  1. I tried out the smoketrail mod for FC2, looks really good but as far as ground targets go, I don't see too much of a change (at least as far as height goes). Was hoping the smoke would be higher maybe, any chance of that happening in FC2? Thanks (and I can open a thread in the lock-on forum if this is too OT).

  3. Sorry for going a little bit OT, but is there any way to mod vehicle smoke in FC2? Had almost forgotten I had FC2 installed since DCS Warthog came out, but now that I've been playing around with the su25t in DCS World I've been firing up FC2 again. I found a 'smoke trail' mod, but don't think that has anything to do with ground/vehicle smoke. I'm thinking it probably can't be done (or else someone would have done it) but figured couldn't hurt to ask- thanks!
  4. just tried that smoke mod from 'Irregular Programming", it looks pretty good! I'll probably revert back to stock and wait to see what things look like after the Beta period, but it's nice to know smoke can be played around with.
  5. For what it's worth, I also think smoke doesn't last long enough, or go high enough. Much prefer the way it is now in A-10c. It is a beta though so hopefully it will change - A10 went through lots of smoke variations during the beta. (actually even after the beta, I think).
  6. oh right, I know, I just mean for the installation part (I had uninstalled Lock-on after installing FC2 so now apparently I have to install it again when FC3 comes out). No big deal though.
  7. Too bad it can't check if you have Lock-on or Flaming Cliffs 2 installed; I mean, if you have FC2 you also must have Lock-On, or else FC2 never would have installed. No big deal in the grand scheme of it all though, I can just reinstall Lock-on (I uninstalled after installing FC2). I'll leave Lock-On on my system from now on, save a step down the line when Flaming Cliffs 4 comes out :)

  11. holy cow that looks awesome. so wait, it's really a whole new terrain engine? How'd you manage to fit that in with all the other work?! very exciting stuff. I'm guessing this will be the new engine moving forward too, like for the next DCS aircraft?
  12. Hi Cayenne, I see what you're saying but for me, personally, I really like the view to "stop" at where it does with {1,90,0.5}. I like the way my TIR is set up, and anyway, it's good to have choices - to each their own, you know? Thanks for the link to that cool video, by the way!

  14. Hi - I'm wondering how to get a cockpit view where I can't spin my trackir view all the way around, in other words to have my view stop when looking over my left/right 'virtual' shoulder. I know there are lots of editable config files and I bet there's one that can do this, I just don't have any idea which one. Thanks!

  16. I've noticed this too. I'm hoping they make a comeback in the next patch, I miss them (especially since I've been working my way off labels!).
  17. The voice-overs sounded good, was a fun mission - thanks for making it! Couldn't stop all of them (got a draw) but I'm Ok with that for now.
  18. hey Stanger that's a good tip too! I was just thinking of posting a thread asking if maybe your wingy could be told a "hard deck", it's disheartening to watch him get so low that everyone in the world starts shooting at him.
  19. cool, thanks for the tip! Hadn't thought about the fact that I'd be able to see his SPI on my TAD. I've recently been trying to 'ween' myself off labels (have them adjusted now so they don't show up very far away and are just little dots "."). so I'll take any help I can get!
  20. just finished playing that 'hideout' mission (fun, by the way) and there was some more a.i. audio missing, this time 'enfield' flight. I saw the text, but no audio. they were the tornados, I believe the country flag I saw while flipping through using "F2 view" was German (but I'm not sure). Don't think it was Georgian though. Just wanted to mention it... maybe not all the audio has voices yet?
  21. hi - just diving back into the first mission of the devil's cross campaign after the patch, and after tuning to the guard frequency I've noticed some a.i. radio chatter is missing audio; specifically it's "Uzi" flight. I can see the text "passing way point 1, engaging, etc" but there is no voice for some reason. Heard the audio and saw the text from another flight, so maybe for some reason the audio for that specific flight is not activating? Flew the mission again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, same thing happened. Also flew a 'fast mission' and heard some other flights calling out targets, engaging, etc. Really like this new feature so I wanted to mention it, I know it's not high priority but just putting it out there 'on the radar' so to speak.
