So that's why I was burying my twin squirrel into the ground after the surgeon removed my lat dorsi? :joystick: I know I don't play with the 109 as much because I do find it tiring after a half hour. I'm using a G940. I have an FFB2 in the cupboard I should pull it out and see if that is any better.

Thank you so much for the donation of your precious time and effort Chuck. It's a shame and concerning to me that a user has to produce this document.

I missed this post. Why shouldn't we use Logitech software? I only use the G940 for DCS so should I uninstall the Profiler from windows? Thanks.

Overheating GPU Trouble with DCS
AussieFX replied to SharpeXB's topic in Video Corruption and Related Card Issues
Your fan should be running, otherwise the gpu would melt before your pc completed booting. 60°C shouldn't be a problem at all, gpu's are designed to handle nearly 2x that or ~115°C before anything really serious should happen. I haven't used Nvidia for years so you might need it for some functions but if not, I would get rid of all the extra software and let the driver do it's thing. They are pretty reliable. I would also be looking at the psu as mentioned above, I once had a 1kw Antec play up that manifested itself in video errors. -
More pixels. I really don't know anything about this subject and it seems that scaling might not be the answer, however something does need to be done. (If possible) Lighting such as sun glinting seems plausible to me. In real life I was sometimes surprised to see small training aircraft ~2nm away, other times you can pick them out from 10+nm. It depends on the aspect of the acft you are looking for and environmental conditions. Not sure how easy it would be to pick up an F-111 at 850kts in the weeds either. Depending on the scenario you may want to be hiding so there's both sides to consider in this. But this is more of a WW2/Korea era problem.

Video Tutorial: Doppler system, ARC-9/UD ADF

Thanks, very helpful. :smilewink: -
Extremely important. I use a 1200 line monitor which makes it worse, I have no idea how people get on with those nice Dell 30 inchers. However I have a sneaky suspicion that ED are working on this. The "What resolution are you using" thread gives me the idea.

Fixed my G940 throttle issues in every acft. Thanks so much.

Never flown a UH-1 but surely this is incorrect. Sure the starter can be activated but engine starting? B206 requires the throttle to be moved into flt idle for light-off.

This concerns me a little too. DCS releasing an Alpha is a big (and gutsy) move by them and I do applaud them for it as it will be exposed to so much more hardware and that can only be a good thing. Experienced Beta testers will not have any problems but as for others I'm not so sure. People need to understand that this WILL crash and sometimes be hopelessly frustrating. CaptainSim have tried the same thing with a 777 addon for FSX. I saw so many complaints from people saying it was buggy that it wasn't funny, then PMDG released the finished 777 and it only got worse... Remember folks it's an ALPHA and nobody should have the right to complain when (not if) it crashes.

It's not your hardware. My pc is very similar but I'm only running one 7970 and it's one of the old 925MHz models. The others here are onto something with crossfire, if the game doesn't support it you will have problems. Just turn it off in your driver. I don't monitor fps because it runs as smooth as butter, with every acft module installed. I'm in total agreement with the others about creative drivers too. I have an x-fi built in but went out and bought an asus card just to get away from those darn drivers.

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod

No that's what mrsa and morphine does to you... What caught me out was both files having the same name. As I said...stoopid! -
[FIXED] flaregun toggle function
AussieFX replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Because in some countries like Australia you can't get track IR any longer. The distributor went bust, I just tried to order one and no go. So this removal option has become essential! Any idea when it will happen? -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
AussieFX replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
OK I realise the mistake I have made so I will put it here just in case anyone else is as stoopid as me. What happened was I saw the .zip file and thought it was the file I had downloaded and it automagically placed itself there. But it wasn't...the .zip file I have now discovered is the Russian language version and I had renamed it to stop any confusion. As a consequence the game couldn't access the files it needed. So my renaming was my fault. :surrender: Thanks for the help. -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
AussieFX replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yeah I have done that and everything is working as it should, all labels are in English but the window glass (textures) isn't there. I have the full cockpit but no outside view. Or am I missing something in your post? EDIT: Added a screenshot. -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
AussieFX replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi I have installed this wonderful mod, however I'm missing the textures for the windows. All glass has some generic ED background. Funnily if I open a window I can see out. All the English labels are there, just no view. I copied the 17 files over. I even tried re-downloading incase of corruption but it's still there. Thanks for reading. -
Happy New Year! ...just.

I'm having the same problem. I'm out of ideas too.
-
Any reason why not? :helpsmilie: I've been having a lot of trouble setting mine up too and a profile for a guide would be really helpful. No profile works since the update, surely someone has something recent they can post up. :joystick:

Thanks Abburo. I reset everything as you said and of course it didn't work. I was about to give up on it. This post makes a lot of sense, I will open it and redo the wires, soldering is a simple exercise for me so it holds no fears. Now to fix my back so I can stand long enough to get the job done. I slipped a disc on Saturday. Grrr. I will report back once it's done.
-
Thanks Abburo. I will clear all the assignments first and start over. Then fingers crossed can report back with some good news. When you initially set yours up did it automatically select joystick_slider as the collective axis? (under sim mode) Strangely under game mode mine detected the correct z_axis. Which has just given me a thought, I will only operate under sim mode, so I'm thinking of only re-doing the assignments for sim and leaving game blank.??? Thanks for taking the time to help mate...much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. joy.cpl? I'm not sure what that is. The throttles are moving when I calibrate them if that's what you're getting at. I believe I have the axis mapped correctly, it seems to me that the R1 pot is interfering. When I push the collective throttle I (sometimes) get a tiny bit of movement but nothing usable. I haven't mapped R1 to anything AFAIK yet it has full control over the collective.
-
Bump. Any ideas on this? It seems I have a conflict with the R1 pot on the throttle and the throttles themselves. I have gone through the controller list and deleted everything besides the axis and it still happens. Nothing is mapped to R1 at all yet it is the only collective control I have. The Logitech profiler is running in the system tray, should I disable it? The game is currently unplayable.
