See, these Type 2 and 3s can be controlled but you have to have correct LOS
-
No, that's not it, you can't even set it in the ME because of the error
-
If you do have OB, in the loadout screen it is listed under "Missiles" as "LAU-117, AGM-65E"

Is Anti-Skid supposed to be On for Carrier Ops/Takeoff?
Alphamale replied to Snacko's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
HAHA, so the anti-skid prevents those 180 degree half-doughnuts?? Now, I'm never gonna use it...I love spinning around like that...makes for a quick rearm/refuel and then launch  -
Try mixed loadouts...like 4 AGM-64E, 2 Mk-20 (center station) or 2 MK-82 instead of the ROCKEYES OR 4 Rocket Launchers at stations 3 & 7 with MAVs at 2 & 8...and Clluster Bombs at the center station....I have had great success with the rocket launchers especially when set to SALVO
-
Sure, MAVs are ATGMs (Anti Tank Guided Missile)...that's exactly what a Mav is...I think HARM or Shrike, or Hellfires would be ASMs (Air to Surface Missiles)....I could be wrong tho...wouldn't be the first time :)
-
Yes, but the thing is, realistically, you wouldn't know how the targets are spaced or grouped and we shouldn't have to use F6 or whatever "View Ground Units" is, to determine that grouping because a real pilot doesn't have this ability unless you have the ATFLIR...plus depending on how you selected what units will do under fire, thes units will move after one of them has been taken out....I just flew a mission where I waited 3 seconds between MAV shots and the last one missed because the once closely group of four tanks started to spread out after the first kill....and as a result, my last MAV missed but not by much....I tried again this time waiting five seconds between launch at maximum distance of around 15nm and all were hit
-
Wait a sec..when I tried the Stryker as the lasing platform, and I selected as the Mark, LASER, occasionally I got a red print warning that this could not be used due to LOS problem...so I think it does take LOS into consideration

Yeah, that's a good one too.. -

I thought anti-skid was for landings on the carrier and not necessary for takeoffs -
How to: Lock Aim-9x with JHMD on onto a bandit inside HUD
Alphamale replied to -Painter-'s topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Can't you just use Boresight when the target is in the HUD? -
Loved it

I wouldn't consider the Strike Eagle (F-15E) as an Air Superiority platform OVER it being a Ground Attack platform...I mean, it is called the STRIKE Eagle not the Fighter Eagle...seems like they're categorized according to speed...the Fast Movers have to be F- and the slow slogging planes with 30mm guns have to be A- (A-10C, AH-64...etc.) Maybe they should have called it the F/A-15E
-
ABSOLUTELY ON POINT!!!! I will in deed keep your link going from my end....everything you siad was what I experienced as well but here's the irony...you say you'd like if the ME had the ability to allow the planner to set which weapon type is to be used or whether smoked should be used...it does have this, it just doesn't work...In the ME you can select what the JTAC will request from the in-game pilot to use....so after you have "Assign Group" and go into that task's EDIT, you can select the Group name, WEAPON to be used by category such as Unguided Bombs or in the Guided Category, things like ATGM or ASM or ARM....it's ALL there...they just don't work....I tell it to NOT use any smoke and sure enough it throws out WP...it's broken or just never developed fully...so yeah, I'm very frustrated with this ME
-
LeCuvier, yes that's correct but at after the target is hit, you don't ALWAYS get a SHIFT response where JTAC confirms that the target has been destroyed....if you don't get a quick confirmation as in SHIFT or SHIFT RESPOND, you may have to select "OFF" as you retreat to IP to start again...this seems to ask for an assessment of the target and a determination from the JTAC to re-strike the target rather than look for another....I think this may because sometimes the target is not destroyed but damaged and may lose all "health" before you proceed to the next target, SO, it is probably best to wait a minute before you quit the mission thinking something's wrong...I've already had a situation where I was about to select OFF and before I pushed the button, JTAC said Target Destroyed...so wait just a bit before using "OFF" as a continuance Edit: Ok I was wrong...SHIFT from JTAC means he is shifting the laser to another target so if there are multiple MAVs in the air spaced appropriately, after the first designated TGT is destroyed, the JTAC will paint the next target and so on...you can take out four targets this way in rapid succession
-
Can you send me the mission? I'll look at it or just post it here
-
Glad it worked...YES, I think there is way too much chatter necessary before you can launch..but try to make sure you contact JTAC well before you get to IP (like 25nm) then go thru all the talking until you get to "Continue" from JTAC..actually you can do this as early as you want on the way to the target...but have your response menu on the screen while JTAC is "waxing poetic" so you can quickly respond, etc. etc. ... after you hear CONTINUE, try not to be closer than 10nm because you still have LASER, SPOT, and IN to respond with before he says CLEARED HOT and you don't want to be on the target's doorstep as you launch, because most of the "made for MAVs" targets will shoot back....let me know if you need any help

I just edited a mission I got from someone else in the forum...there's two vehicle groups...one with two personnel trucks and the other with four armored tanks....I edit the AFAC to "Assign Group" #1 as the armored group and then the same task for the second group of just a Jeep and a truck (figuring that if I list the armored group first, the FAC will address that group first...furthermore I assign as "weapon to use" for the armored group under the Guided category as ATGM (Air to Ground Missile) since they didn't have a Maverick option. I then chose Laser as the mark type and then for the soft group I chose from the Unguided category Cluster Bombs and for the Mark I chose NO since the damn Willy Pete does nothing but obscure my vision during a manual CCIP pickle...and then I save it...What happens? I contact JTAC and the SOB wants me to use the MK 20s on the armored group...WTF???? Then to finish the screw -up, it throws smoke out when I specifically told it NOT to...this ME is a POS
-
Wow, I'll have to check that out...but I don't see why it would be so hard to have the AI prioritize the targets based on threat level and/or armor level...it's just common sense....take out SAMs and AAA with standoff, then armor and then soft targets and finally infantry... it really makes choosing your payload even more important
-
I'm for any "D" series...F-14D, F/A-18D, and AH-64D...bring em all on
-
Not only that, but the FAC essentially takes control of your weapon deployment by not only forcing you to have a dozen convos before you can launch, but worse, they tell you which weapons to use...I mean, I've already been told to use a MAV on a truck and rockets or GUNs on an armored vehicle....I chose my payload so I could use MAVs on the hardened targets and rockets or CBUs on the softer targets, but the damn JTAC seems to know better....NOT
-
Well, when they fix the problems they're having with this FAC lasing, you'll probably have to do it the right way, which is by getting a "Cleared Hot" from the AFAC whether it be lasing OR using smoke...so you might as well get used to having to ask for permission, by first declaring SPOT and then by declaring IN, after which you will get "Cleared Hot"
-
Yeah, which mission was this? DeathAngel1, check out this mission that you gave me...I took out a target group, so now there's 6 targets...there are no SAMs because they make the AFAC fail...so until they fix this, this is the new variation of AccurateStrike. So here's the mission...Take out 6 ground targets and the two choppers and make it back to the carrier before you run out of fuel...let me know how it goes AccurateStrike(1).miz

Sorry DeathAngel1, it is a BUG...here's the link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224406
