Update help! dcs patch a-10c

i brought the dcs a-10c warthog at a gaming shop(dvd).when i heard there was an update patch i noticed that the update patch was not sold by itself.how can i update the game without buying the whole on dcs download version?:helpsmilie:I hope Wags get this help message!

Right, you'd uninstall (not deactivate) your standalone versions. Then you'd download and install the DCS World versions of the same products. They should remain activated for you within DCS World.

Payment FAQ

Ownership of DCS title means ownership of a module (for example: A-10C, Black Shark 2, P-51D, or Combined Arms, etc.). In other words, people who earlier bought DCS: Black Shark 2 now own the DCS: Black Shark 2 module that operates within DCS World. The serial number you purchased for the product will work for any future versions of the product, including later module versions.

 

All current and future DCS modules must now be installed into DCS World. DCS World acts as a "core module" that all other DCS modules operate within. You can think of DCS World as our simulation operating system.

Bee_Sting, it is exactly as PeterP indicated:

First download and install DCS World 1.2.0

Then download and install the A-10C Module

Then install the linked hotfix

That's it.

Note: you are not installing this on top of your DVD install. All products are now merged into DCS World; so if you have Black Shark 2, you can also install the DCS World module for this. (NOTE: if you have BS2 "upgrade" license, make sure to use the "upgrade" module. If you have normal BS2 license, use non-upgrade module.)

After this, you will have both these products in the same game.

Note therefore that the DVD you have is not necessary, you will only use the license number from this, the DVD is not needed and will not work with DCS World. Therefore, you do NOT "patch" to the latest A-10C. What you do is, as PeterP indicated, install DCS World and then install A-10C module, using your existing license number.

Also, note that if you have Black Shark on DVD, then this is Black Shark 1. No, this will not work with World, and never will. Black Shark 2 is the one that has a DCS World module. If you want Black Shark in DCS World, you need a BS2 license. You can purchase a discounted version named "upgrade", this is half price. To install this, Black Shark 1 (from your DVD) must be installed and activated.

As stated in the post linked by PeterP, you copy/rename the ed_sound.dll file contained within the linked rar archive. You place it in the bin folder. Make sure to select the appropriate version - 32bit or 64bit. Which one is correct is decided by your operating system - if you have a 64-bit OS, use 64-bit version. If you do not know which version you have, check the license sticker on your computer. If you have no sticker, click Start, type "system" into the search field, select "System information", and then see "System Type".

Unpack the rar file. Select whichever version of the file is appropriate. Replace the existing file (after making a copy/backup of it).

I get it! the module is for earlier dcs verisons it a gateway to dcs world if you didn't buy it thru world!! where can i can the module for warthog? so do i use the same activation code that i got from buying the upgrade patch for dcs blackshark 2 or do i have to pay again?
