  1. I hope to find the time for both hehe.
  2. price is announced on the PMDG forum! a very reasonable $69.99(Base pack with 800/900 series) for such a complex and beautiful aircraft!. 600 and 700s coming 4+ weeks later for $24.99. I like this idea as those that are waitning for the 600 and 700s can practice with the 800/900.
  3. Some background system demos. http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-systems-depth-preview/ I really love how deep the systems go. Some addons look pretty but have limited systems, some have complex systems but dont look so good. This seems to have everything anyone could ever want from a PC based airliner addon.
  4. I think you are reading the max speed of the aircraft rather than what the engines can push you along at. You might make 450 in a dive.
  5. They really are the Eagle Dynamics of the Civilian world =)
  6. lol even Angle of attack training sent me an excited email now =)
  7. ahahah sorry about that. I was just browsing thier forum as I do everyday since the videos started coming and noticed the old theads being unpinned. Thats always a sighn that they are updating thier main posts, then It came out of the blue. I really need to go out and see the sunshine hehe. Im really really excited about this now.
  8. PMDG 737 is out in 7 to 10 days!!!! http://www.precisionmanuals.com/ I might just die of happyness! Gonna be hard to sleep over the next week!
  9. They just added another 19 min video of the aircraft inflight! http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-afdsegpws-impressions/ Honestly that HGS (HUD to you military buffs) is just the most wonderfull thing ive ever seen in a flightsim, its perfectly collimated and so clear. At least on par with the VRS superbug or even the DCS A10c HUD. Its almost painfull to wait for this thing but its such a high quality its going to be more then worth the pain :pilotfly: Its also a good showcase for ORBX scenery, although you wont find many airliners doing VFR in mountains I fly my A2A Accusim B-17 down these vallys alot.
  10. I love the sound changes when the Stanby gauges are changed =) And the very faint sound of the hydralic systems when he switches them on. When I finaly get my hands on this thing im going to just sit on the ramp and take in all the sounds and check every inch!. Its a work of art. Its taken them a long time to make only because they have missed nothing.
  11. Stunning is the only word for this. Bear in mind hes using a version of that still has beta debugging code and also Fraps running in the background and yet its still smooth as silk. http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-cockpit-thoughts/
  12. ah yes, again VRS and those talented developers raise the bar.
  13. I just look at the wonderfull work these little developers are doing with thier addons for FSX and it makes me smile to know whats to come. It has so much potential. Just look at the awsome aircraft being made by A2A Simulations. They are as close to operating a real aircraft as you can get. Then there is the Katana Da-20 which is perfect for exploring Scenery areas like Orbx. Its a little GA aircraft with big heart and a complex Aircraft life managment feature that lets you for instance check the oil with a dipstick or clean the aircraft as after a time it will get dirty, and its persistant soit saves from one flight to the next so if you treat it bad it may just break when you least expect it. :smartass: And the addons keep coming from all sides, quality is getting better and better all the time. I would say FSX is far from dead end. Its only just getting started! :)
  14. I just found the wonderfullly complex little GA aircraft (the Katana Da-20 Diamond) and can honestly say its changed the way I look at FSX forever. I was not a big fan of GA in FSX even though I fly alot of time in Orbx scenery areas (PNW/Northern Fjords etc). If you have ever wondered what it would be like to own a real aircraft this is for you!. It will get dirty as you use it, and will need cleaning which you can do. Engine parts will wear out after a time, oil will be used, you can stress the aircraft and break it needing a trip to the maintance guys. All the wear and tear and fuel use is saved from one flight to the next so your aircraft is persistant (a bit like the A2A Accusim do) The engine will even wear faster when using Avgas instead of the recommended Unleaded fuel. Heck there is even an annoying fly that can sometimes been seen crawling around the cockpit. I would say without a second thought that this aircraft is on par with any GA outhere and is of a quality even A2A would be happy with. :pilotfly: Ok sorry when off topic!
  15. i have a feeling Aces knew they where being taken out of action and thats why FSX had/has so many annoying bugs :)
  16. you can always ask for ground power =). Just dont forget to ask for it to be removed before you move, else you will be having quiet words with your chief!
  17. Well if anyone can work out how to do it its the guys at VRS Simulations :) They have alot of talent.
  18. on the subject of the VRS Hornet they are working on a system that will allow you to actualy affect objects placed in the FSX world, you will be able to blow stuff up and receive damage from ground fire ect. There is already a SAM/AAA system in place that will (if its turned on) attempt to kill you and fail systems that are hit but waht they will be adding soon is the ability to see those as physical object that can be shot at with HARMS. Also there will be the ability to call for refueling tankers at specific points. I highly recommend the Acceleration version of FSX as it will allow you to launch the bug from carriers. The carrier will show its own ILS/TACAN that will move with the ship. A small program called AIcarriers will alow you to move the carrier and give it directions realtime so you can do Trapping/Launching anywhere you like thats got water. :smartass: Really the only thing thats a big missing is the FLIR as it cannot be modeled in FSX. and there is no wingman unless you fly online.
  19. Ive said it before and I hold no gripes about saying it again. TIR (or any head tracking) is the best upgrade you can make for your Simming PC. It will take you awhile to get used to it but after a week or so it will be like having a spare arm. I dont even think about it now I just look and its there. :) A fun thing to do that will help you practise is to Pick a building (a power station etc) and try to keep it in the same spot while you fly rings around it :joystick: :)
  20. they should have an authentication system like a (slightly famos) mmo has that takes your computer out of the system when loggin in. Its still breakable but its another layer of saftey.
  21. I think AAR is just about right, not too hard but not to easy. I can imagine its not easy to get the balance right, I mean without having any feedback from the stick and having almost no peripheral vision from a 2D screen and an AI tanker thats prone to sudden turns. Im sure real A-10 pilots have to deal with turbulent air from the tanker/boom which is not in the sim, if it was then it would much much harder.
  22. I love these old videos =)
  23. yes for both 32 and 64 bit. Your CPU should be fine too but you migh need to turn a few options of (such as HDR and shadows)
  24. CMS aft stops the program running, so it only works when you are dropping chaff/flares Program E or F should have flares or you can make your own program hehe.
  25. cool thanks! i got too much to learn =)
