  1. A Huey in a Vietnam szenario would be brilliant. But until ED is swimming in cash and can pay several development teams in parallel I dont see this coming.
  2. Haven't tried it yet, but can we set the distance in a config file higher than 500? Not sure how much the impact is at the moment, but maybe it can be drawn with a way bigger radius without a performance hit.
  3. My suggestion would be a Thrustmaster Warthog or Saitek X52 Pro.
  4. Indeed, very nice! In fact it is so nice that he already has his own personal aircraft carrier dedicated to him! :megalol:
  5. Thanks Wags!
  6. I had my Black Shark manual printed and ring bound at http://www.1buch.com (German site, sorry), which was pretty nice and professional. And I would let them print and bind my Hog manual as well - but if ED wants to release it anyways then I can wait a little while longer. But in the end I need a printed manual.
  7. Actually I just wanted to create a new thread and ask the same question. :) 1) What is the state of the manual? Is it final or are you going to add more pages to it or rewrite stuff? 2) Any plans on a printed manual in the near future? :book: I am asking because I'd really like a printed book version of the manual. If your are going to release a printed version soon then I can wait a bit and dont need to print it myself.
  8. I just deleted my Beta install but the old logbook was saved somewhere in the MissionEditor directory. Something like MissionEditor/scripts/Logbook or something like that, and it's called logbook.lua. As this is only a simple text file you can open it with a simple text editor, take a look at your pilot's stats and copy some of them by hand to your new pilot logbook. Edit: Oh and make sure to make a backup copy of your new logbook, just in case. :)
  9. Yay! Great! \o/
  10. I think what you are looking for is saved as a bunch of small images in: \Bazar\Terrain\A-10C\Maps\TAD_COLLECTION.zip
  11. Yes, that's how it works in a real plane. But you can press the / and * keys on your numerical key block to zoom in or out.
  12. Mmmmmm, lots of juicy things for target practice... :music_whistling:
  13. I'd say that without a doubt we will see a lot more gaming happening on Macs in the future. Apples market share is continously increasing -- and with good reason. And now there is Steam on the Mac. When I installed Steam I was surprised how many games I already own that word on the Mac. As you might have guessed I am one of those happy Mac guys and I'd love to see more games for it. But at the moment a native Windows PC is hands down the better system for playing modern games and there is now way that a VM can replace it. But for everything else it gets blown out of the water by Macs, IMHO.
  14. Well said, Moa.
  15. What I remember best from "Warthog" is their description of crossing the Atlantic. That sounded rather intense and scary. :)
  16. Why? Virtual Machines are not for gaming in the first place, despite all the stuff the marketing guys say. If you can run older games in a virtual machine, great, but dont expect newer games to run as good as they would on the real machine. If ED really wanted to help people running their sims on the Mac they should consider a native Mac port. True, that would be great but I suppose that the Mac sim market is rather slim at the moment. So that would be a lot of wasted time on ED's part. Does any one know what percentage of X-Plane users run it on a Mac rather than Windows? That's a big bunch of crap. And this isn't the place for discussing which system sucks more, anyways.
  17. If they could provide some additional value for subscribers then, yes, I would be fine with a small monthly fee. But I honestly dont see what this additional value should be? I think the Rise of Flight model is pretty interesting. But then again this wouldn't be possible for DCS. I dont see ED releasing new planes every couple of month. (Although I'd love to. F-16 please? Pretty please? ) But who knows, maybe they can come up with some nice ideas. Maybe the Flight Simulator model might work, where you can buy terrain/regional or airport packages that improve certain parts of the world/map.
  18. I was using this one for my i7 920: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overclocking/22106-core-i7-overclocking-guide-beginners.html
  19. Well, from the beta 4 manual, chapter "Navigation", page 452: "As mentioned in the previous section, the CDU database can hold up to 2,050 waypoints, but when a waypoint is selected, it does not provide steering information on the HUD, TAD or HSI. To do so, you must set a selected waypoint as the Steerpoint. There can only ever be one Steerpoint at a time."
  20. Fantastic video. :)
  21. But it was a good laugh. :)
  22. Oh noes, woe is me. Missing an epic thread like this. Serves me right for not reading ED forum for a week. :music_whistling:
  23. Oh yes please. Pretty please.
  24. Brilliant, cant wait. :)
  25. Yeah the wingman AI is absolutely annoying at the moment. In my last couple missions I couldn't get him to attack ANYTHING!
