And now a bit Biology: Ba humbugi A snail first found on Mba, an island in the Fiji group. Couldn't find a picture though. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/20/weekinreview/20foun.html

:megalol: Getting your butt blown off by 'nonsense' or 'flimflam' gives this sim a new sense of realism. -"Sir. Our base is being attacked by baloneys!" -"Nonsense, lieutenant." -"Yes, sir. That's what I said, sir." :D

...and with the Su-32 Platypus we have all citizens of Duckberg and Mouseton together. I think the Russians have had enough of the silly NATO-Code names given to their planes and helos. Frogfoot (Su-25), Fishbed (MiG-21), Farmer (MiG-19), Beagle (Il-2), Hormone (Ka-25), Homer Simpson (Mi-12) and Crusty the Clown (Tu-134). So before the Americans could name the Ka-50 "Hans Wurst" :D , they probably decided to give it a "BAD" name. I'm just making educated guesses as you see. What does Hokum mean, by the way?

You're right. Each of us against the rest of the world ;). In my first online mission, well it was'nt a real 'mission' it was just three helos exercizing landings on an oil rig. One approaching and the other two watching from a close observation hover point. It was quite fun. After that, since my first online battle I was asking what the funk was going on in the heads of the simmers. The coaxial rotation of the blades must have some negative effect on some simmers. Can you explain the in-built voice exchange a little bit more precisely? And the difference in VE and TS? About Maus... he has been banned for my request. At least on STP server... if he has dynamic IP he will still be there cos STP admins didn't implement latest ServMan, which gives solution for votespammers and colliders. To avoid distractions I'm trying to avoid non-latest BS servers and flying on checked servers like 3Sqn or 104th. So so. Votespammers and colliders. There are specific names for the sxxt he produces? Fantastic!!!!! Thanks for clearing at least a few virtual places from "it". He has been able to start so fast due of new cheat - uber fast ramp start. Any solutions in progress to supress this cheat in the near future? Thanx. I'll definitely give it a try. But due to my job, I can't promise to be at the hangar on the given time. As a photographer I don't have a job that goes from '9 to 5'. Would that be a problem when joining a squad? I think when joining a squad, the first things to follow are discipline and being there when given the order to ;). I simply can't promise that, but as soon as I'm in the cockpit I'll follow any orders and follow you even into death, comrade ;). EDIT: Sorry guys for messing this post up with my quote-chaos . I hope you can sort my selfmade quotes. I don't know how to correct this:dunno:.

Guys! I'd love to have the Havoc-Module, too. It's a mean-looking beautiful helo, although it reminds me of an evil Goofy a bit ;). But nevertheless I think we have been told that it won't be produced, because a contract won't be signed between Mil and ED, due to its classification. It reminds me a bit of someone dreaming to winn a million in the lottery every week. Most dreams surely become true one day. This dream (a nightmare for its' enemies) won't become true in the near future. But if I had the choice between all helos, I'd definitely go for the Havoc first. And as a transport-helo, I'd vote for Mi-12, Mi-26 and Mi-8.

Hi guys, A few months ago I had some questions about online-simming and you all told me to try it out. I had my first online-session two weeks ago and to be honest, I'm quite disappointed. It reminded me of an ant farm, but less organized. Everyone just takes off and seeks targets to destroy, but there is no coordination at all. No formation flying, no command structure, or whatsoever. Pure chaos in my point of view. I had hoped to become a member in a formation, receiving, or giving orders. None of the above occured. On my last session, we all had to fight with an idiot, called 'Mous', who could restart much quicker than any of us (how does that work, btw?) and permanently crashed into us, hunted and killed us, just because we did'nt follow his request to kick one specific simmer. What also wondered me was, that he could'nt get kicked from that server. He was like a fly on a pile of sxxt, that you permanently chase away, just to see him land on that pile again a few seconds later. So, my question is: is there a special server, where the other serious simmers lurk around, or do you really like this sxxt that I have experienced recently? I really want to try it out, but I have had it up to my chin for now. Viva la ®evolucion!!! (Che Guevara and Charles Darvin) :D Adios muchachos.

There you mention a topic that bothers me, too. This sim has a great disadvantage when it comes to communicating with crewmembers. To some it's not an issue at all but to some, like me, it's a big issue that can kill the missions' atmosphere. Giving precise commands to or receiving detailed stats from my wingmen and even listening to the radio chats of other group members that are not related to your mission in Falcon 4 still gives a realism kick to it. Just to name one small scanario: When on a sweep mission I ask my wingmen how many weapons and fuel they have left. According to this info I organize the group and decide which ones have to attack and which ones have to cover me. Its very authentic when listening how they count how many of which missile and how much fuel they have left. It always takes time and time is sometimes crucial in emergency situations and sometimes you just have no time left, but this is as it is in reality. Nevertheless, you just can't have the "most beautiful girl" in the world, if you know what I mean. But if you close your eyes a little bit, she looks much more beautiful, does'nt she? And some have a different approach to this: They get drunk and even a garbage can can be the most beautiful girl until the morning ;). There are some things we have to get used to. Brother ED is always watching this forum. Maybe they have already planned something in this way and want to surprize us with one of the forthcoming releases, don't you ED;)?

Yeah. The first rides are like riding a mad bull. Not knowing where it will really go and where you will land/crash (god save the K-36) until you find out how to control it. The AP-Dampening channels and the correct trim. After managing those functions (more or less), you can concentrate on using the various functions and buttons. Have fun with the Shark-Flu ;).

I understand you. I was new to helos too and I quickly began loving it. Don't just go one way. Try to love both ways. Where else do you have the opportunity to 'float' in front of your enemies, select and destroy 'em, but with BS? Don't get fixated to one girl when you have the opportunity to have many ;). Just kiddin', but there's a bit of reality in my words. Monogamy does'nt count in sims ;). Only with real girlfriends.

You're welcome:thumbup:. I have mine since it is on the market. Keep your FFB2 but if you intend to buy another FFB joystick, go get the G940. Mine is still at the dealer and waits for me to buy it finally. I could unpack and test it at my dealer and it looks and feels quite good and I think it's worth buying. I'll keep my FFB2 as well. I have no intentions to replace it completely. If you still want the FFB2 software anyway, just let me know.

Well, I've never had any problems neither with vista (x64), nor Win7 (x64). Works flawless. During OS installation you can leave the stick plugged. It works immediately. One thing to take care of is: although plug&play, don't plug it in or out while your system runs. Always shut down the pc to plug or unplug the stick. Otherwise it behaves abnormal and won't work regularly. At least it was a must with Vista. Can't say if it got fixed with Win7. Oh. I forgot. No software install necessary (it doesn't work). But if you need the software anyway, I can upload it for you. This stick was made for eternity and you'll have fun with it for many many more years. If just MS would open their eyes and see how many people still use this stick and create some new drivers and softwares for the moders OS.

I agree. It's not terrible as some want to make us believe. With the Hi-Tiles addon and the additional cockpits it looks good. You can live with the terrain graphics and the pits look awesome. I don't really see a problem here. I will keep playing it even when having lost my two arms (don't ask me HOW though);). I agree with the bit sterile feeling of this sim. It's great to have a crowded airspace: outbounding formations regrouping for a mission, returning planes having flown a mission, approaching the airfield in low flight and lining up, transporters flying around. Listening to the radio comms of other nearby planes with eachother the AWACS and the tower and so on. This really gives a real war atmosphere. I don't want to nag around. Each sim has it's own 'personality' and is great for certain reasons. I'm happy with it, but I also miss the 'surroundings' a bit .

I know the trick with the new trim implementation. I think I've solved it by changing the tuning the ff and swapping axes. Let me gimme a try first. Yepp. I finally got it. Don't ask me exactly how I did it, but it could have something to do with swapping axis and adjusting the force levels. Thanks.

Fatal Crash @ Formationflight

Hi everybody. I've just installed Win7 (x64) on my pc and everything works fine so far. BS is the first and only game installation (SIM, sorry). It loads and starts without any problems. The only thing that doesn't work as it should is my MS FFB2-Joystick. after disengaging the trim button, the FF pulls my joystick to the right so that I have to apply some counterforce to keep the heli stable. Pressing the trim button again and holding it makes this issue disappear, I have'nt had this before. Has anyone experienced this problem, too and does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance. I have to add that after the clean install of BS I applied the "c"-patch. So i guess no mistake made here.

[quote=Frederf;796253 Just imagine sitting through a brief with a full F-10 style map and creating/editing out your plan before ever getting in the seat. You travel for 20 minutes to the pre-planned spot at the designated time and switch to VHF1 to contact the ground commander that gives you an intercept order for an incoming force. You leave your wingman on a hilltop ahead of the suspected enemy with a 3km maneuver leash, a medium weapon freeness, hover attack tactics, and a standoff weapon preference. Navigating around the valley the convoy sees you and gets off an SA-9 shot. Breaking away and dumping flares the convoy pops smoke and scatters down side roads making a difficult target. Just as you stabilize at a safe distance the ground force commander's radio crackles in and tells you of a new higher priority threat and you're away. How much of this is normal/possible in DCS:BS? From which movie-script did you steal this scenario;)? ED will have a hard time realising you wishes. But I like your scanario and am curious how much would be realizable.

Yep. I agree. Frugals was THE site for all F4 stuff, although making a fresh install of Falcon was quite a pain, because collecting all SPs and correct addons and mods in the appropriate order was sometimes confusing. Many things could go wrong while doing it and I was happy at least when I finally managed to set it up correctly. The more I hate real wars, the more I love sim-wars. Powered by Lockheed Martin, Sukhoi, MiG and Kamov . Aaaaaannnnndddd.... It had a fat 700 and some-page excellent manual included!!!!!!

But I see nothing negative in this effort to implement it. They already did hard work in creating this sim. And their money and development they spend will flow right back on their account when I pay for the next module. WORD ;)!!! So I dont expect them to create a new sim for free. I think noone in here does.

I can neither confirm, nor deny what you say. I have witnessed the birth of Falcon 4 and made my first steps in realistic flight-sims with it. And back then I could'nt scientifically analyze the dynamic campaign. I had none of the problems you have experienced with it. The community worked (and still does) hard with some Falcon variants to add more realism to it. Those guys did and still do a great job. I don't think anyone would regret a dynamic campaign added to DCS. Why should they? Nowadays everyone playing sims has a PC that is fast enough to handle dynamic campaign. So I don't really understand your negative point towards F4. It still kicks ass and I hope to see the fifth version of it. The communikation is still unmatched and gives so much realism into the game. I wished ED would rethink the communikation in BS and adds much more choices to the game...errrrr.... SIM (sorry);).
