  1. Shhhhhhh, there's a new replacement for the 54C HAV killer....it's the AIM-152....it's a secret :)
  2. There's no AIM-54C (reach out and touch someone)
  3. Terrain Avoidance?? This platform can do NOE?
  4. So I have to LITERALLY "Look Down" with this radar as it is?? :)
  5. I have been waiting for this sim to come out since playing Jane's version in DOS....and that is AH-64D Apache Longbow....why is this taking so long? I want to see ED do this before I qualify for Medicare...which is pretty soon....now let's get cracking....:)
  6. ok ty
  7. So there's no "Track While Scan" mode in this version of F/A-18C? Just Range While Scan, and Single Target Track?
  8. Yep ok my controls page looks slightly different (more plain), but yes I think I know what to do...clear out all axes that were assigned to the CH Fighterstick except for normal FCS functions and assign the axes for left and right "Thrust" to the Logitech quadrant...I had to fidget with the IDLE commands...the quadrant does have OFF positions and IDLE detents but I think I have it sorted out thank you very much...now what can I assign to the third slider on the quadrant? It needs to be, or should be, something with a continuum of values suitable for an axis...any suggestions? Radar Elevation?
  9. Cannot find "auto-assignment" cannot find how to disable a peripheral
  10. Can't find where you're referring to. maybe the Open Beta DCS World is different than the regular
  11. Thanks so much...about the analog "trims"...I understand what you're saying but have you seen the cost of new periphs???? Jeez...this Logitech Quadrant was $59, I was looking at the other throttles and they want an average of $200 or more!!! That's totally ridiculous. One Warthog Throttle was selling for over $500 USD...crazy...thanks again :)
  12. Really need help here. I had been using a CH Fighterstick with Saitek Pro Flight Pedals. The Fighter stick has its own throttle wheel as well as trim wheels. But I wanted a dual engine throttle, so I picked up the Logitech Flight Throttle Quadrant... How do I get the sim to start using the throttle sliders on the Quadrant...currently only the far right slider responds to throttle increase and decrease..the other two sliders are assuming pitch and roll functions
  13. Ok found it...sorry, is there a sticky for this?
  14. Excuse me, but could you please give me the full path for that...I assume it's on my HDD and not here...thanks
  15. Great...thanks
  16. Long time since I've flown Jane's F/A - 18....need more missions on weapons deployment and use of FLIR, etc. Please?
  17. Err, did you mean CAP and not CAS? Save the CAS for ground tgts.
  18. Any reason why this option was left out of the sim? This game has a nasty habit of crashing during the end of campaigns and thus gives you a mission failure. I can't post a track, because, well, it crashes. No way to identify the problem. Let's say you start a mission and your input devices have a problem so you quit to rescan/reset for USB devices. Mission failed. You're in the middle of a mission and have to attend to something and put game on pause. You come back and game has CTD. Mission failed. You get into the thick of things during the end of a campaign and the video locks up. When you restart the game, mission failed. It's frustrating that there is no basic option to save the campaign at the end of a particular mission in the campaign so you can revisit that progress at a later date. All you can do is restart the campaign. Copying files within a certain folder of the game install does not seem like a user-friendly option either. JUST A BASIC SAVE option is all that's needed. Is that too difficult to put into the game?
  19. Then why the G-EFFECTS tab in the Options page?
  20. But with negative Gs the blood would be forced to your brain and hence the oxygen. So, I don't see your brain cells running out of it. Unless your breathing could not keep pace and the O2/CO2 exchange was interrupted.
  21. Well, I did manage a spiralling negative G turn and held it for about a minute at starting altitude of 20k and the G-meter showed about -3 the whole time. However, I thought G-effects were cumulative. Not once, did I get a hint of grey, black, or red out UNTIL I passed -3.0 G on the meter then It was complete and not gradual. I also managed an engine cutoff in the process. IIRC, Falcon 4 modelled both Black and Red outs, but perhaps they weren't modelled correctly. And of course you were flying much faster, so I suppose you would notice them that much quicker.
  22. How long is "sustained"?
  23. Are the engines on the A-10C carborator or fuel-injected? If the latter, then they should not be cutting out on negative Gs.
