  1. I cannot believe this. For me its like saying HOTAS is a "nice to have", optional hardware. Flying without it, will never be the same.
  2. Thank you Gunnergolly ! This really did work ! I am so happy now. :)
  3. Thank you, it still doesnt work. But now i know that i am not alone. (i really did use the search function, before posting this thread) cheers.
  4. I tryed with different distances(right now) and it didnt work. After i pass B1, it always switches directly to M2 and not U2, as i would hope. Also i cannot switch between M2/U2 when i press B2. But thank you for your hint.
  5. Hello. I did read the manual and also watched the video from Leathernek about ARAK Pop up, but i dont get the "U" waypoint displayed. I also cannot switch between "M" and "U" as is written in the manual, when i press the corresponding waypoint button. My Procedure is as follows.(on the ground, or while flying, doesnt make a difference) --> Data Panel Selector to TAKT. --> IN/OUT Switch to IN. --> Number 9 then B2. (To set waypoint 2 as a target point, but i read in the manual that this isnt even necessary, and it also seems like it because i will also get an "M" displayed, when i skip this point) --> entering the direction and distance from where i want to "pop up" eg. 22007(first 3 digits direction, last 2 digits distance in km) and B2 again, to save it to M2. --> IN/OUT Switch to OUT. --> Data Panel Selector back to AKT POS When i invert the last to steps, it doesnt make a difference. I would love to get some help. Thank you in advance. :helpsmilie:
  6. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to the next one. Thank you !
  7. The F-29 Retaliator on the good old Amiga 500. It was the first game we had on the Amiga, and i played it alot. But at that time, i was only 6 or 7 years old and had some difficulty's understanding the mechanic. After that came the F/A 18 Interceptor, Fighter Bomber and Gunship 2000 (and some others)
  8. Great job ! Thank you for your dedication !
  9. Thank you very much for your shared found ! The landing is something you have to get used too, but as long as you fly fast(350-400kmh) and shallow and get the right "feeling" to "flare" (i hope thats the right word), you can do it as easy as in any other plane. I had also a very hard time at the beginning, but after about 20 landings i would say i can land it quite safely under normal circumstances. Its something one has to get used to. Hopefully you enjoy the ride as much as i do, its one of my favorite planes now, since i had the opportunity to learn it as deep as its provided in this simulation.
  10. 33 here. And this was my first FlightSim and also my first Game on the Amiga500.
  11. ups i did missunderstood the poll and clicked on "not support". Of course i would !
  12. @eXPeRT So you will tell me that only proffessionals who earn money with a specific kind of information are legitimate to have some idea about something? 99% of all discussions would be dead at the beginning then and nearly all forums empty. I just tryed to be polite and didn't had any intentions to sound like a smartass, thats why i adressed that i am not a professional and don't know for sure, but wan't to know for sure. (But i got information from a professional) Can i assume then that you are a trained professional and can clarify this subject with hard facts/data? I would appreciate it. If not, maybe we can meet someday (we can arrange a date with PM's) and i will be your wingie for a mission to learn from you? Thank you
  13. I never had success with pre-emptive flares and i think i did test it quiet intensive. I would love to see videos about using pre-emptive flares successfully against manpads in DCS-World because then i can learn something and i always wan't to learn something about air combat tactics. As an example i didn't know that the sun can have an effect with IR-Seekers. If this is the case, where can i read about it ? (real life and DCS-World documents/statements) As far as i know the Sa18 in DCS-World does not work as its real life counterpart. I don't know for sure, because i am not a trained proffessional, but i think it should work pretty similar to the Mistral missile because they are both 3rd generation IR-seeker missiles. The Mistral missile, once locked and fired, will hit the target no matter how many flares you pop. But you can delay or prevent the lock-on with pre-emptive flares. Thats what i was told from a trained proffessional. Also i am very curios how this single guy with an igla can see me coming when i fly treetop level and shot me from max range. It just is very strange und from my perspective very unrealistic and also not fun. The best is always to stay high enough to not get hit(above 12.000ft AGL), but there are times when you know there are other threads which force you to go low and dirty and for me thats the most fun part of flying the A10. My current fix is to use the Detection scrip mod http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117424 and to be ready to pop flares like crazy as soon as i get a missile launch. Its much better with the mod but also far from perfect.(sadly) Or to only fly missions without manpads at all. If someone is skilled enough to know how to use the A10 in a high threat environment, which prevents flying high, with possible manpads, which are always possible because they are stealthy and lightweight, then i highly wan't to know about this tactics and i am sure many others want to know them too.
  14. So i tested my pop up attack now with the release version of the "Detection Script" and it was a big difference. Now the Igla attacked me after my bombing run and not while i am still low before popping. I did only 1 testrun now, because i wanted to share my experience. I highly recommend this script for Manpads. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117424 edit : @ Flagrum : I understand that absolutly. I just have troubles believing the way manpads are working here in DCS-World. And also the information network around all anti air vehicles.
  15. Your script works good (1.2.6). Thank you very much, this will be a standard script for all my missions.
  16. Thank you MBot, i will try it ASAP.
  17. I dont perceive any difference when i use the detection script, which i extracted from the detection script demo. Just a bit more randomness in the detection range. (approx. from 2.2nm to 2.5nm in 3 runs) But still absolutly no surviveability. That the A10 has no surviveability within low altitude in a combat environment with manpads sounds very strange to me, because i thought it was build for exactly this kind of missions. Hog Basics: RAF Bentwaters Tactics Guide 1982 page 5 Maybe i am wrong. But still, i can remember last year i talked to an austrian anti air crew officer about the mistral weapon which is in use in austria and is also a 3rd generation IR-Seeker missile like the SA-18. He told me about a complex network of information how it get passed etc. and that there is always a multilayer defense network of all kinds of AA weapons in the operation area. If he gets a call from his commander that an air-threat is entering his area of operation and he can spot the target visually, then he can destroy the target even if it pops flares. But ONLY if the seeker allready has a lock-on. If the plane pops flares before he can lock on, his chance of success degrades noticeable. I can't help myself other then to ban manpads for missions i want to fly. :( edit : Also i am curiose why the A10 has this big gun, if it wasn't meant to be low? What use do i have of this gun, when i am at 20.000ft or more ? Wasn't this gun designed to crack tanks? Can i destroy tanks with this gun when i am at high altitude? I don't think so.
  18. If i only go in high, what is the purpose of pop up attacks? I thought its a way to engage targets who are covered by long range SAM systems. But if a single manpad can nullify this tactic, its like there is no use for pop up attacks. I also noticed that BMP2's are not only deadly against helicopter's, but also A10's popping in.
  19. I forgot to mention that the first manpad fire's before i do my pop up. So i am at tree top level and got shot down when i enter maximum range of the Sa-18 even if i use pre-emptive flares.
  20. I thought that IRL A10's are designed for a high threat environment. And you never know if there is a manpad or not. Pop Up attacks are designed so the enemy has no time to react to the first strike. Or not?
  21. I try to engage a pre planned target area (trucks with Mk82HDGP) which is covered by a BUK and 2 single Manpads. I come in very low (treetop level) and very fast (320kts) for a pop up attack, because of the threat of the BUK. As soon as i reach aprox 2nm (3.7km) from the first manpad, it opens fire immediately and always ( 5 attempts or more) hits me, regardless of flares or maneuver(breaking left or right). There is no other unit linked in group with the single manpad unit. Question : How do i engage targets, without a sead strike against the Long Range SAM in a pre planned pop up attack when 2 single Manpads cover the combat area?
  22. Hello Forum ! After some time (random) my server minimizes the DCS-World program into the taskbar and this brings the server to crash. It is a dedicated DCS-World computer with windows7 64bit which is located in another room and i service it with teamviewer. The performance and everything is fine, and i can remember that i used it with up to 15 people without any problem. I have no clue what to do, maybe someone knows this problem and can lead me into the right direction.:helpsmilie: thank you very much !
  23. I have the same problem and i also come to the conclusion that deleting the first "land" order could repair this official mission. But as Trainzak allready said, you just delay the problem to the landing part.
  24. For whatever reason did Steam now take my Huey key. -- Problem solved, but without any idea why. :-)
  25. Did i wrote in the false section, or is this a insolvable problem which isn't worth to answer or do i have something else to do, to get help with my product activation on steam? I thought this was the way to go, to get product support for the Belsimtek Huey. :-(
