I am not sure if it has been reported, but since the big update the search light always illuminates the ground, even with the search light off. In fact, with limited troubleshooting I was not able to turn on the search light.

Works great on the Mirage F-1 as well

Not sure if it has ever been seriously considered, but it would be great if maneuvering kills were a part of the game. Specifically against AI opponents. I can't count how many times they have planted in the dirt while evading me in a dogfight. I assume if the logic they are executing is against you, be it defensive or offensive, at the time they impact terrain with no damage, then it could be a credited kill. Of course, if they are damaged, then the credit would go to whoever caused the damage. F-5Es in particular seem to be prone to CFIT. Anyway happy hunting. Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions. I am going to test out Dros' response and see if that reproduces it for me.

Fair question. I did hold the button down. That was a lesson learned very early using the F1. Also I’ll go ahead and mention I tried with radar lock, without radar, good audible tone, launch cues blaring in my headset, master arm on, off, on again, select another hard point, back again.. I had time to try a few things and position the Mig at different spots. I even toggled that automatic launch switch. I have never used that before and honestly I don’t think that’s even compatible with the heat missiles but I tried it nevertheless and that Magic didn’t want to go.

Sometimes I get situations where no matter what I try, heat seeking missiles will not release on a locked target. Today, on a multiplayer server I square off BVR against two Mig-25s in the Sinai map. We exchange x2 AA-6 Acrid and x2 S530Fs with no hits, merge to visual and I nail him with a Magic 2 shot. I immediately turn to the wingman and shortly thereafter lock him up and go to fire my last Magic II... Nothing. Multiple attempts. I damage him with guns and he gives up on life and eventual drops to a few hundred feet AGL and makes a run for his nearest base at 200 knots. I park my Mirage on his six and proceed to go through every scenario I can think of to get the second Magic to fire. No joy. It's not the first time I have had this. I have a track file from the 'Through the Inferno - Sinai' server but it is over 130 mb so I cant post it here. It is available upon request though. Mind you I start off in the F-16 for a sortie and A-A refuel, so it takes a while to get to the mentioned engagement with the MiG-25s.

The switch will not stay in the forward position when I engage the switch using my winwing throttle binding. If I click on the switch with my mouse, I can see it stay forward. If I use my throttle binding button, I can see it immediately return to the aft position. There were many occasions where I could never get the engine relit, maybe 90% of the time, and once I discovered this bug, I am able to relight 100% of the time now. Even with a keybind, the switch will not remain in the forward air start position. Only a mouse click seems to work right now. Tested in F1B, F1C and F1E.

I have been flying the F1 exclusively for several months now and it has unexpectedly become my favorite module. What a beautiful plane and a great addition to DCS, great work Aerges. The sense and feel of the speed and the old school tech are very satisfying to master. I’m watching videos and reading up on this airplane and its history, that’s how much I have gotten into it. Let me say again, great work Aerges! There are a few things I would like to add to the wishlist for this module, and forgive me if these have been mentioned or are already in work. The wishlist: Toggle bindings for all functions, vs only separate on off bindings (canopy controls are one example, but many others) Automatic safety covers option ( jettison, master arm, etc) Ability to add remove weapons pylons including wingtip rails without adding weapons Axis for radar elevation Trim reset / recenter binding Ground crew can remove install chocks with engines running Aircrew animations PHIMAT Dummy refuel probe option for F1BE in mission editor (?) Dual GBU-12s on center and wing pylons F1CG sidewinders option (let this be a complete celebration of the F1, and bring ATLIS, AS-30, Exocet, and AS-37 while you’re at it) no one else is going to do it! Give yourselves a high five

DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis
Kj_flyguy replied to Eight Ball's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Speedbrake, on the real aircraft the engine generators only supply power when they are up-sped, ie, not in low speed ground idle. Up-speeding the engines should bring the generators online (if it is like the real thing). Turning off the APU before up-speeding the engines cuts off your only AC power source. -
It might be under wing pylon 1 textures.. on the bottom left side.. I cant confirm at the moment EDIT: I am referring to "F16_bl50_Wing_Pylon_1.dds". Pretty sure that's it in the bottom left.

DCS: F-16C Viper Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)
Kj_flyguy replied to wilbur81's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I just finished a new livery pack for the YF-16 prototypes! Hope Viper fans enjoy them https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311810/ -
In this case, WR was not held, nor was it stuck
-
Another example, this being an AIM-9X shot while switching into DGFT. I hope it is helpful.
-
I verified there is only one other button combination that can pickle, and that’s the default RAlt+Space. This seems to happen when the bombing mode somehow gets ‘stuck’ and then cycling different AA and AG modes. For example, I had an AIM-9X launch when going from CCRP laser bombing with GBU-12s into DGFT. I have also had random GBU-12s drop in the same manner as in this video. Thanks for the idea though.
-
I suspected that too at first. I have two flightsticks, a Thrustmaster and an old Extreme 3D Pro, and this has occurred on both. So for me that ruled out sticky buttons. It’s also worth noting that this has never happened on any other module.

[CANNOT REPRODUCE, MISSING TRACK] CCIP cursor thrown to the right
Kj_flyguy replied to Frag's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have had a similar issue (but also uncommanded weapons released): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=281575 -
Video: I have been having random uncommanded weapons releases in the Viper over the last couple of months and I have finally been able to capture it. A little background: CCIP mode, Master Arm 'ON' throughout the video. My jet is carrying six Mk 82 Snakeyes. I complete two successful CCIP bomb runs, dropping Snakeyes in pairs. After the second bomb run, at 1:20, note the behavior of the CCIP reticle. It goes off-scale to the right and then left of the HUD. During my third pass, I attempt to cycle between air-to-ground modes, STRF, CCRP, and then back to CCIP in an effort to fix the indication. At 2:00, while switching to CCRP from STRF, both remaining Mk 82s release, without input. You can hear the bombs release, and as indicated on the SMS page, zero Mk 82s remain. I have had AIM-120 and AIM-9X releases after CCIP and CCRP laser bombing as well. Has anyone seen this behavior and is it possibly something I am doing?

Just completed a new livery for the Operation Moolah Mig-15 '616' and it is now available: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309462/ '616' was a North Korean MiG-15 until its pilot defected to Kimpo Airbase, South Korea, in 1953. This livery depicts '616' during 11 days of testing at Kadena Air Base, Japan, immediately following the defection. Operation Moolah was an effort by the US government to pay $100K to any defecting MiG-15 pilot. '616' was a North Korean MiG-15 until its pilot defected to Kimpo Airbase, South Korea, in 1953. The aircraft was promptly tested and evaluated for all strengths and weaknesses at Kadena Air Base. Its pilot, Lt. No Kum-Sok, was eventually rewarded with the promised $100 and political asylum. '616' now resides permanently in the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The aircraft is on display in its original North Korean Air Force markings. I hope you enjoy it.
