Was able to get a track file showing the problem. Here it is along with the last log file. Normandy map, P-47 Hot start. you can start seeing it as I approach large town with the large fires. Closer I get the more frequent it happens. About 3+ minutes into the mission. In cockpit view. Thanks, Marv dcs.log flashing.trk

You are not the only one seeing this. I am seeing this as well on the Normandy map. It seems not to be map specific. Thanks for the video, might be related to explosion rendered graphics? https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=245838&d=1598461443 More here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=284685 Marv

Thank You! Then I am not the only one seeing this. I did an update here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=284685 I wish someone from ED would acknowledge and pass it along to the team. Marv

Starting a new thread here as I don't want to be hijacking a couple of other threads on a similar topic. Instead of rehashing everything all over again, here's a couple of links to what I am experiencing with the Yellow/Orange screen flashing, and a quick screenshot; https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283793 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283756 As suggested, I have since updated my 446.14 NVIDIA driver to 452.06. Results are the same, no change. I still have the Yellow/Orange Flashing on the Normandy Map. These are on the previous 2 OB updates. 2.5.6.53756 and 2.5.6.54046 This is what I did to try and resolve it. Updated driver to 452.06. No change Ran a repair. No change Windows is up to date No O'Clocking on my video card. So I decided to roll back 2 versions to the latest OB/Stable. 2.5.6.52437 just to prove to myself that I'm not crazy. Guess what? I had no flashing or graphic problems. So I believe something definitely has changed. What it is, i have no idea. I'm attaching the last log files for each version. I still suspect it's in the WWII asset pack, flak bursts or maybe the new aircraft damage effects. Caucasus, PG, Nevada maps I don't see this. But I don't fly the WWII planes on them either. As an OB user, I'm trying to explain or provide as much info as I can to the Devs. Please let me know what else I can provide. Thanks, Marv dcs - 52437.zip dcs - 54046.log

53756 update causing lots of flashing when clouds on?
MarvK replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in 2D Video Bugs
No mods installed. Uploaded the log file and more descriptions here; https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283756 -
Attached log file. If it matters, DCS doesn't crash. It's just a random flashing that occurs. It seems to be more prevalent during combat or over areas that have flack. (WWII) So thinking WWII assets pack? Not running any mods, terrain graphics or any other. I honestly have no clue where to look. I just find it hard to believe that I am the only one seeing this. If I fly toward a highly active area, with air AA defenses (flak) or dogfights it's far more often. If I fly away from the area, it almost stops completely. I thought today's patch would fix it, but it didn't. :( :helpsmilie: dcs.log

Managed to capture a screenshot of what I'm seeing. I find it hard to believe I'm the only one seeing this. :( This is after today's patch, .54046 and deleting FXO and Metashaders2 files. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=245838&d=1598461443

53756 update causing lots of flashing when clouds on?
MarvK replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in 2D Video Bugs
Have any of you had the yellow/orange flashes? I tried to save a track file, but i always get an error saying “can’t open last track” or something to that effect. I will say though, when I get the yellow/orange flashes, it seems to be above the horizon. So maybe it is cloud related? This is on the Normandy map as well. I think it might be related to the WWII flak effects, or the new damage model effect. I can’t seem to pin it down on one specific thing. I will try turning off the nvidia setting and see if it makes a difference. -
Not sure about the others as I don’t have the Channel map, but I do have the yellow/ orange flashes happening in the Normandy map. At first I thought it was the P-47, but it happens with the Spit and Mustang too. I suspect it has to do with the new flame/smoke damage Model effects. But I only noticed it in the WWII birds? Jets appear so far, to be unaffected. I will try to get a track file up as soon as I can.

In the settings page, there is an option to use “Cockpit Global Illumination”. In version 2.5.5 and earlier, I distinctly remember that having it unchecked, that I would gain a few fps. But in 2.5.6 it doesn’t matter if it’s checked or not. It’s always on. No big deal, but if I can gain a few more fps, the opportunity is no longer there. Does anyone else notice the difference?

Parking brakes have been driving me nuts since the P-47 was launched. :dontgetit: I could never get them to set. All the while I’ve been fully depressing brake pedals. Just by lightly tapping on them With the handle pulled works every time now! Thanks Nealius! :smilewink:

This!!! Wait until the pipper starts to unwide. Then you should be in more accurate range. I haven't tried it yet, as I had to do a complete reinstall of DCS after yesterday's update. :(

Mine was looking at the correct drive where I have DCS, So I continued with the update. I walked away while it was downloading and came back to these errors on the screen. Now when I try to run the updater, it stops at trying to delete the dll files, and it can’t find DCS.EXE. At a loss on what to do now.

Chuck's P-47D Thunderbolt Guide
MarvK replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt Tutorials
Outstanding as always. Thank you for all the time and effort it takes to put into these guides. I use them for all the modules I have. :smilewink: Marv -
Tonight was just me and a buddy, private server. Played 4 hrs with no problems. Then I went into the mission editor and was on Persian Gulf map and started zooming in. Crash!!! Log file attached.:( Thanks dcslog.zip

Ever since the latest update, OB 2.5.6.50979, I have been having numerous CTD's. I have no clue where to even look for the problem. BigNewy, each time I look at the log, it seems there is something different. Not enough Memory, graphic driver stops working, can't load this or that...... This time it wouldn't even load the mission. Seems to be mostly when I'm on a MP server. This time though it was SP. Not sure if it's MP, or mission scripting. I've done the cleanup, repair and removed all mods per your signature and it seems to not help. Attaching latest log file. Please Help! :helpsmilie: Marv dcs.log dcs.log-20200623-171049.zip

These are the textures I have after today's patch for the MIG-21. Hope you can see the green hue on several of them. Unless I'm missing something? :(

From the 2 pics in the first post, unless I’m looking at them wrong, it looks like the analog version is already modeled, or well under way? I would be ok with the analog.

I am also not able to use the LSO camera. I assume it is tied to the mouse look view? I have all the mouse camera controls turned off as it interfered with the cockpit pan view. I use my hat switch to pan around the cockpit. I assumed it would be the same for the LSO station? :(

You’re almost there. You need to press TDC action button. To confirm, your crosshair on the left MFD will close in tight. Also, need to be inside 8 mile range.
