  1. Fair enough. As I said in the response to the other guy, this idea may die here. I just provide the idea here for future reference in case others with more open minds or experimental temperaments to consider. If DCS is in the business of simulation and can make a butt load of cash by being the first to partner with third party device makers to push out a new product, and in the end help the business further, then the only thing stopping them would be how open minded the community is to new ideas. Yes, I am aware of the nature of G straining. What is your point? Why do some people get chairs that rock with G forces, if it is also not a full refection of reality? Because it brings them closer by a step to the real feel. A seat shaker also will not cause all the blood in your body to pool to your feet. Yet people are willing to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a seat shaker. Yes, I may give modding this a try. But at some point there needs to be some integration point. Who said this needs to be prioritized higher than your requests. Again, if you don't like the idea, please feel free to post your higher priority ideas and get them rated higher. To me I see the wishlist forum as a repository of ideas. Not some place to waste time negatively shooting down other peoples ideas, so that nothing in the game changes.
  2. Thank Northstar for these details. I agree with you and see similar behavior. In your tests, what skill level was your AI opponent? To me, and from what I read some other users also find, any skill level higher than Average, and the AI plane gets less restrictions on turning speed loss and acceleration. I was looking around some lua files and see some parameters like lift and drag coefficients for certain planes. This suggest the plane, whether player or AI controlled may use the same coefficients. But with higher skill levels, the speed up or down limitations are relaxed. This is something that did not seem to be the case in version 1.5.5. which I also still have installed as well. In the older version Excellent skill behaves like Average skill now. I also hope they will revert back to the more realistic, less arcade like skill sets of the earlier version. However this request is some what different, and is only related to AI F-5 flap usage, which to me seems it could be separate.
  3. That is a fair assessment. However since I see the flaps being used by the AI during landing, and since the AI F-5 also flies like its flaps are up, we can only assume there is a correlation, unless you or a dev or someone else can show what you suggest is true in the scripting. Even if the animation does not correlafe to the scripting, then the purpose of this bug report is to request that it does. The main point is that it is not working to the benefit of the AI F-5 and this affect wingman usage. I suggest this should be considered rather than brushed under the rug because 'its scripting'.
  4. Why do you keep welcoming people to the internet? Are you some sort of forum guru? That go to line gets very tiresome. What do you contribute here? Wait never mind, I really don’t care to know. I am entitled as you are to promote my ideas in a wishlist and defend them. All I see from you and the other guy is negativity. At least the other guy doesn’t talk like he is still in high school. Yes, arguably ridiculous. Just as other peripherals were before they were in regular use. If the military used this to simulate fighting Gs, I bet all the sim community would start warming up to the idea. It may very well be so unpopular that the idea dies here. Only way to know is to post and get through the annoying angry close minded nay sayers like you.
  5. What? That doesn’t even make sense. Why are you even on this forum if you don’t like simulation then? Why so bitter?
  6. Dude, why so fearful of change? Never an idea of your own so you have to complain about other ideas? I see you use trackir. 10 years ago you probably said "Seriously?", and now you use it. It must be disappointing being closed minded all the time.
  7. Not sure what you are getting at Fri13. People use mics in DCS for multiplayer, and those who do not take part in MP like me, can use the Viacom Voice Attack to talk to AWACS/GCI, ATC, and Ground Crew, rather than use the Comms F menus. The purpose of this request is not to record the sound of our breath, but to provide a way to allow players to fight off G blackouts like an actual fighter pilot does by using our breath pressure. Currently if you pull too many Gs you have to relax your maneuver or deal with the blackout. Having a device like this gives players an option like a real fighter pilot. I only commented on the mic, as more thought needs to go into how to place a mouth piece for the device in a head set which does not interfere with a mic, which some are already using.
  8. Is that even possible for the average DCS player to afford and acquire? Who said you have to breath into it for hours? You just have to breath into it when pulling Gs. You can not do it and never experience it, or you can do what you suggest if you have a few thousand dollars lying around. Does Thrustmaster even support this yet? Real pilots "breath into a plastic tube for several hours".
  9. The AI F-5 is not fighting to the best of its ability in that it seems to never use its maneuvering flaps and slaps. I tested, pitting it against an AI MiG-21 and it loses most times because it is not taking advantage of its main weapon, its maneuverability. This is a major concern for users who do not engage in multiplayer, and rely on AI wingmen. Already the DCS MiG-21 has a very unrealistic flight model. E.g. place an AI MiG-21 against an AI F-16 and watch as the MiG-21 not only keeps up with the F-16 in tight turning, despite having no combat high lift devices, but the MiG is also able to out last the F-16, which eventually runs out of fuel fighting the MiG, despite having a turbofan engine and more fuel in blended wings. But with this the F-5 has no chance if it doesn’t even use its best attribute. Can the AI scripts for the F-5 be updated to use maneuvering flaps?

  11. Just to add, for example in the F-5, you can see the gauge indicating air flow, and the simulated pilots breath. This could potentially also be integrated To the breathalyzer.
  12. Just an idea. Did a search in Amazon for “USB Breathalyzer”. Could it be possible to have DCS recognize and use such a device to say allow players to breath into the device during air combat in order to slow the rate of high G blackouts? It would be interesting to consider how this could be integrated with players already using headsets with mic’s in the way. But it could further Increase the simulation of a real dogfight. Maybe only requiring calibration for a simple exhale, rather than a real life straining breath, to avoid pc simmers from blacking out in real life :)
  13. Just a googling example of maybe what we could integrate: https://www.amazon.ca/A4-enregistrement-Bluetooth-Utilisation-production/dp/B07MLGS622/ref=sr_1_10?crid=30171I4O7L5NB&dchild=1&keywords=usb+switchboard&qid=1593780401&sprefix=switchboard+USB%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-10 https://www.amazon.ca/Behringer-XTOUCHMINI-BEHRINGER-X-TOUCH-MINI/dp/B013JLZCLS/ref=sr_1_32?dchild=1&keywords=USB+knob&qid=1593624704&sr=8-32
  14. Oh, that is fantastic! Thanks very much Dmitry for your assessment and help!:thumbup:
  15. Okay sure Mr Burns, Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind for the future.
  16. Thanks Sprool, that would be great! I haven’t yet bought the controller, pending whether this is possible. If you could send that would be fun to look at.
  17. Thanks for supporting this Draconus! These are great ideas  I vote for medium or hard!
  18. Thanks very much OverStratos for everything you are doing! I have been waiting for 26 years for a good MiG-19S sim. I can wait a little more for the dream. The P so far is awesome, and even unfinished, I put it right up there with Belsimtek’s F-5 :thumbup:
  19. It seems we have different needs this time. But Thanks very much Fri13 for your objective and detailed response again.
  20. Great details Sprool, Thanks very much for sharing. I will check it out.
  21. Awesome, Thanks Andy for these details. I will check it out.
  22. The current mapping controls are good, yes, for checking buttons. But what is being asked for is a way to speed up the process, while in the cockpit on top of what is available now, as an option. I don’t map the same button across all planes. I go for realism and if one switch in one plane is in one part of the cockpit, I put it in the corresponding place on the keyboard, and will place differently for another plane if it has it elsewhere.
  23. I am thinking of building a virtual cockpit using lua Marcos and auto hot key. Rather than use only multiple keyboards with custom key caps, I am also thinking of using USB Midi Controls for music, but instead us the knobs for cockpit knobs. Are these peripherals detectable and supported by DCS?
  24. Although I presented the request, I think Sirrah's ideas are more ideal.
  25. I had added an Awacs plane but it wasn't an option in the M48. Just took a mission where I was able to communicate with it as a plane, changed it to let me play as M48, but no menu. Sorry not sure I understand your question. Are you asking me why I want to play as a tank? If so, why not, if it is possibly?
