Anyone Else Having an Issue with the 60% off sale?
jspec3 replied to Cavemanhead's topic in Payment and Activation
cool thanks StewJW, appreciate the tips. Spinning around uncontrollably in helicopters is a specialty of mine, so I'm sure it will come in handy! -
Anyone Else Having an Issue with the 60% off sale?
jspec3 replied to Cavemanhead's topic in Payment and Activation
fyi I had the same problem as you guys but it worked for me just now - picked up the Gazelle and it applied 60% of my bonus to the price. glad it finally worked, I was looking forward to checking out the Gazelle because it seems like such a neat module but a) I hardly have time to fly anymore and b) I'm terrible at flying helicopters so I didn't want to pay full price. -

The Ultimate Argument Campaign - DLC for Su27
jspec3 replied to Lino_Germany's topic in Su-27 The Ultimate Argument Campaign
+1, $10 for good campaigns of decent length is fine by me, i picked this up just now (even though I have no idea when I'll have time to play it) because I really think this is something lacking in in DCS right now. That being said, if it ended up not working because of updates to the game that would be a serious issue. Would be nice if whoever created the campaign would speak to that, might make more people more likely to buy if they knew what kind of support to expect. -
Cool, glad to hear it's something you guys are looking at. Thanks for the reply, and good luck with everything!

Hi Luthier, Wondering if you or your team have given some thought yet on how to get a good number of bombers in the air without killing people's PC's? Escorting or intercepting large numbers of bombers was such a big part of the European theater in 1944; It'd be too bad if you guys only were able to put a few in the sky. I'm hoping that thinking about it early on you might be able to come up with some ideas to get the best of both worlds (a good number of planes with ok pc performance). Kind of like European Air War, when it came out it might not of had the most cutting edge graphics for the time, but it still looked pretty good and you could have decent size raids. Anyhow, thanks for all the posting and good luck to you and your group with the project!

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
jspec3 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I've been trying out this mod and I really like it, only issue I'm having is the same one as above - edges of the HUD are getting cut off. Thanks! -
Thanks, but I tried deleting the snapviews.lua from the saved games folder but that didn't help... am I editing the wrong line? Can't figure out what (if anything) has changed since the last patch, or if I can't catch what I'm doing wrong. Basically what I'd like to know is - I'm changing the 'viewAngle' in Snapviewsdefault.lua for snapview 13 to a larger number, and I'm expecting to see a wider field of view. Is that what I should be expecting? I have Track ir and use the z-axis for zoom view, and I like to have the initial view pulled back a little more than what comes standard... I've been able to do this for a while now, but it seems like I can't anymore.

well, I'm at least glad to know I'm not the only one!

Thanks again Andy, I tried but I just can't get this to work like it used to. Usually I have the patience to mess around with configs and whatnot till I've fixed something, but for whatever reason right now I just don't. Think when I'm feeling a little less annoyed I'll come back to it and try again.
-
Thanks Andy, I'll give it a try tomorrow- but what I don't understand is, what's changed? I mean, I've always been able to go into my 'snapviewdefault' file, change the 'viewangle' on snap 13 on whatever aircraft I like, and then my view is adjusted - and the hud wasn't messed up. Anyway thanks again- I really hope they get some kind of view adjust going in the GUI, would really help make this less painful.
-
I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like since the 1.2.4 you can't have your trackir z axis on 'zoom view' without ending up with a gigantic HUD (that's only readable when you press your 'nose up against the glass', so to speak) Changing my trackir z axis to 'cockpit camera move forward backward' keeps the hud basically the same size while I can move my fov around to my liking. Do you use trackir? maybe try changing your z axis and see what happens. Think tomorrow I might start a post asking for advice, too tired right now for that though.

cool, thanks for the info

visibility range set to ultra high problem
jspec3 replied to jspec3's topic in Video Corruption and Related Card Issues
I see, thanks for the info. -
Hi there - Setting visibility range to ultra high cause major graphics problems for me; the ground is pretty much all water, or a super blurry green blob (then moving the camera around I can get underneath the blurry ground and see water). Changing to High, things are fine. Is 'ultra high' a new thing with 1.24? I don't remember seeing it before thanks-

Hey thanks for the reply - I think you've got a little more perseverance than I do. I hope they revisit the mission before it's out of beta, it seems a little crazy right now- and they revisit the one you're on too, from the sound of it!

Hi - Wanted to bump this thread instead instead of making a new one. Does someone know if the mission 'scramble - airbase defense' (F15C-04.miz) will be getting another look? Right now it really seems like there's no way to win; by the time you get airborne there's already either a su-24 screaming above the base leading to the 'mission failed, enemy strike aircraft have reached your base' message, or you're in a dogfight with all kinds of enemy aircraft while your wingmen are still getting off the runway. It seems like maybe it could use a little tweaking to give you more time, or if the idea is there really is no way to stop the attack and it's part of the storyline, then you should at least be able to move on to the next mission.

I really don't understand - why is he doing an interview with this kind of person? This is a quote from http://truthfrequencyradio.com/beyond-w-tony-kudos-17059/ "Tony was aware since he was a youth that he possessed Spiritual Gifts in the form of Clairsentience, insight and Healing and these skills developed during his Life. His development took a quantum leap forward when he had the opportunity to study with a Master in the Ancient Teachings of the Pythagorean Mystery School."

well that was Wags narrating the video, right? although 'official' official confirmation would be good! (whoops, missed NoJoes post while posting!)

F/A-18C Su-27SM F-15C = awesome.

I wish any campaigns/missions with Russian aircraft had Russian pilot/a.i. voices enabled by default. I think there's a mod out there to do this, but it would be nice to have it setup like that without modding. (posted this just a minute ago in another thread then realized might as well post it up here too).
-
Is that possible? Something like that would be cool, I think. Or some way to tell the auto-updater to leave the \DCS World\Config\View folder alone, unless there was a reason to update it. I bet out of all the folders, that one gets edited by users the most (or at least it's pretty high up there).
-
hi - does this mean that if I put, for example, my Config/View folder in the SavedGames directory I won't have to keep going into the _backup folders and copying my modified view.lua files and such back into the main game directory? Copying them back from _backup folders isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme, but it would be nice to not have to do it every time. thanks.

Maybe it's another placebo effect, but I could swear that it's much easier spotting other aircraft from the cockpit now. Seems like you can see them from a little further away, and they look just a bit 'fuller' to me. I love it, even been switching off my custom little dot "." labels sometimes. Maybe that's just how it's been all along in DCS world, but I just haven't done any air-to-air so haven't noticed it? Or maybe I'm crazy? (got FC3 so I've been in the F-15) Also, watching the burners kick on from other aircraft, even if they're pretty far away looks awesome. Although I guess this could be another thing that was always there but just didn't notice flying a-10 (got FC3 so I've been in the F-15).
