Wing tanks are CAT III. There should be documentation explaining all of this in the -2, but I can't find a freely available copy of it.

Correct and that's also an issue that a lot of this stuff is not described in the public documents

If you are going to slap big heavy stuff onto the plane, things are changing to the flight caracteristics and need to be within certain boundries. That why the switch is there to prevent certain movements of the aircraft, so the FCLS doesn't lose control.

Remember that the F-16 cannot fly without computers, because it has a very unstable design (hence it's maneuverability)

The CAT I / III switch doesn't limit how much G's you can pull directly, but it limits AoA and roll, which in terms affects how many G's you can pull at a certain speed. In Cat III, you can still hit 9 G's, but you need a higher speed to do so.

You can test it by loading the jet up with bombs and wing tanks and start a steep climb. Put the switch in Cat I and start a roll and pull on the stick to command max AoA and you'll most likely loose control of the aircraft. Now try the same again with the switch in Cat III and the system will project you from loosing control (departing controlled flight is the correct term)

This is exactly what happens if you have a syntax error in the modified LUA file. The file just seems to disappear.
If you send me your modified file via PM I'll look at it. Maybe I can see what's wrong.

Correct and make sure the name in the monitor.lua file and the name in the RWR.lua file are identical. Also make sure that the RWR.lua file is modified, so that it can be exported

Alright, after I dropped my bombs I also had 2 wing tanks 3 x aim120s and aim9, so I thought it would be CAT III with those, but it gave me warning while my plane was in CAT III configuration.

what about the warning panel light, should it go off when the error is acknowledged?

You can just flip the Cat I/III switch and the error should clear.

Technically speaking, it's not a fault, but an advisory

But the ECM pod on centerline station is CAT III?

So I'm getting a stores config caution, with 4 AAMs two wing tanks and ECM pod on centerline, with the switch set to CAT III. Is that correct behavior? Because that is a CAT III load.

Not sure about the ECM, ill have to look that up, but that config is 100% Cat 3

I know. But all whats in stations 5, 5L and 5R is CAT 1.

    At least on Block 50.

Not true, the Sniper pod for example is Cat 3. During BFM training we remove the pods to prevent damage due to high G forces during training

    He's wrong! 5, 5L and 5R stations are CAT I.

And what @SpecterDC13 forgot so say as well, is that CAT III is mainly limited to AOA, which is between 16 and 18 deg (depends on the gross weight). DCS currently has that implemented, but is always to 18deg (it does not vary between 16 and 18).

Don't know who answered that as Solution, go figure.

It's not the station which is the issue, it's what you mount to that station.

You can hang sta. 1 2 3 7 8 9 with A-A missiles and its still Cat 1. Replace 3 and 7 with a Mk 82 and it becomes Cat 3, same station, different load

Hard to believe the ECM pod is CAT III on the centerline station. Centerline external tank is not according to the manual, and it's both bigger and heavier then the short pods.

The TGP and HTS are CAT III certainly.

Centerline tank is 100% Cat 1. We use that config for all our BFM training (in RL)

As near as I can tell they're etched into the surface of the RWR display.  Pretty much any aircraft can be cold and dark and you still see the rings, so no power required.  The other option is to print/etch them yourself and overlay the display.

Depends on the display themselves, some are fully digital in RL

  8. Well, the problem is that for me there is no noticable difference in trimmer modes in the special tab.

I get the same jerky motion with all the trimmer modes and that wasn't the case before. I know holding down the trimmer button during manouvring, but when i release the trimmer button and release the stick back to neutral, the aircraft still puts in extra motion, causing me needing to trim again.

It's like the aircraft is putting in extra trim over my trim, because my stick "was" in that position. And my stick setting is on "neutral stick trimmer", so i should have more time to release my stick back to center, but that is not happening and therefore i have a feeling that both trimmer settings in the special menu act the same and the tracks show it too

Happens in BS II and BS III

  9. Hello,

i recently got in the BS III again and noticed that the controls were quite jerky after trimming. I went to the special tab and noticed it was in "Center Position" trimmer mode. For comparison, i changed it to "Instant Trimmer" and loaded up the same mission. to my feeling, there is no difference between the 2 at the moment.

Every time i set the trim and release my stick back to center, the AP still gives an extra input to the controls (especially on roll) making flying difficult and jerky

    Anyone noticed this aswell?

    center trim.trk default instant trim.trk

  10. Bump...

plz ED, can you take a look into the request made in the first post? Some more axis bindings are very helpful for the Blackshark, as some key bindings are hard to make fine adjustments with, like Shkval brightness and contrast

Hi, I released an updated version of the manual on our Discord that covers the IFF update and the kneeboard has a special page that notes the important changes.

I was not able to make all the changes needed for the manual to be released with the module. I should've posted the IFF section which is 99% ready on the forum in the mean time.

Here it is, sorry for the inconvenience.

It's ok, i know you are guys are busy.

    Carry on

  12. Thanks for the link. To bad Razbam themselfs don't have the time to explain the new features or procedures they implement (as others do). It's very subtile mentioned in the patch notes and really easy to look over
