Oh yeah .. that new trim system ...
Endoplasmic Reticulum replied to Ebodee's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I had some weird and interesting flights until I understood the logic behind the trimmer. And from that time on it was no problem using the trimmer. Only one thing was quite strange. When trimming to a hovering position it seems that the slightest misadjustment of the trimmer makes the helicopter draw an interesting Tango-style track memory on the Abris. Sometimes I got too close into the launch envelope of sams without noticing that my heli was moving. Slowly and unnoticable for the normal eye but when checking ther ABRIS I culd clearly see the traces on the screen. With the new update, I noticed that I could trim it more precisely and it stands there where i want it to stay. I'm not sure if it really is because of the new patch, or if I've just gained better hovering-practice in general.:joystick: -

What were his last words as you saw him the last time? If he said "I'm going out to buy some cigarettes" you'll hear nothing again from him. Then he surely is in the plane to Brazil and is gone forever. So you'll have to take the rudder in your own hands and say :"Yes. It's OK" to us :smartass:. Say Yes, yes, yes, yes...:smoke: -

And as you can see on the third Ekranoplan-Picture, it has thrust-vectoring as well. When it comes to begging...throw in the harrier or Gripen, then I make kebab for all. Oh, I think that's called corruption and not begging. But who cares. As long as I get my baby... -

Sorry pal. I begged first :notworthy:. Wait until it's your turn. I have another candidate noone can resist. And this one IS old. No electronics or whatsoever. And no need for a carrier as well :joystick:. That's what I call "Heavy Metal":punk: -

Hi folks. Although I had posted my wish before in this thread, i just want to be recognised again by the developers of the game, errr sorry... SIM ;). Although I love Sukhoi and Mig aircraft in any aspect, we had the SU 27-Family, Mig, F-16 and a few more. Not as realistic as it would have been in DCS, but we already had a big zip of that liqueur. Now we need some other refreshment. I have two, which in my oppinion would fit best in this sim regarding versatility and variability of use. I will also give a short explanation why you should implement one of the two, otherwise i won't play this sim anymore :protest:. Think about it :D. 1- AV-8B or any other Harrier. Best with radar missiles. As mentioned by HansRoam, absolutely unique and beautiful plane. S/TVOL, AG, AA, MR, Carrier-Ops, No runway needed. But any enthusiast surely knows it's advantages. 2- Jas-39 Gripen. Also multirole capable and road-strips as alternate runways. I think there's a good chance that the Harrier not classified anymore. Don't know about the Gripen, though. And last, but not least, MI-28N. A chopper that would wake evil thoughts in the mind of any pacifist . That's it for now. Have fun and keep in mind: >Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?<.:pilotfly: -

¿How are you supporting ED and DCS:BS?
Endoplasmic Reticulum replied to ESA_MistrL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Sure. everyone has its' likes and dislikes. As so many friends wanted to wake my interest in the Apache, my answer was "nah.. I'll stick to my beloved Falcon 4". But in general I'm a big fan of russian aviation and engineering. As a photographer I travel to many airshows worldwide. And MAKS is by far the best when it comes to military aviation. I recommend it to any enthusiast. The Hokum has always gained my full attention and as I heared that there would be a super-realistic Hokum-sim, i was like a cat scratching on the bedroom-door the whole night to get inside until I got the sim. And finally as I got it, I had sleepless nights sitting in the cockpit. In my oppinion, flying a helo is something refreshing, because you learn how to fly for the second time. So similar to planes but also so so so different. Great Job. I LOVE IT! -

Errrr... Sorry. Did you say that you don't like the Ka-50? I personaly can't imagine any simmer not liking this awesome sim. I've never played heli-sims before. After 2 hours of crashing onto rooftops and into my wingmen, I started loving it. It really is fun and the learning and motivation curve is very steep. Or are you just afraid of getting addicted?!?!? Then never ever touch this sim!! -

Endoplasmic Reticulum replied to Frostie's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
In general I think it's a good topic, but unfortunately this discussion is going offroad and shaking all the passengers without no reason ;). Why are you questioning the use of the ejection seat in helis in general? Because maybe the rotorblades won't go off and the pilot would be shredded to pieces? What about the canopy in fighterplanes? Maybe their canopy gets blocked and the pilot gets slammed against it and dies when ejecting. I don't know if this has happened before (in Top Gun it did, by the way ;)) but there's always a probability for this to happenbut noone is questioning the use of ejection seats on Fighters, though. Always better to have both chances, than relying on just one which might be the one that can't save you. I had a good survivability rate, but I still need the lives of several cats ;). Poor cats. Just my thoughts. -
how much would you pay for bs hotas
Endoplasmic Reticulum replied to warden's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
How much would I pay?... For me, money is not the limiting factor in this case. It has to be rock-solid I use my MS FFB2 since it came out and no issues at all), has to have a good force feedback and has to look as authentic as possible. Best would be interchangeable cyclic and collective levers to suit to the appropriate sim. So you can use your joystick and thrust a lifetime and can attach different parts to it (heli/plane sim). Still can't say anything about the price. Can be from 100-500€ ?!?!?!?!?! I don't know. Have to see and feel it first. Regards, ER -

Almost all of us began our "simming carreer" this way. After getting a taste of this drug, we all became addicted to this. In the beginning there was always the "this-is-cool-factor" and my recommendation is not to cure this addiction :pilotfly:. -
Then you must be aching for the release of the Mi-24V so she can simulate your stewardess when transporting troops to the battlefield and everything will be fine again:smartass:.
-
Then mine is Cliffhanger. Whenever I land on Admiral Kuznetsow my wingman lands on the tip of the landing deck with the front wheel in the air.

Hi folks, recently I wanted to tune my MS Force Feedback 2's Axis, but the field isn't highlighted and I have no access to this function. Has anyone experienced this too? I know I managed to tune it once as I installed the game, but now...:joystick:. Could this be a Vista (64X)-issue? Thanx in advance.

As a former waiter I think I can explain it better when I compare this Game with a meal you take in a restaurant, and ED and all other participants that have worked and still do work on this game, with the waiters and cooks "preparing and serving" this product. When I go to a restaurant, i don't go there just fill my stomach. I want to see the effort in cooking the meal and presenting it in an appetizing way by the cooks and having it served by a sympathetic waiter/waitress that likes contact with customers and has an open ear for their wishes and complaints. If these factors are present I'm rewarding this with a big bakshish:smartass:, because then I can say "this was a nice day as a whole". Same with this sim. The developers are maniacs (meant in a positive way;)) that love their work at least as much as we love the result of their work. I don't think they put a "bling-bling-i-do-this-to-buy-a-ferrari-soon" enthusiasm into it to make the biggest amount of cash in the shortest period of time. Everyone in here knows and appreciates this, right? I respect hard work and and would have paid even more to reward their effort and enthusiasm, although it was cheaper than some other games/sims you can buy nowadays, by the way. On the other hand I still think a full printed user manual is a must in a boxed sim:music_whistling:. I hate the pdf-manual-crap when it comes to complex sims/softwares. @th3flyboy So you tell us you support WalMart;)?!?!?! -

Endoplasmic Reticulum replied to ESA_MistrL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Have bought Flanker 2.0/2.5, Lock-On (LoMac)/Flaming Cliffs, Black Shark and will order the printed manual. So a lot of support from my side, I think. To be honest. I don't buy every game that I want to try out. Sometimes I download it play and delete it after an hour or so, because it does'nt match my interest. It's different with realistic flight-sims. I see the huge work behind that to create a sim for a "few" simmers. The company will never earn as much money with these sims as with typical commercial games which you can finish within a few hours to a few days. So the work input is much much more intense for a "few" bucks. I reward this with my full (financial) support and buy it, regardless of a copy protection or whatsoever safety mechanism, or no protection at all. I always "spread the word" and try to wake other peoples' interest to this game. If I'm successful, I show him the game at home and tell him to buy it. I'm not religious, but simming could be my religion. Lets see ;). -
Right! Dynamic campaign is what I miss most. And the Wingman/Tower communication could be more detailed. Just to name three: Tower communication in emergency situations and Weapons/Status check commands and optional attack procedures commands could be implemented in my point of veiw. BUT I LOVE THIS SIM !!!!!!!!!!!
