best hotas/joystck for lock on

Take a look at this mate.... FREE HOTAS -
With a bit of luck, Amazon will be delivering my TMWH any day now, and I would very much like to donate my MINT Saitek X52PRO to someone who really fancies one, but genuinely can't afford to buy one. I was thinking of allsorts of ideas of how to go about this and in the end, I figured I'd pull a name out of the hat!! To get your name into the "hat", you just need to make a small donation to Martin House Children's Hospice (they looked after my son). When filling in their donation-page, please put "Michael McQuiggan" in the " In Memory Of " field. Delivery to the UK Mainland will be arranged by me and will be completely free. Sadly, delivery overseas must be paid for by the other party (Interparcel are good for this). So, drop me a PM and let me know that you made your donation to the hospice - then your name's in the hat! The winner will be drawn next Sunday (7th Nov) If I've overlooked something, please let me know. Regards, Tom. UPDATE : UPDATE: UPDATE: I'm also going to include my FULL COLOUR Black Shark printed manuals!!!! Go on, take a chance and make a small donation. And don't worry, I won't don't want to know how much you gave - any small amount helps the hospice (they don't get government funding!).

Hahaha, just noticed he gave me a negative reputaion marker to boot! I won't reciprocate obviously - that would be childish.

Jeez, cool down mate. I made a post in the I/O section relating to the Thrustmaster Joystick (an input/output device) support service. No need to refer to people as "You people" or "stupid"! I do hope that we don't need to fall out. Tom

Hahaha don't worry Phoenix, it was just a typo LOL

I disagree Mr Mower. I've bought allsorts of hardware from them over the years including a Nikon D300 kit, X45, X52PRO, Kindle and God knows what else and it's all been delivered without a hitch and bang on time. Mind you, this is the first Pre Order I've done with them. Let's just see if their despatch date of 29th Oct overruns. :music_whistling:

And you just added to it! (albeit with poor grammar and spelling) ;)
-
Well, you might have guessed it.... telephone support in the English speaking countries is FREE except in rip-off Britain of course! :music_whistling: taken from the TMWH Manual.....

You understood me perfectly Revelation.

All New Pilot Log Might seem a little oddlball, but I'd like to see a new kind of Pilot Log where not only active duty is recorded, but also EXPENDITURE! We can all go around crashing and burning aircraft and throwing missiles to the floor like they were empty sweet-wrappers, but what about the cost to the tax-payer?? You'd be thrown out of the forces if you acted that way in real life! It'd be nice to be assigned a unique aircraft which you would use throughout your career - until you ditched it. Then a new aircraft costing $12M (or whatever they cost) would be logged against you. Presumably, you'd become kinda "attached" to your aircraft and would be loathe to lose her after she's pulled you through some tight spots. Ordnance too could be logged, to discourage you from launching $150,000 AGM-65 in a carefree manner - that way you would be more inclined to develop your skills! Or am I crazy? Tom

Saitek X-52 or Thrustmaster Cougar?
MadDogMcQ replied to dane48's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Personally, I don't see the point in buying a Cougar Hotas right now. What are they? £180?? And then you've still got a product that needs money throwing at it. I'd rather spend a little on a mint secondhand X52PRO and start saving up to buy the TM Warthog when funds permit. As soon as my Warthog arrives (should be end of Oct according to Amazon), then I'll be selling my X52PRO for £50. An absolute bargain!! -
Saitek X-52 or Thrustmaster Cougar?
MadDogMcQ replied to dane48's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just to respond to Griffin's comments, yes, the CH stuff is good too - in fact, I used a CH FlightStick Pro for years and it was fantastic. Their full-spec hotas stuff though, is a tad expensive. I've had Saiteks for years too (X36, X45) and the early ones could be a pain in the ass due to their weak software, but since the X52 came along, they've been wonderful. And the quality of their hardware has never been in doubt (for the price). -
Saitek X-52 or Thrustmaster Cougar?
MadDogMcQ replied to dane48's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Dane, only consider the opinions of those people who've owned BOTH setups - otherwise, it's an unbalanced view, isn't it? I've owned both and I can say that I did a hell of a lot more flying with the X52 than I did with the Cougar. I found the Cougar to be pain in the ass to setup and there were a lot of "spikes". Owners spent a great deal of money upgrading their equipment to get it to work properly. The X52 PRO on the other hand, has worked flawlessly from the box and was amazingly cheap to purchase. I have ordered the new TM WartHog HOTAS and will be selling my X52PRO, because the new TM is what the old Cougar should have been! If you're on a budget, go for the Saitek X52 PRO every time. Tom. -
I have the Kindle3, but still got the manual printed! The kindle is a BRILLIANT for regular ebooks but I don't think it's good enough with PDFs.
-
I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I meant to order it as an eBook for my Kindle, but got distracted and ended up with a hardcopy, grrrr!

As others have said, you should REALLY start off in SIM mode. No point wasting months in Game mode, only to feel like you're starting from scratch when you move onto Sim mode. Most online squadrons will run their missions in Sim Mode, so if you want to join in, you'll be miles behind everyone else.

Hahahaha - YES! :(
