  1. @GunSlingerAUSDepressingly similar here ... I spent yesterday switching between my Rift S and G1, trying to get the latter to work without stutters on my 3090. Not given up yet, but pretty close Even if I drop all the settings everywhere I get horrendous stutters/tearing in a roll. Rift S just works. Such a shame they are owned by FB.
  2. I was getting kills last night on MP by holding TWS-A until the TTI started flashing ... this was with Fester. Even shooting at 2 close targets. But tomorrow's update will be a critical one ... we've had to wait a long time with some major issues. Lets hope its a good one.
  3. Just in case anyone else has this issue ... its definitely related to the F-14 and the Reverb - if I try a 16 or 15, it doesn't happen. In the 14, every time I perform a roll, the screen is becomes horribly jittery. Doesn't happen in Rift S.
  4. 'Your NATOPS is not for our bird' ... indeed
  5. JF-17, ie. a very mixed force without fighter-to-fighter links. I use the TID too, and get Jester to put the bullseye in so it appears, but I find with a constant manoeuvring its difficult to see quickly where I am are. I also switch between ground and plane stab, but again a simple line wound help. I've not been able to get navgrid to work effectively. 'not connected into a flight plan' ... did it not have just a simple course to a waypoint. So what is the NATOPs screen showing that I posted? That is definitely distinct from TACAN in the doc. With its emphasis on long over water flights, the 14 struck me as having a fairly sophisticated nav system for its time.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys, but this isn't about point A to B navigation, its whether I can quickly see whether I'm left or right of a line drawn through a waypoint/bulls as shown in the graphic from the 14s NATOPs. To give the background, I'm looking to use this in a multi-flight BVR PvP scenario, where you may want to assign one flight to cover the left of the airspace and another the right, and to help them deconflict, keep station etc. Other flights maybe 16s, 18s or 17s. Maybe its something that nav grid could be used for, but given the limitations of the Jester wheel, I haven't been able to get this to work usefully.
  7. Thanks sLYFa ... I was hoping for something like this:
  8. Virtually impossible to see lights at the moment on Reverb 1 or Rift S.
  9. In the 14, I can select a TACAN source and course and see my range and whether I'm left or right of that course line. Can I do this for waypoints or bullseye? NOTE: This is with Jester. I've been flying the 15 alot recently and this is so useful and works even on analog instruments. CLARIFICATION: The key bit is, can I see my deviation from a course to a waypoint/bulls?? Thanks.
  10. I think thats a very fair summation ... I just don't have the time/brain capacity or, to be fair, inclination to learn NATOPs and fly 100% by the rules - I'd make a poor RL pilot. Hopefully they'll fix this beast soon and I can start learning to BFM 'properly' without flaps! ... Take care and happy simming
  11. Funnily enough, I agree with you, I fly mainly SP too and I find big MP servers (BFM & BVR) far too chaotic and AMRAAM spammy ..
  12. Thanks. You enjoy flying it your way, and I'll try and enjoy flying it my way ... Or is this a module or ex-14 pilots and the 'hard core' only? Although at the moment, the 14 has a number of critical issues meaning, for me, its not enjoyable at all - but hey, I do have a piece of string to watch! The ever changing flap modifications, everyone single one deemed NOW completely accurate and certified by SMEs, really doesn't help!
  13. No, I just get another plane ... its a game ;) PS> No need for vulgarity
  14. 'cons of doing it far outweigh the pros' ... jammed flaps or dead? We're all different, you fly by the training rules, but I'll do what ever it takes :)
  15. Victory, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply ... as I've said numerous times in other threads, the SMEs info is the best that's available to HB, as we are in undocumented territory, and what makes this aircraft so believable and such fun to fly. Hopefully the issues with 54s, Jester and turn-rate can get fixed ASAP and we can all start enjoying this awesome plane again and I'll have to learn to BFM without aux flaps ;) Thankyou Gents. PS> FC, yes I've read it thanks ... much appreciated.
  16. Wizard_03 - are you saying that pilots never used the flaps above 225kts and (at different times) never went above 7.5G as stated in NATOPS? If so, sorry I don't believe you.
  17. That's highly likely ...
  18. GGT, you are missing the point completely ... I'm deliberately using the 7.5 limit as an example of something silly!
  19. I think we all get that, but that's not really the point ... were Aux flaps used by some USN pilots during mock ACM? If yes, did they break during mock ACM? Probably. Was there a risk of them breaking over 225kts as stated in NATOPS? Sure. What was the safety factor builtin into the NATOPs figure? No idea, but probably a lot more than the amount in this weeks 'correct' implementation. 'G's over 7.5 were pulled many times' ... yes I know. I was using it as an example of what may come next in HBs development cycle - go to 7.51G and the wings fall off, because of the often repeated mantra of 'it says in NATOPS' ... I was using it as an example of where what it says in NATOPS being a safety/maintainability related figure, and it had a significant safety margin built into to, like-wise, I would expect that Aux flaps figure to have some reasonable safety margin.
  20. Ok, I'll rephrase that for the benefit of some: ... sometimes full flaps and at other times G over 7.5 (OBVIOUSLY, not at the same time) ...
  21. You completely fail to acknowledge that full flaps and G over 7.5 were used in training ACM by fleet pilots ... there is plenty of evidence to support this. I expect we'll see the 14 break apart at 7.51G next! PS> And don't talk to me about competitive play ... the 54 is currently banned in SATAL and I've just had to pull out of another comp because of the state of the 14Bs FM after the latest patch :( It's a mess.
  22. I may not like it ... but keep up the good work guys :)
  23. Yes, but this guy was Mr Tomcat ... didn't you spot the winky face FC? I wasn't being serious! As I said above - 'its the best HB can get.' - I'll say it for you, my 'feeling' doesn't matter, but it does seem odd.
  24. You could always ask Snodgrass ;)
  25. Probably depends on who you ask ... Not very scientific, but its the best HB can get.
