+1 - Yes the mission message are SOOOO big and distracting - all the graphical UI elements are to be honest (chat too). Glying on a TTI server just makes me nuts with how large the AWACS reports are - it takes up the entire right side of the view. Would love to see a UI scale slider in the settings

Thanks Caliboy - That did the trick. I reset the center position in the Oculus UI and now the recenter for the Oculus and DCS match up. I think I am good. Just not sure if I will have to do that each time or not, but either way that helps a ton.

Is there any way to prevent the center position from changing from what I set it to? My view is constantly recentering itself somewhere forward and left of the cockpit (outside the plane). This happens when I lift the headset to look at something. It's so frustrating...

Hi All - since the 2.6 update I have experienced an incredibly huge performance problem in VR (not sure if it occurs in non-VR). I have found what may be the issue for me: AWACS On my own server, I created a training mission with tons of targets for practice and it worked great. Then, as soon as I was about finished with it, I added an AWACS and suddenly I was down to 1-2 FPS. What's more strange, this lag appears to also extend to windows where I am seeing the same terrible performance simply moving the cursor around the desktop. I then removed the AWACS from my mission and performance was fine again. This may be what a lot of other people are seeing if they only ever play MP servers that have AWACS present.

Rockeye and Interval causing a horizontal CCIP line Does this just not work how I expect, or is this a bug? When I try to set a QTY and INT of Rockeyes in the Hornet, the CCIP line displays horizontally across the screen. Interestingly, if I set the interval to one, two or three feet - it works fine. Anything above 3 foot interval causes the CCIP line to be horizontal. When this happens I can still drop the bombs, and they do have what appears to be the proper interval, however, I obviously can't aim them. I tried the same thing with the MK82 and it worked fine.

According to page 136 in the manual, switch to dogfight mode should select the AIM 9. That doesn't seem to happen and it seems the only possible way to select it if the AIM120 is selected is to press the button on the MFD which is a bit tough to do in VR and my AMRAAAM just missed ;)

VR-Only here - can there please be a clickspot to open/close the canopy? Cant seem to find one.

I have the MI8 and Huey and love them both. I also got the gazelle recently and am disappointed to the point that I’ll probably never fly it. I had to use YouTube just to make sense of the first training mission. Then after I could start up and take off I move to the second training mission one the first thing it tells you to do is put it in autohover. No where in the first mission as that mentioned so back to google... Can anyone can recommend a good video series on this? I’ve found a few random ones but nothing in depth.

This just started last night and was not related to any DCS update. It worked fine for me yesterday during the day but when I started last night I have a new problem. When DCS starts up, the mouse cursor is stuck on the edge of the screen somewhere. I can see it right at the edge and when I move the mouse it twitches a bit but stays stuck right where it is. Non-VR mode works fine and the standard version (non open beta) of DCS also works fine. I've tried: Restarting DCS Restarting Computer Unplugging mouse Unplugging my other devices Alt-tabbing and coming back, however what's interesting is if the DCS window is not in focus and I move the mouse over the window I can see the DCS dot cursor on the screen moving normally. But the moment I click in the DCS window it jumps back to the edge Messing with the Oculus controls Messing with my flight controls Any other ideas? DCS is now unplayable and I really dont wont to spend a night reinstalling everything

I took it to mean it wouldn't be hard to make it better than it is.

I will forgive them if they get fixed :) From what I saw of the campaign, I do actually like it (if I assume it functions, of course). I like the back story and it seemed really well done in regards to plot and depth. I will look forward to it being functional in 2.5 and start it over. I suppose I just have no way of knowing when it's actually functional aside from checking the forums every few weeks or months?

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I agree that the best time I ever had in DCS was doing a mission multiplayer but I have no friends that are into this kind of thing. A squadron would be nice but I have sort of a weird schedule and am not available evenings until about 9 eastern time. I am also an avid simmer and have tens of thousands of hours logged in FSX/P3D. I am a pilot in real life (for fun, not professional) and really really love the potential that DCS offers. That's why I don't want to give up on it (again). I have made a few missions and actually like doing that (I am a programmer in RL) but it's not fun to fly your own missions, lol. You know how to cheat! I also fly exclusively in VR and love the A-10. Last time I was really into this I got really good at the A-10. I still remember most of it but need to get fast and fluid again. Thanks for the Advice on the Mi8 - can anyone confirm that it is functional (or more specifically the missions/campaign) in 2.5 though? I see the oilfield campaign and border conflict campaign, do they work? Also can anyone recommend any functional single player missions? Especially if they are different almost every time. Thanks again for the feedback, I'm a little less frustrated now!

From reading all the comments it seems everyone is really loving the new DCS 2.5. I am just curious what you are doing? I have owned DCS for years but could never stay all that into it because stuff invariably wouldn't work. With all the 2.5 hype and good things on the horizon, I was finally excited to dive in and enjoy it. I started with the Huey UN Pilot campaign which was great except for one mission where I had to manually edit the waypoints because the AI helicopter kept crashing into trees (obviously not tested in 2.5 as it crashed into the exact same tree every time). After finishing that, I bought the Argo campaign and the frustrations came flooding back. Of the first five missions, I had to manually edit my logbook to skip two of them due to the swinging cargo bug. Then the sixth mission starts you literally inside of another helicopter and you instantly crash. If I had downloaded this off some website I'd be less annoyed but I paid money for this campaign on the DCS website and it's clear no one had even tested it one time before proclaiming it to be 2.5 compatible. I really do like the sim. Everything seems really well done except any content whatsoever. What am I missing? I will literally buy any of the add-ons if I knew they work. I love the Huey and the A-10C. I fly in VR so helicopters are particularly fun to me. The Gazelle maybe? I am really looking forward to all the A-10 training campaigns, I need to brush up on that plane and that sounds like a great way to do it right before I pick up some campaigns and of course the Persian Gulf map when it is ready. Please help me figure out how to enjoy this. I know it's great and I am desperate to enjoy it but I don't want to buy something else unless I know it will actually function.

How did you edit the altitudes? I fell for the 2.5 hype and started playing DCS again only to discover that yet again, nothing works. Now I got invested in this campaign and can't progress because Springfield 1 always crashes into the same damn tree.

It seems I spoke too soon. Literally the next mission after posting that I started getting crashes again. Although, unlike the non-CA campaign, the crashes seem a bit more random instead of always happening when ordnance explodes.

I don't believe so, here's why: For those having this problem, are you trying to play the Georgian Hammer campaign, or the Georgian Hammer with CA campaign? I had been trying just the same Georgian Hammer campaign since I don't have CA. Yesterday I tried the "...with CA" campaign and it worked wonderfully, and has even been improved (new voice over, new mission, and ramp starts). I have flown four or five missions without a single crash. I have dropped all types of ordnance (guided, unguided, CBU, AGM and guns) and there were no problems at all. At appears, at least for me, that the old campaign isn't compatible with 1.2.1. Hopefully this helps!

Wow you guys are lucky. I've had nothing but problems. I am trying to do the campaign with A-10C. I have done 4 missions and the game crashed on every single one. Twice when my CBUs detonated on target and twice when JTAC was assigning me my second target. Haven't tried any single missions yet, but this is frustrating.

Yes, a saitek keyboard Honestly I only got 2 missions into the game, if you could just tell me where on my computer the config. files are saved, I delete and just start all over.

I have no idea what happened. The game was working fine. I went to re-map a keyboard command and suddenly all of my keyboard commands had been unmapped...when I try to go through and reset every one to the default I get an error message saying "XX invalid actions present in "keyboard" bla bla bla Then when I go to start a mission, nothing happens when I press the pause key... I have tried uninstalling and re-installing three times, nothing helps...anyone know how I can completely re-install DCS Black Shark and start all over?
