  1. How is that scary? How is that different from anywhere else?
  2. Uh okay. My point was flyable assets from both sides, not just a lob sided event. So not sure where the whole free thing even matters to me. My concern is I want to learn the attributes of both sides of every conflict. Hard to do that with inaccurate enemy AI models that are casually thrown in as part of a NATO sim.
  3. Ah, okay, Thanks for pointing it out. Considering some of the closed minded comments on this sub forum recently, I guess I quite happy they got deleted.
  4. I agree. I wouldn’t buy this map, the Corsair or the Hellcat until there are flyable opponents for those.
  5. Hopefully. Too bad they are not doing different pilot liveries any more, as they had promised in the interview with that YouTuber with the annoying voice.
  6. Some other potential 3rd party is already working on the MiG-17. Or at least that’s what they promised for last year. Orphan? Huh? I also vote for La-11. Would be nice to have that 5 hour range in such a small package, that is still maneuverable at mid to low altitude.
  7. I completely agree. The whole CGI thing has been way overplayed for decades now. Just more of the corporate world trying to use each and every possible form of automation to squeeze more profits, while paying workers less, while the soul of everything, whether work or art is destroyed. Talk about overdoing it. Everything looks like Pixar now. Any you are right, PLAAF, that cartoon was refreshing and does look like a moving painting.
  8. I imagine it is no different than The Mighty Hercules. Someone without knowledge of that mythology might find a talking centaur quite weird as well. interestingly, both cartoons seem to share similar drawing or animations styles, which are quite different from what we see anywhere today. So differences seem to be less related to regions or cultures and more due times or eras. Could this suggest that the lack of tolerance of various political entities nowadays against other geopolitical opponents could be in comparison less than the lack of tolerance the same political entities might have for their own culture from just a few decades ago?
  9. That was an interesting conclusion. With all the soldiers around, the one to kill the guy in the end was the bird
  10. I’m a bit confused. Which post above was not DCS related?
  11. Thanks Torbernite for sharing this news! And Thanks Deka for making this happen! Looking forward to trying on this pilot model!
  12. This channel also has an 8 part miniseries documentary on the J-8:
  13. I think you are right. It may just be the viewing angles. FlankerFan just posted a high quality vid on another thread which shows a good side view while taking off and I see you may be right about the slight forward sweep of the trailing edge. Any idea if there are other outside museums with no ropes or chains?
  14. That's a good video of the J-8 flying. I found another video where it is doing maneuvers. The quality is low res but it kind of gives a good idea of the J-8's manuveurability:
  15. That’s awesome, Thanks Torbernite for taking the photos despite the museum layout difficulties! I’m jealous, I hope I can also visit later this year and try my hand at taking some pics too. I remember seeing online some guys posing where they actually climbed up on a Q-5 that was displayed outside with no ropes or chains. I guess that may have been a different museum not near the military. Thanks also for focusing on the tail fin. I see what you mean about the forward slant in this pic. However the ones you posted below seem to be straight down. Maybe this pic’s fin is bent to the left? If it is not too much trouble, apart from the J-6IiI and J-5A pics PLAAF requested, any chance of taking some Q-5 pics also? Once again, Thanks for your efforts and for sharing! Keeps me salivating while we patiently wait for the module release
  16. Oh, okay. Does it show that I don’t own the viggen?
  17. This is just an idea. This is by no means meant to distract the developers away from churning out new planes or fixes. Just an idea for the future. Deka has always been cool with new ideas other devs haven’t tried e.g. the insertable flight plan cartridges, the variety of languages for the in cockpit “bitchin betty” female voice, etc. Maybe some day Deka would be the first to provide a clickable exterior to the plane. We have clickable cockpits, it might be cool to also be able to click on panels, remove/apply covers, wing edge protectors, chocks, or even do maintenance work, like refueling, reloading guns, or replacing engines, and have these affect the “hit points” and load outs of the plane. Maybe the free camera could be duplicated, and the duplicate view could be constrained to the ground, paired with a walking 3D guy (like the view we get when we eject and are paired with parachute guy) and be able to manipulate objects if the camera is close enough. Eg. Move the ladder over to the plane. So much we can utilize from flight manuals, but all those maintenance manuals go ignored. Maybe if this was a thing it the future, it could open a whole new market, for those who like to “tinker” with things.
  18. Well, in terms of being a hot blooded youth, you did yourself admit to being direct. I don’t consider myself hot blooded, but I will defend passionately what I believe in and what I feel is right. It doesn’t take youth to do that. Are Zhao Lilian, Wang Wenbin and Wang Yi hot blooded youth too? Regarding the law, I am with someone from Wuxi, and she thinks you may be overreacting. No worries my friend, I am sorry too. We just have different perspectives.
  19. Yes, it is all in how you say it. So when did I say this suggestion was meant to be disrespectful? You are interpreting it as disrespectful. Of all the people on this forum who I might have guessed would be insulted by this idea, you were the last person I would have imagined. Geez, take it easy. It was to me an idea to commemorate the module, and you twist it into some heinous suggestion. Yes the logic stays the same but you misinterpreting the logic. Again, aren’t you taking liberties with your username? I am merely make a suggestion but you have fully committed to what you are accusing me of. For the record, the word blasphemy can refer to religion or not religion. And I am answering you without emotion while you seem to be getting quite strung up about this, citing laws and such. People nowadays are far too sensitive. So who is acting more like a youngster here? I am not asking you to care what I do at home. Just relax, man. The game does not only belong to you, and everyone can make suggestions.
  20. I respect the laws of every country. But I think you are taking it out of context. Why does official in China not object to that anthem appearing in Youtube on on BiliBili? Those are also platforms for entertainment. And who says I play DCS purely for entertainment? I look at a fairly well done full fidelity simulation as a learning tool. You are talking about the National Anthem, the PLA Anthem is not the National one and appears in media all the time. For the record, I suspect I may be far older than you, definitely not a youngster. And for me enjoying a cultural song is not blasphemy. In the end it is up to Deka. That is why I posted this as a wishlist. If they don't do it, I may mod my home version to do it. I don't consider it an insult, but a celebration. In contrast, I think you are being a bit presumptuous and constrictive. Again, by requesting a martyr be immortalized in media, how is that slander? It is all in how you look at it. I say it is a celebration, not an insult. For the record, when I suggest him or someone like him for the likeness of the virtual pilot, I am sharing the same virtual seat as him, so how am I shooting at him? You don't want him to be put in a position where he can be shot at? He himself volunteered to be a soldier! I think you are being to sensitive my friend.
