  1. That is what I did when I encountered the issue. It worked fine. I suppose it's just something to be aware of, if it happens again. And me too - DCS is the only thing I run on my system.
  2. Is there anywhere to purchase locally in the U.S.? The ones I've seen are either in Russia or Australia.
  3. Burt, it runs great. Yep, running HP and TB. The fan kicks in, but that's what it's supposed to do. I'm not getting any of that stuttering I used to get on my older PC. I have AWCC configured to kick it into high gear when I start up DCS. I was getting some strange boot-up stuff going on in the PC. It would start to start, then shut down, then start to start again, then shut down, then start up. I read somewhere that it was due to static build up. Have you experienced anything like that?
  4. Has anyone purchased one of these? Is it easy to install? And are there other options?
  5. Has anyone tried the custom F-18 face plate on the throttle?
  6. Some great info, guys. I will check this out. Something else I noticed: with the X56, the aircraft kind of "bounced around" when maneuvering, just a bit. Like if I over-steered and didn't stop the roll quick enough. With this Warthog, the aircraft stops its maneuver on a dime, ALMOST feeling arcadish. Is that normal? As for the extension, I can see why, Right now the base plate is pretty much resting on the front of my seat, with my legs going over it a bit to get to the pedals. Otherwise, the stick sits too high. Sure, I can simply mount the stick to the side, but trying to keep it feeling authentic unless I'm flying the Viper.
  7. I took the leap. My Warthog stick arrived yesterday. The throttle and F-18 grip arrive Tuesday. So I've switched over from the Logitech X56, which I had no problems with at all. But I am going from the loosest spring on the Logitech to this beast of a Warthog stick! Is there any way to adjust the stiffness, or is that simply the product of something designed to be so close to the real thing?
  8. Yep, as of the last update.
  9. Spudknocer has a very good TrackIR profile in the downloads section of the main site. It's what I use and haven't had to tweak it one bit. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300419/

    April Fools!

Ya can't please everyone with a month-long, site-wide sale. And ya can't please everyone with a small way to ATTEMPT to make folks laugh during a stressful time in this world. Dudes, Life is too important to take so seriously, for f&$!sake. :harhar:
  11. After this recent update, all of the themes play the same DCS default sound. In other words, no cool track playing for the Huey. I ran repair, but no change. Just reporting.
  12. Let's put it this way: Every YouTube video you watch right now where someone is flying the JF-17, or teaching how to use a recently-updated feature, yet there was no update to the SR, they are on OB. When the F-16 first released, and all the tutorial vids were made, it was OB. All of Waggs tutorial vids for upcoming modules are created on OB. So to say there are "few" new updates is not accurate, but perhaps more relative to the type of modules you fly. "In development" and "beta release" coincide together. You have beta releases until the error threshold is met to release to a stable environment. I'm not championing OB; I just wanna give the man enough facts to make his own choice. I run both but haven't been on SR since 2.5.6 came out on OB.
  13. +1
  14. Open Beta is has more frequent changes and therefore is updated more often. When a module first comes out of pre-sale, it is only playable on open beta - until it is stable enough (most of the bugs worked out) to go to the stable release platform. An example of this is the JF-17 is on OB only right now; also newly added features to planes like the FA-18C and the F-16C, etc. get loaded to OB first. So! If you want to be a true beta tester - meaning you are open to experiencing some problems and bugs, and reporting them, and not be frustrated with them - and you like getting access to the new stuff faster, then OB is a good way to go. If not, then your best bet is to stay with the stable release. Another option - if you have the disk space - is to install both.

That's what it was, guys! Thanks for the help!

    TPOD Help

Yesssssss! It just occurred to me that it was the altitude setting, most likely. I will test it when I get home.

    TPOD Help

I'm not inputting coordinates; I have the way points already set up in the mission. All I should have to do is go to the SA screen, turn on way point, select the way point to use, and click the button WPDSG.
  18. Just have fun with it. Mix it up. The F-18 is multi role, right? :D
  19. Sure I do. I set up a few missions with the F-18 taking off from a carrier, hitting the targets and landing at a closer airfield. I would assume in RL that it also saves fuel. Sure, at some point they need to put that aircraft back on the carrier.
  20. I haven't purchased any bundles. The Su-33 is popping up in the module manager again now. All of this is in OB. Haven't checked SR.

    TPOD Help

I'm using the Litening II Tpod with the AGM-65F - love the combo!. Yet, when I use waypoint designation, it gets me close by, but not right on the waypoint. At first I thought it was a range limit, but I waited until I was under 10nm from the target and still the same result. Am I missing something? Tried this on land and water targets.
  22. That was it. Strange. As I said, I didn't purchase stand-alone modules for those. But I BET there was a free trial for them in recent weeks? Because even right now, after I deleted them, I am prompted to install the Su-33 module.
  23. I'll check. I never bought the stand-alones, just FC3.
  24. No. You use the hook to catch the wire. So the anti-skid is turned off.
  25. I have the toe brakes on my pedals bound.
