Issue is with ingame X and Y coordinates, which appears as X and Z coordinates, when pressing Ctrl+Y or on the bottom the values for CSS. Moving the mouse up increases X, moving right increases Z. So far, so confusing. I can get used to it. However, this is inconsistent with help gates having X, Z, Y. which seams to behave like X = up down (same as CSS), and Y = left right (different). So I have to put X in X, Z in Y and height in Z. EDIT: If you fix it, could you add textbox for gates where the metric values can just be pasted from the coordinate window

I see. Ill habe to make additional runs with that setup

..neither in Performance, nor in visual. Attached sample screenshots of my performance analysis application.

Lol, fail from me. Or I forgot that Thanks

As the title says. By re-using the geographical base of the existing one, this might be a lower hanging fruit Edit: Just with less mordern outfit, it could also more easily fit for Vietnam missions (optically)

In Windows 11 game start takes twice as long
Limaro replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Seamed that both things helped, thanks. -
Not a bug deal. overall performance is compareable. But I observed that, as I am using my own software to make performance measures, and the start of DCS is now significantly longer, after that I switch to Windows 11. But I did also not reinstall the game. But I am not sure if this can cause that.

Now mine is active, and it works well, not great, but well.

Hi @Grippen80, I got my Quest 3 this tuesday not having big expectations. I also have the 6900XT, but with 5800X3D and 64gb ram, which I think should not be the big difference. In a nutshell: Performance is OK, in theory. There are two problems for me: 1. Refresh Rate: There are 72Hz, 80Hz and 90Hz available. with 72 I have sometimes 72, but also often 36. However, even having 72, when moving the head, I get ugly delays of showing, als if FPS drops. Hard to describe. I think it's also due to either PC performance to USB, or just general "link" loss. 2. Connection: As you can only connect via Oculus (cable) Link, the image is not quite as perfect as with DP or HDMI. I have the impression that it's a bit blurry. In the way that it's getting more blurry when using Air Link. But the bigger issues is the stutter on fast movements. Even with FSR and stable72FPS, flying low and looking to ground is very very unpleasant. But with the hint that I do not know whether the connectiontype USB, the computer or the headset is the limiting factor. Conclusion Performance should be OK also on your side. I guess beside of Helicopter and from time to time WW2, I will not use it for DCS. So I will hope for software updates, and do all the other cool things with this device Regards EDIT: I have a Typ C USB port on my video card which I did not consider. I now ordered a typc-typc usb cable to check if performance gets better. will keep you upto date

If you have the space unbd oyur trive, you could play with stable

How does it crash? Just to desktop without message, oder can you chose to "send report"? The second screnshot on very top with the Dcs is not responding just appears on high load and no "answer" to windows, this is not a crash yet normally, you may just have to wait longer.

Hi truebrit, playing after some pause, I would suggest to first: delete fxo and metashader cache from your save games folder. Both in C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta. To verify not having a outdated script cause the issue, rename the "Scripts" folder to something else like "Scripts_Backup". Also attach your last log file to this post, that may help identify the issue.

Hello, just like the title says. I think it could be very useful in situations you cannot or dont want to use the realistic mode and stay in common. With this feature, it would allow to have chitchat with friends in the same group, and do more common communication over the coalition room. Regards

investigating Framerate decreasing up to 16% with 2.8.0
Limaro replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Only one word can describe my feelings: Wow! So this is my newest and last data. Only compared to last tests with multi threaded 2.8.8 and my tracks I use (attached in very first thread) Trackfile Beirut 4_2 : 2.9.0 84.9 FPS (2.8.8 72.1 FPS) Trackfile Beirut 4_3 : 2.9.0 120.0 FPS (2.8.8 100.2 FPS) Unfortunately the 4_3 does not ply until the end, as the F16 crashes now... ich guess something changed in the responsiveness of the inputs, so the flight ends a little earlier.. but the values speak clear language. EDIT: 2.9.0 4_2: 70.5 FPS, no further tests. as in comment after this post, I missed the default settings changes- 31 replies

Limaro replied to Limaro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
These are my two Tracks I use to measure to have a reliable comparison. Described in Initial Post but meanwhile a little far away from this one You can still compare performance, just use a second installed instance of old Version.- 31 replies

Very last Update. 2.8.8 Beirut 4_2 MT: 72.1 FPS Beirut 4_3 MT: 100.2 FPS As you can see no interesting changes. I guess we'll have to accept this loss. I just hope, that we do not get another drop with 2.9.- 31 replies

This would be great. To get a possibility to let DCS read the message (in radio message sound style), with some few voices. This would save a lot of work doing this on external tools and import a audio file. Also when changing text, this would dynamically do the job. Would be nice and easy way to make missions more emersive with less effort.

For a train, it's not possible to add a waypoint action with "set Option" (I hope that's the term in english localization). My goal is, to set the action to not let the train react to threats. But the option is not available. Furthermore, when selecting the "set options" on another unit, it works. But when then switching back to the train, the secondary menu does not even open.

reported Steam train smoke effect only pops in at close distance
Limaro replied to Proper Charlie's topic in General Bugs
Currently the trains make smoke, but only seams to be visible from less than a mile away. For WW2 missions this is very sad, as iin reality trains had the issue to be visible from far away. Pleaaaaase increase it to be like normal smoke. -

New Version, new hope. I've separated ST from MT, for clearer view. Beirut 4_2 ST: 2.7.18 74.9 FPS 2.8.0 65.8 FPS 2.8.1 66.4 FPS 2.8.3 ST 68.0 FPS 2.8.4 ST 65.4 FPS 2.8.6 ST 65.9 FPS 2.8.7 ST 67.4 FPS Beirut 4_2 MT: 2.8.3 MT 73.8 FPS 2.8.4 MT 70.3 FPS 2.8.6 MT 71.2 FPS 2.8.7 MT 71.4 FPS Beirut 4_3 ST: 2.7.18 100.9 FPS 2.8.0 88.1 FPS 2.8.3 ST 92.3 FPS 2.8.4 ST 89.3 FPS 2.8.6 ST 88.6 FPS 2.8.7 ST 90.0 FPS Beirut 4_3 MT: 2.8.3 MT: 103.4 FPS 2.8.4 MT 102.1 FPS 2.8.6 MT 99.9 FPS 2.8.7 MT 104.5 FPS Small Reminder, my 4_3 replay is recorded at good weather in Beirut. There, it seams that we gained some FPS again using MT. But always to remember that I changed CPU meanwhile. But with cloudy day (4_2) it's still a big loss. I'd still whish a nice benchmarking tool for DCS to get easy reproducable performance values.- 31 replies

Hi, I am thinking about buying VR equipment. But not sure yet. Is there a way to run DCS with specific VR settings (2*2160² for Reverb G2 or 2*2880² for Pimax Crystal) without having one? Rendered to some virtual device or anything like that? Regards

It would be great to be able to set names and national flags for ships. Espacially for WW2 it would make sense for identification missions.
