I’m not using any profile, in Logitech software external from dcs. If you try to disable all profiles? Just default configuration. Neither in dcs I’ve never had to set the axis and the button for the mouse. Do you have other device connected that could interfere with the mouse? I had some problem with my 3Dconnexion space mouse enterprise which inhibited the x52 axis in some cases

My throttle ordered last Saturday is “on hold” since Wednesday... What about this morning restock? I’ve been watching their sites since 5.30 gmt but still no add to cart button....

Excuse me if I join the topic in the middle of a discussion :lol: For me, getting the Rift S have been literally a revolution. Despite I have a 28’ 4K monitor, the experience the vr give to you worth the loss of resolution. I’ve been playing military and civilian Sims for 25 years, F29 Retaliator the first one, then the sims I remember better are UNSF97, IAF, and then MFS2000 and Falcon 4. While years were passing developers improved graphics and aircraft systems, but the experience was “almost the same”. I consumed my sidewinder’s hat (the one without force feedback) viewing around the cockpit, specially in falcon 4 when spotting an enemy wasn’t as easy as everyone would expect. Last year on July’s steam sales I decided to join DCS with the f18, understanding the high level of simulation but view around with the hat I decided to buy the Rift S. What I had was a WOW EFFECT that I would never imagined. The immersion vr gave is incredible. The experience changed drastically, and the result is I’ve stopped playing games without vr... I have a steam library of 109 games, I play almost the only with VR... I joined the Alpha of Microsoft FS2020, great game with incredible graphics, but after few hours I stopped, waiting for release and VR support, without it is “boring”. Ok, as everyone said the resolution makes spotting enemies and reading mdf’s difficult. As I started vr playing I had an Alienware r17r5 with a 1070... I was running dcs with vr setting to low, and PD set to 1. For working reason I had to change my home’s backup pc, so I bought the one I have in signature, so I could have raised the graphic quality to high settings and PD 1.7, the graphics changed drastically, the MDF’s are almost quite clear to read despite the rift S resolution. In conclusion, yes you have to look for compromise using VR, but I think no one who have bought a vr headset regretted it, and it’s difficult to come back to 2d screen. Just for fun, when you’ll buy an headset, try to watch a movie with Bigscreen beta with Antialias set to 2x, and then tell me if you still can watch a movie on your 4K 65’ tv in your living room

guys pretty sorry, i read something about nvlink and VR... NOW nvlink is not supported for vr, but it is for 2d gaming. I hope with the new render engine they'll support nvlink even in vr.

Virpil Throttle afterburner detents (3D printed)
panph90 replied to SneakyBastd's topic in VIRPIL Controls
is not the same thing :) as soon as i get my own (order "in hold" :( ) i'll try with virtual detent first, but when me or someone will mod the detent for the cm2, i'll print them faster than now! -
LOL, i thought you were sarcastic like "are you playing at work?" :megalol: but yes, i play it but not in VR, at work we use Oculus Go and Quest, i have the rift S at home. The 2070 super is the best GPU if you're looking at the ratio Performance/price. As i said, you could buy 1 2070 super now, and i guarrantee you'll be ok with Rift S. In the future, when you'll have greater demands, you can buy another one, connecting them with NV Link. With the NV Link the GPU shares they're RAM and they work syncronized having better graphics performaces. I don't think dcs support SLI, so without NVL you run with 1 GPU even if you have 2.
-
If you're the owner, and i am, you could :lol::lol::lol: Here's our "fire power"... the PC room. This was last year, now we have 1 new more. Every pc have at least 3 GPU, it depends on what a pc is working at. I mostly work on render product or external, so i don't need so much power, my own is 2x 2070super, 1x 980Ti. The guy who works on interior render (with many lighting computation) have 6 vga: 2x2070, 2x1070, 1x2070 super, 1x780 (for the editor view, the other for rendering) It's not the usual render studio... isn't it?

lol, i didn't specify in the last post because i thought it was obvious... the TGP is not masked (if it would be masked, i won't see all black but i can see there's the fuselage or in this case the wing tip). Even if there's the M. The 3 screenshot are taken at the same time, less than 5 seconds each other. the image did not flashed. Just when i zoom in it gradually become black, as i zoom out it return. the problem occur even if the target is in front of me. I said i have the same issue even if the agm65d, hard that to be masked...
-
Set chimney smoke to 0 and the probem persist. ah, the problem is the same for AGM-65D, the one with flir camera. If something is burning they're unusable. i have some screenshot: Here's the compound i've already destroyed. TGP camera mode, no zoom. Here's the same view, few seconds earlier, TGP in flir white hot mode, gain 4 level 4, no zoom. If i zoom in a little, just to make the burning area wider, here's the result. Obviously same with black hot. Tried to play with gain and level value, with no effort.

2070 super with rift S is a great deal. In a future, when game's demands will be higher you could also look for another 2070 super with NV Link. Is my setup at work and works great (we are a render studio, we work in C4d specially for vr product).

Hotas Warthog, Logitech X55 or what else?
panph90 replied to panph90's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I managed to get one CM2 throttle yesterday, as you said all items goes out of stock in a while.. 5.45 gmt the add to cart button was on, 6.10 out of stock. Now I can't wait to put my hands on it. One thing I'll be missing will be the mouse pointer and buttons on throttle like my X52 pro, but on a thread I created in virpil section seems like with a simple software I can emulate the mouse with hat and buttons. For the stick, happy to read you're happy with the warbrd gimbal. I hope I can get them both when constellation alpha will be available... I was thinking to buy it yesterday but if I buy grip and base on same order I'll have 10% discount on both items... Do you have the warbrd base on desktop or with a desk mount? Im going to use it on desktop but if I'd like to place on desk mount in future, is it comfortable? I read it might be problematic because with the grip is possible to hit the mount. I don't think I'll buy more than 1 grip, so ivll buy the one most fit my needs. The constellation alpha might be the right choice, few more buttons than the warthog and 1 analog stick, it might be useful on civilian Sims. -
i cleared out the fxo and metashaders maybe 2 weeks ago, and the chimney smoke set to 3 due to "the enemy within 3.0" campaign demand  I'll try to disable it, but the error occured earlier i set the value different from 0. tomorrow i try to delete everything in the cache and i'll let you know. Going to take even some screenshot

Exactly, I got the point last evening. I was looking at a compound, worked fine and the tgp goes black after the hit. If I’m looking at something burning all goes black (or white). I tried to play with level and gain of the tgp but is almost unusable.i barely see something with gain value 0. I have to switch to normal camera to search targets, and that’s pretty difficult  There a way to reduce sensibility of the tgp in flir mode? I understood the problem is the temperature range of the element in the view...

Hi to everyone, I’m a Saitek X52 PRO user (bought in 2005, still perfect, great durability), one of the interesting feature of this hotas is the presence of a mini hat, buttons and a scroller that act as the mouse movement and button. Today I managed to buy a T50CM2 throttle, and when will be available I’ll buy a Constellation Alpha to replace the x52. I started watching virpil software tutorials to learn how to setup the device, I learnt few interesting things, like the ability to set axis working as button (I’ll use it on the alpha grip, replacing the analog hat with 4 buttons). But I haven’t find anything about the ability to setup buttons and hats working as a mouse, pretty useful considering I’m playing with VR, so I move the mouse pointer with the head and simply press buttons and use scroller with the hotas. So the question, is it possible to setup buttons acting like mouse left and right buttons, and maybe 1 hat for the mouse movements? Another question about the feature to set buttons from analog axis: I saw the software, but it seems like it’s possible to set only 4 buttons from axis. Can I set up more than 4?

I got one throttle too  they opened the sale 15 mins before, 5.45 gmt! :music_whistling:

Hotas Warthog, Logitech X55 or what else?

VpR81 you make me see the light  I decided to buy a Virpil T50CM2 throttle. I saw lot of review, even though the older models are "better" i think this is a great configuration to fit my needs. ok, the detents missing is a big deal. I thought not to buy it because of this lack. Then i saw this thread: https://forums.mudspike.com/t/throttle-finger-lifts/9954 This fits for the t50 model, the one for cm2 is on its way. I have the stp file of these pieces, so if i find someone to print these i'll try to test myself to modify and fit for CM2, or at least wait for the mod. For the grip, i'll buy Virpil too, but i need a desktop base, so the T50cm2 is too high... it would have been perfect, similar to warthog. So i'll buy the Constellation alpha when available with the warbrd base. It has "only" 3 hats on the stick, but i watched the tutorials for the virpil software and i saw that is possible to configure the analog stick to work as 4 buttons, just to make it as close as the warthog button configuration. This way i could have the trim hat, DMS and the "virutal" TMS, and the one for CMS. Bit expensive, but it seems to be the perfect solution. Hope it will last other 20 years of service :D -
Virpil Throttle afterburner detents (3D printed)

Ok great. I’ll try to buy one CM2 on the 25th April restock and then I’ll help the creators for the measurement  -
Virpil Throttle afterburner detents (3D printed)
panph90 replied to SneakyBastd's topic in VIRPIL Controls
hey guys, will it work even with VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle? i'm thinking of buying one if this 3dprinted works.. -
still having this issue :( i'm playing the enemy within campaign and in some cases the flir image is totally unusable. I tried to play with the gain and level parameters but it looks like is not an adjustment issue but a render issue. Is like having flare on the lenses, but sun are in the opposite direction... The issue occur in every TGP position (i mean target in front, under, left or right the plane), specially when the target are pretty close. In some cases, the flir camera goes black while swapping from wide to narrow zoom. The wide works, while the narrow goes black. anyone has the same error? :(

Hotas Warthog, Logitech X55 or what else?
panph90 replied to panph90's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
VpR81 thank you for your great reply. As you said, i think i won't choose the logitech/saitek one due to construction problem, i read too much about that, even thoug i have my Saitek X52pro since 2006 and, despite some problem regard to the plastics, the hardware is still working great after near 20 years of service. I've been waiting so long for new Gseries products to look for, but i think that's not a logitech priority if X56/52 is still selling good. As you said, the warthog can count on a great customisation for the stick, which is a great point for it. I can not use MDFs because i use VR headset, and i hope FS2020 will improve their software for VR too, with vr is difficult to reach button even on the keyboard, the mdfs is impossible, so i need an hotas with as much buttons as possible. I saw the virpil you told me, great stick and it looks even better than the TM warthog (talking about build quality), with the TM base could be a great customization. The WinWing f18 is in my wishlist since it came out, but i think is too specific for it, it has not has much buttons as the A10c stick, so it works great for f18 but i could be at the start point with the other modules, as other civilian simulators. Counting the hours i spent in simulators (pretty new to dsc, near 300hrs, and over 2000+ hrs on FSX) i can invest a discrete amount of money in this device, hoping it will last as long as my X52 pro. in this moment, the warthog is the best choice, despite i'm not convinced due to "axis lack" for flaps and spoilers for civilian sims. I have no hurry for buying a new one, just looking around and waiting for the "perfect one" (maybe a new Gseries joystick that will never arrive), or when my x52 will give up his life :) -
Hotas Warthog, Logitech X55 or what else?
panph90 posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi everyone, today I'm here for a simple but complex question. Which is the best Hotas for our purpose? And here's the deal. I said purpose and not best hotas for DCS. If I would use the hotas only for dcs, I would not have any doubt. HOTAS Warthog just right now. But if we use for other sims or games, is it the best anyway? Now I have an old (but gold) Saitek X52 Pro bought in 2006 and still without any problem, so happy with it. But the "button hungry" of any dcs module let me use lots of modifier, and I have to remember all the combinations, and it's a big deal. I'd like to have more versatility with more buttons. BUT, I've been using Flight Simulator as well for civilian trips around the world and this fall with the new FS2020 things will come even better. My question is: does the Hotas Warthog fit well even for civilian use? I think there's not enough axis, maybe for flaps or spoiler, propeller or mixture, and not enough buttons on the throttle (and on the throttle every button has label...) So my second choice could be the X55, but I heard lot of complain about build quality... And it haven't the "TDC" in the front of the throttle. Which is the best solution to meet both military and civilian usage? Do you feel comfy using Warthog in FS? or on the other hand, is X55 great for dcs? -

Mission 2: Convoy not moving from Kobuleti
panph90 replied to sirrah's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
i had same issue here today. Trying for the second time just now.. But maybe i got wrong because i shot down the truck, after the explosion the convoy didnt move... I'll try not to use deadly force :) -
The problem with the F14 is not to have it in the supercarrier module, but if we can take off from the deck... ED would have fix the launch problem?
-
This should be a TOP PRIORITY fix! For over a month my f14 is almost inoperable, it should have deserved an immediate hot fix instead of working on other stuff... Please fix it ASAP, at least for the launch of the super carrier I purchased...
