  1. Headspace - we're having the same issues as JaBoG32_Laud above, submitted a bug report and log on the TARS website. I did make sure the .ddl version was correct. Also did a fresh install of TS and TARS tonight and still have these issues (extreme static even at close, visual range and inaudible beyond 15 nm or so).
  2. Glad you liked it, xilol...thanks for the reply!
  3. I should add that for anyone interested in flying as live-AFAC, this is a great mission for it, though certainly not required. We've been flying it in our squadron all week and it really tests your situational awareness as well as communications skills.
  4. Six clients. FYI...Hawg 1 is an AFAC-mostly loadout...M156's and M151's. Hawgs 2-4 are rockets and CBU 87s. Hawg 5 & 6 carry an additional 2 Mavs, but Mavs are not weapon of choice given the mission conditions and targets (infantry, lightly armored vehicles, mortars, etc).
  5. MP Mission: "FOB Vetka" Over the past month, insurgent forces have taken a foothold in the northern mountain regions. Forward Operating Base (FOB) Vetka is under increasing sniper and mortar fire each day, and SIGINT sources indicate an attack on FOB Vetka could be imminent. This afternoon, a friendly resupply convoy, call sign Yankee 61, was enroute to FOB Vetka but experienced mechanical delays. At this time Yankee 61 is again moving up valley but will not make the FOB by nightfall. With recent insurgent activity in the valley, contact should be expected. ------------------------------------------ TASK 1. Meet up with friendly convoy Yankee 61 near the town of Ambrolauri (WP1) and provide CAS, if needed. Yankee 61 will be contacting you once on station. TASK 2. Proceed to FOB Vetka (WP2) and remain on station for CAS, if needed. Texaco is available north of Kutaisi, 150.0 AM, TACAN 10X. Overlord (AWACS) is available on 124.0 AM. Emergency CAS mission with 10,500 ft cloud cover. Requires heavy use of Mark I eyeball, rockets, guns, and efficient communications between flight members. *** NOW UPDATED TO v2.0 *** - current for DCSW 1.1.1.0 - minor edits/fixes - major tweaks to second portion of the mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99420/
  6. As for the AFAC/FAC/JTAC, I got so frustrated in the last mission I made that I finally decided to have the JTAC killed in a massive fireball (simulated mortar attack), then the players had to pick up the targets visually based on some voice-over radio calls. Realistic scenario, you know, and brought me great joy. ;)
  7. I think you are underestimating people's ability to manually enter coordinates. It really is very easy once you done it a few times...if anything, you should encourage people to learn how to do it by incorporating it into missions...adds to the realism and enjoyment. :)
  8. Confirmed this fix is working for me with the new 280.26 driver.
  9. Hundreds of hours so far...ridiculous value for $60. Though, on a side note, Thrustmaster should be giving a portion of their proceeds to DCS. Of the thousands of Warthogs they've sold for $500 per, how many were sold to people who weren't flying DCS? :D
  10. Thanks for all the hard work, Headspace.
  11. If you read "A-10's Over Kosovo" and/or stories of current ops in Afghanistan (the Harrier book, "A Nightmare's Prayer") ...first thing they do in every mission after taking off...they hit the tanker. I assumed they were just topping off after whatever they spent taking off, so they could be full as they started their combat patrol but also heard recently that it's cheaper to fly the fuel in on a KC-135 than truck it in over land, at least when it comes to places like Kabul. Thus, their jets weren't taking off full. Thought that was interesting.
  12. LOL. I almost posted there, too. Ok, found the TAD maps (bazaar/terrrain/A-10C/Maps/), Rabbit...good tip. I like that style for realism. And will use the threater one you provided for the overview Paul. Thanks guys.
  13. You know, the area I want to make a map of is very accurate in Google Earth to what's in the sim...it would almost work!...except it goes into a low-res tile just were I need to zoom in.
  14. Well duh. I knew the in-sim screenies went there, but for whatever reason just didn't think of screen shots from the editor going there as well. Many thanks.
  15. How are you guys creating maps from the mission editor to use for briefings? Screen-print doesn't seem to work when in the mission editor for me. Thanks for any help!
  16. Yup, works like a CHARM with the 275.33 driver :-)
  17. Curious what driver version you guys are using...I had reverted to 270.61 because the 275.X was creating polygonal funkiness in the TGP, but perhaps the "3AFR" fix only works with the new driver?? Will investigate...:-)
  18. Did a "restore" in Nvidia Control Panel both for Blackshark and globally to clean it out, then also did a "restore" in Inspector, then proceeded to only change the SLI Rendering Mode to the AFR_OF_SFR_FALLBACK_3AFR option (see below). Still not fixing cloud flickering, TGP flickering. Hmmm...any other ideas? Could it not be working because I am not currently using Surround?? Might have to try a variety of settings...certainly what you've shown is that it's achievable...
  19. Tried AFR_OF_SFR_FALLBACK_3AFR using Nvidia Inspector and unfortunately still getting cloud flickering, TGP flickering (when not on "every frame). Did not work for me (specs below). I usually run Surround with three monitors but had one go out this week, so this was with a single-monitor display. Confirmed AFR settings in Inspector and that this then changed my Nvidia Control Panel SLI rendering mode to "Custom", so should have worked. Any other ideas? Thanks for all the hard work on this...
  20. Dead on. Some people like to zoom in, some like to zoom out, some freeze Track IR, some don't, etc etc. I went from thinking it was impossible to now filling up on one attempt...with a LOT of practice...definitely the most gratifying experience of this sim! Stick with it and you will be rewarded!
  21. Excellent, thanks!
  22. Seemed like the tanker track is a much gentler (albeit way longer) turn...makes it easier to stay connected through the turn.
  23. awesome. glad I was around the boards this morning.
  24. Looks awesome, Speed, even with borked arty.
  25. Just ran it with four A-10's...excellent mission, love the ILS requirement...though only 2 of us made it back through the soup.
