you run on very high resolutions/have more than one View-ports and/or more than one monitors. - if you only want to run 1 monitor in 1650x1080 - 1GB is sufficient.
One minor addition: if your datamining tool allows it, getting both median and average could be useful to inform you. -
Right , Ive decided on the normal version , Im running win7 64bit . I selected the CommandDialogsPanel.lua and CommandMenu.lua from the installation and let them overwrite the files . Ive backed up original files before letting new ones overwrite .
Good
OKThen Ive double clicked on the little green box "clickable radiomenu for DCS World 1.2.0. x64 normal.exe" and a box apears on the screen saying
That's seems the point when things went wrong - as it says:"an older version of this script is already running , to avoid this message, see single instance in the help file" .an older version of this script is already running
Means you run two instances of it...
That you have two of these "little green boxs" confirms this.Ok , I got 2 hidden icons , little green boxs , both with a "S" ..... should I delete the "S" one ? I cant , cuz the programe isnt showing up in my deinstall list ? .............. Ive gone grey !!
and a "S" means that the script is suspended and does nothing at all.
As I wrote in the read me - you have to hit [Win+R] to activate it.
-whatever-
I want you to do this:
1.
Check your notification tray if there is such a "little green boxs"
- if yes > right click on it (them) and choose "exit"
Make sure there is no instance of it running.
2.
Now right click on "Clickable RadioMenu for DCS World 1.2.0 x64 Normal.exe" and chose "open"
Now a massage box with this text should appear:
> click "OK"Clickable Radio Menu with Right-Mouse for DCS 1.2.0 .Press [Win+R] to switch the script ON/OFF.
(OFF by default)
IF you don't have a visible Mouse pointer e.g. Su-25T:
Open the "Score window" ['] and drag it in a corner. ([Ä] on a German Qwertz)
3.
Now start DCS world 1.2.0
4.
When the mission is running just hit [Win+R] and you have activated the script.- you hear also a sound that indicates it.
Further: The "little green box" will show a "H" for "Hotkey" and indicates that this script is now active.
Now you can click the Radio menu with the Right mouse button.
If you have still problems please check again if you followed this 4 steps in the right order and double-check that only one instance of this script is active.
Once you ended your DCS session you can simply hit [Win+R] to deactivate it or kill the process by right-clicking the little green box and exit it.

About V-ram and getting a new card:
Pleas first try the new settings before thinking about spending a lot of money to gain some fps.
If you afterwards still think about a change - run a similar test like this:

Many Thanks! - but have a look here:
I took care of it already :)
-
Things you should also have a look at:
vsync = vertical synchronisation
prevents tearing on monitors by limiting the refreshing of the output.
tssaa = Transparency Super-Sampling Anti-Aliasing
Has most effect on partial transparent textures like grass/bushes/trees/fences.
use this when you have a powerful GPU with at least 2GB V-ram
preload radius = can prevent stutters while the simulation is running
Area/objects/textures that will be loaded in the system ram .
You want to use a high setting when you have more than 6GB Ram and a 64Bit OS.
msaa = Multisample anti-aliasing
Edges becomes smoother - use high settings only on a powerful GPU.
You will be happy with x4 in most cases on a Full HD display.
MSAA and TSSAA are the biggest GPU vampires when you already low at V-ram.
If you have this also on "High" - switch TSSAA off and reduce MSAA to x4.
also check if you have "smoothing" on in softth - this will also somewhat lower your average frame-rate to prevent high jumps of them.
I have switched smoothing off - but I limited my fps to 30 in the config that Viper is mentioning. (It's always better to use the game engine first -as long it allows such adjustments - instead a second layered tool for it)
MaxFPS = 29 -- = 30 FPS , DCS starts counting at 0
A steady 30 FPS can be more pleasant for your Eyes/Brain as indicated 100FPS .
Here is a not uncommon example how 100FPS are calculated sometimes :
80Frames in the first half of a sec and 20Frames in the second half.
It's 100FPS ,but this will feel much worse than steady 30FPS.
(BTW: going higher than 60FPS on a Screen at 60Hz refresh makes no sense at all ... )
Read more about it here: FPS - explained
-
Stop chasing ghosts and switch of the FPS indicator...
Getting around 30fps with all on high @ 4480 x 1080 with 2GB V-ram sound very normal and good to me.

Did you tried this already?
http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Troubleshooting:starforce:5.x#I_cannot_find_my_serial_number
I cannot find my serial numberSerial Number location
- Box distributive: Yellow or white sticker with serial number should be on the back of small booklet: Quick Start Guide (Black Shark, Warthog) or Installation and Activation guide (Flaming Cliffs 2). It may be signed there as a reg code.
- Instant download distributive: Serial numbers are stored for you on the web site (make sure you're logged in).

E-shopOwnership of DCS title means ownership of a module (for example: A-10C, Black Shark 2, P-51D, or Combined Arms, etc.). In other words, people who earlier bought DCS: Black Shark 2 now own the DCS: Black Shark 2 module that operates within DCS World. The serial number you purchased for the product will work for any future versions of the product, including later module versions.
All current and future DCS modules must now be installed into DCS World. DCS World acts as a "core module" that all other DCS modules operate within. You can think of DCS World as our simulation operating system.

HDR = High Dynamic Range
Simulates in computer generated scenes the opening/closing of the iris in the eyes when lightning conditions change.
Some render engines simulate it very good some bad...
...DCS is somewhere in the middle.
You may want to try this: Realistic sun 1.2.3
edit:
When you use a analogue axis to slew the TGP:I need to somehow slow down the horizontal plane substantially so that I can actually use the tgp instead of having it make quick erratic movements every time I touch it. Thanks.
Lower the saturation of the axis in the A-10C axis settings to have more control .
BTW: The manuals and the forum-search function can be very handy sometimes.;)

as I wrote:"un-check "disable Aero interface" in the in- game options."
This will also solve the pointer problem.
-
Thanks.
@ Moderators
Please un-stick (or just close) this Thread to prevent more necromancy.
I will not start something similar again this year - as I don't have any "spare-parts" lying around any more. ... maybe 2013 again.
-
un-check "disable Aero interface" in the in- game options.
This will solve the "alt-tab" thing... and maybe also boost your performance when you run DCS in windowed mode.
-
Maybe he has attached some sort of drive to it and has a "Try to boot from USB" setting in the BIOS or something like this.
-
bagger ,
and what exactly happened?
...green-box ... are you talking of the exe or the notification icon?
...
are you still on 32bit? - the exe supports only 64 bit.
please give me every info that you might think is useful to debug your problem.
Edit:
