Seems to me that the original poster voiced an opinion about how he felt the the tutorial section should run, and the creator of that section said “I created it and this is how I want it to be run. As far as I’m concerned that ends the debate. Only thing left to do is exorcise your right to view or not view specific content. Not sure how that could be any more clear?

As a noob I gotta say, for all the hoopla about the fantastic cinematic Jester voice overs. It is literally annoying as shit to listen to watching training videos. I can’t imagine listening to that on an actual flight. My plan is get the feel of the “sim” with FC3 then “study” the F5. Like the old school feel of the plane without diarrhea mouth screaming “sam break left” every 3 seconds. It’s literally like having my mother inlaw in the cockpit! “CLOUDS!! Break right “ That said the F14 looks like a hoot. Would love to see a hi fi Russian bird by the time I figure out how to fly the basics. In time I’m sure. Good luck with your choice!

That’s what the box says. I have watched a ton on YouTube about parts selection and communicated with many folks who know more than me on the subject. This unit seems to have good reviews and I figured if gold was good, platinum must be better. I guess we shall see how that logic plays out. I was more concerned about having enough wattage than anything else, not really sure what the certification stuff really means other than it is apparently important enough to be included in most product advertising. Now if I can only find a place to source a swiss army knife and a cpu installation tool? Anyone have a contact number for the Verge??

I’m obviously new so must have missed that. Went with a 1200w platinum fully modular. Figured it should do the trick but admittedly have very little knowledge So his input is welcome. I can always return what I have. Thanks!!

Not exactly sure where your going with this but if it’s what I think.... Of course the rest of the components are new and matched as well. Last non laptop unit around these parts had a math coprocessor ???? so not planning on reusing anything. Wasn’t really relevant to the question at hand so I didn’t list it all out. Thanks, been picking a lot of smart folks brains! Is there a problem with 64 mb ram? I know most people say 32 is fine but by shit canning all the fancy RGB stuff, I had a little extra coin left over and it really didn’t cost that much extra.

I just purchased a ton of modules and about 7k worth of PC components because of the Reapers videos. You guys seem pissed because you got scooped. Alternatively, if you don’t have your own content then your completely out of line. Make a great tutorial! Don’t watch theirs! You don’t get to decide for an entire community whats “proper”. The thing that kills participation in most clubs,groups, hobbies ect are the “elites” that try to be better than everyone and ruin it for all. If you want your precious “exterior of the F5 without the incorrect rivet pattern” your going to need folks to join and PAY for development costs and staff. Thanks! I will reverse my plan and put windows on the smaller m.2! I purchased several modules from ed during the sale and will be primarily using the index once up and running. Is steam required for the index? If yes does that go on os drive or DCS drive? Again, literally 1000’s of page’s already in the forum but its hard to get through it all and know what is still relevant vs what has since been superseded. Thanks for your help and patience!

My apologies if this is the incorrect section. I also tried the search function but it produces reams of non relevant postings so I will just toss it to the experts. Just purchased the components for a dedicated Dcs pc. I9, 2080ti 64Gb ������ ram. I also ordered 3 drives. A sata 2tb storage and 2 M.2 drives. 1 is 1tb, 1 is 500gb. My question, load windows 10 on the big M.2 drive and everything DCS related on the 500gb m.2? If not, can someone suggest the best layout for software loading for efficiency keeping in mind im of the older generation so it may not be so obvious to me? Cant you just go to the control section in DCS, select the autopilot command line then in the column under throttle control highlight the box and flip the switch just like setting any other switch/ plane function? What am I missing!

Is it required to run steam to use index? Would you recommend it or not if it’s optional? Just ordered most of my pc components and have the index and Virple stuff already. Just don’t want to clog up a brand new system thats only going to run DCs. Thanks in advance I know its been asked but not really savy on search function yet

Howdy, The issue really is failure to commit on my end quite frankly. Getting up in years and trying to find a new hobby that matches The speed of my old body. Already did the Rc plane gig, muscle car resto and several home flipps. Getting too damn old. The Reapers videos really had me sold. I have a history with aircraft and this seemed like a way to relive some of the “good ole days” Without another chunk of lead in my ass. Started acquiring components. Decided VR was the way I wanted to experience your world. Spent a lot of time reading the forum in the interim and it just started to sound like more and more of a hassle so I decided to reach out. Sounds like from the feedback I have received is that it has issues but not at the programmers level so I think I’ll give it w whirl. Ps. Its responses like “ cant help ya unless ya post your dcs log and dxdiag that really give me pause. Wtf is that?????? Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
