  1. I took and look there is no external serial, model, or version # of any sort that I could find. Unfortunately, I don't have the packaging anymore, so can't pull any info from that either. I bought them from costcentral.com in November.
  2. :helpsmilie: 8 buttons on one of my new Cougar MFDs just suddenly went dead...has anyone here had this issue and/or any experience with Thrustmaster Tech Support? Just sent them an email through their website but thought I recall hearing bad things about TM tech support. Their US phone number just went to a recording (despite being in the listed business hours).
  3. Happening to me, too GTX 460.
  4. I built a system with 2x 460 a couple of months ago and I've found that as noted above, there is zero benefit from running in SLI in DCS A-10. If you are only using one monitor, definitely no reason to get a second nVidia card since you don't even get an FPS bump when handing PhysX to the second card. When I send the MFCDs to a second monitor, I have also noticed that its better FPS wise to run both the main and secondary monitor through your primary GPU, not having the monitors split between two GPUs. I actually get 4-5 FPS better when running both monitors through one card and having that card also handle PhysX - essentially shutting down the second card. Someone explain that one to me ;-) So, unless you are planning on using more than two monitors, I would go for the 1x 570 or 580.
  5. Alright, wish me luck in fantasy football this weekend. If I win, the prize $$$ will cover a TM Warthog purchase...:-)
  6. Great mission - thanks Bahger. First time using realistic radios and the LSS for me...great immersion with the firefight. Was fun watching everything unfold from safe distance through the TGP while I waited for Axeman.
  7. So what you are telling me is I just need to log some serious flight hours here very quickly so it'll fall to pieces and then I can justify the TM WH purchase? :D I'm as surprised as anyone this thing has held together this long, though it's probably only a couple hundred flying hours. I am prepared for the inevitable...
  8. Still using my stock Cougar and really no complaints at all. The few minor issues (loose throttle, rotaries) are more than made up by the feel of metal. Unfortunately, everything is still working rather well after a couple years of use. Hoping something breaks soon so I can justify purchasing the WH :) I could never go back to a plastic joystick/HOTAS...just couldn't do it.
  9. the driver/update and Track IR runs fine for me, but still not recognized in-game (64 bit A-10, beta 3).
  10. Not working for me either. Track IR running fine with the v4 update, but not recognized in game.
  11. The NP driver loaded fine, track IR running, but A10 64-bit isn't recognizing it (ie: Track IR not working and not showing up in the in-game controls settings)
  12. "but you will know when you have screwed it up" Yes, yes you will! LOL That was fun. Will need to go back and try to complete it. Couldn't keep up with the reinforcements. Other than working the runway/taxiway trick you mentioned in your brief (which CTD twice until I realized the workaround), had no stability issues, which is a relief in any Beta 3 mission.
  13. it's fairly easy to set up a nice, steady-altitude orbit just using the trim to set the bank/pitch. not sure how realistic it is, but an easy solution for the beta 3 porpoising. i can do that and just look up from the MFCDs every 30 seconds or so to make any minor adjustments.
  14. that is awesome...can't wait to see it at night. Might have to park my Hog somewhere near the Spearmint Rhino for a hydraulics check ;)
  15. I believe a good way to think of it is (and I believe how its written in the manual) is that there is ALWAYS an SPI. It starts/defaults to the waypoint unless you change it with the TAD, TGP, Mav, etc.
  16. Note that to confirm you've activated EAC during start up (since the switch doesn't move yet), you can watch the EAC light on the caution light panel go out when you activate.
  17. This is great...been wanting to figure out the programs. Thanks!
  18. (Oh! No AAA but the BMP's are deadly if you get too close) First time I ran that mission I got enough trouble from the T-55's to take out an MFCD and cause a heap of trouble! I was not expecting to get shot at on a "training" mission. Before I upgraded my PC this week (holy 60 FPS goodness), I would run the "Smerch Hunt" mission out of Mozdok just to do some ramp start/taxi/takeoff training - seemed to get about as good as FPS there as anywhere since its rather barren.
  19. Same problem here, reinstalling DX9c worked. Thanks Wags.
  20. 27 min to finish downloading = the last 27 min of work i'll get done today.
  21. in most campaign missions you can see the border line on the abris map that designates friendly/enemy territory. when you use the shkval to line up a target, you'll see where on the map you are viewing. typically, if the unit is across the border in enemy territory, fire away. another trick, if you are not sure friend or foe, is to select the target in question and command your wingman to attack the target. he'll reject your command if its friend. of course, situational awareness is much preferred.
  22. so, with regards to the basic flight video above (notes #3)...to perform those maneuvers so clean, what do you think he had engaged for autopilot settings? just bank and pitch? flight director mode?? no way could I do it that smooth right now with my skills, and he doesn't seem to be fighting any corrective autopilot measures.
  23. well, it was a great weekend of configuring/flying/crashing/burning! this forum saved me weeks of pain, no doubt - i would have been completely stuck without it. everything is working smoothly now, and i can actually fly this thing! Well, sort of... Best game ever. Of course, only until the A-10 module comes out.
  24. BS: downloaded. TrackIR4, Couger HOTAS, CH Pro-Pedals: Just delivered by UPS to front door. Weekend Plans: Got a lot of configuring to do! First post...thanks to everyone for all the helpful tips posted!
