Same, no problems...all IA and saved missions and downloaded missions work...even the Input assignments are intact
-
If I had asserted that you said that, I would have directly refuted it...the fact, that I said "You can't say that" already presupposes that you did not say it....hehe
-
Ok I copied the mission and saved it as another name and then loaded it up in the ME. The default "AS IS" weight was 32,137 lbs...there were no weapons except M61 ammo and chaff and flares, both of which I dumped and it made no appreciable difference...BUT, the default fuel was 62% of MAX internal fuel....I dumped fuel down to 18% of Max internal which brought the total weight to 27,478 lbs which is more that 2.25 TONS and all I could shave off was 1 SECOND???

How about differences in players stick response...you can't say they are all the same
-
Nah, that's not gonna cut it for an explanation...the banking and speed bleedings would ALL be different and where you entered the gate will vary...some locations are speed saving others not so much...just like slalom racing...try again
-
You're not getting mine either...you could have six planes start at the same exact point and fly STRAIGHT for 15 miles at the same AB setting and they'd all have different times IRL, but apparently not here in this sim

Hey thanks for the mission...will load it up in a few...but I think this mission (Valley Run) which I have yet to hear anyone do in under 1:44, is saying something else....and it's bothering me....how can EVERYONE have the exact same limit in covering that "slalom" course? There are too many variances of bleeding speed while maneuvering for all of us to have a speed limit that is identical....what? do we all end up with the same average speed over the length of the course? The times should be approaching a limit but all should not hit that limit EVERY time you try it...you got head winds, tail winds, air pressure, humidity, response of the jet's stick inputs, and so on...It almost makes me think that there is no randomness in the mission and if not, what about the rest of the sim?

Hah, me neither...I did some searching and found that info along with a whole bunch more, but just copied and pasted what I thought was close to your question...I too, would like to know how it works as a couple of times I switched it to AUTO just to see what happens....but it seemed to fit into place when talking about locking CIA (Command Inertial Active) mode and AUTO scan centering being selected so that track files are not degraded over time...at least that's my take....in any event, I really don't think it's functional (W.I.P.) at the moment...but soon :)

I found this: "The Radar can support trackfiles and AMRAAM data link while in RWS, however there is no AUTO scan centering to maintain the trackfile and additional latency in RWS may decrease Pk. Therefore, for any CIA-type AMRAAM launch from RWS, the MC immediately commands the Radar to TWS with AUTO scan centering. The automatic selection of TWS mode actually occurs for any CIA launch from any Radar mode except STT. For an STT launch, the Radar remains in STT, however the Return-to-Search mode indicated at [PB5] is for TWS regardless of what the previous Radar mode was. The Radar may subsequently be returned to RWS post-launch, and data link support is maintained, however AUTO scan centering is lost and the data link transmission rate will diminish. While in RWS, the the ASE and steering dot, as well as the launch zones and TTG cuing for the designated L&S target continue to be displayed. The SHOOT cue is suppressed from RWS mode to encourage the selection of TWS mode prior to launch."

Don't worry, I'm sure it'll come along soon enough :)

It's Instant Action Caucasus "Valley Run" at bottom of list

nope, been able to get reliable hit and kills from the 7MH at this distance, but at 23nm and over at angels 25 and up with target zero aspect and Vc of around 1K have not been able to get ANY hit with the 120C ....oh, and I had a flashing shoot cue as well

What is the in-game difference between AIM-7M and MH?
Alphamale replied to Silvern's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It seems to be working well with 25-30 deg pitch up A2A_Practice_7MH_1.trk -
Isn't that a different type of Stores page?
-
I found this from NATOPS "After lift-off, the initial climb attitude to 1,200 feet AGL varies with existing weather conditions. However, an initial pitch attitude of 15 to 20° is a good starting point. Afterburner operation requires a 5 to 10° higher pitch attitude. Do not exceed 25° of pitch attitude. Select landing gear UP and flaps AUTO when definitely airborne. Climb out at 200 to 220 knots."

Yep, The bomb dropped has a blue casing, which means that it is a dummy/practice round. Live bombs are painted olive green. And yes, this is a 500 lb Paveway II
-
The carrier was the USS Kitty Hawk and did you notice on the launch, how quickly the pilot banked to his right coming off the cat?
-
Bingo, although could it be done?...I mean, if you wanted to make it look like a car bomb, you would not want them to find steel casing fragments (if that's even possible)
-
let's see if you can figure out the following: What is the type of LGB used and what was special about it? Also, what was the name of the carrier in this scene...something else to watch is the pilot's work with the right DDI prior to "Coming down"....what was he pressing???
-
TBH, I don't think you can...which, to me, seems impossible since any small variance from one person's attempt and their input devices would seem to suggest many different times, instead of everyone getting 1:44
-
Yep, I was just making the distinction between runway 26 being 26 degrees and runway 26 being 260 (approx)
-
Nice, Hit the mission end as soon as your jet's nose is thru the gate...you may get a second or two off if you're waiting for the "Success" message
-
...and ACM mode seems to be the default mode when selecting any a2a weapon from what I've seen...strangely, I have gone from NAV to AA (by way of selecting a missile) and have 90% of the time been in ACM mode...however, there have been a few times that going to a missile, kept me in RWS mode....I'll try to make a track Edit: Ok, simple a2a mission shows how going from NAV to AA and back gives random radar modes once selected look at the yellow cross circling the submode A2A_Practice_AIM120C_1.trk

Try WACQ just as a test when they're that close to you...currently, it has autolocked contacts that are in front of me and in close range....for me, it's "Castle" switch left when in AA mode

Well, complete description..ty this would make nice info for a KB
