Help on Double beaming a missile
thaFunkster replied to shackman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Can you explain a little more about the 'notch', I am not familiar with exactly what you mean. Personally, I use the split s whenver I get fired at from near max range, I just keep going in the opposite direction until the missile in no longer tracking me, leave the burners on to put a few extra miles between us then turn back around and get straight back into the fight. Usually the moment I turn back around another missile warning goes off instantly, but then I just do the same thing and the enemy slowly deplets their missiles. Unfotunately, they tend to get closer and closer too, and more than once I have had heaters launched on me after doing this tactic two or three times. But it often works. -
Help on Double beaming a missile

As has been mentioned previously, the best method is not to get close to the enemy in the first place. Have a look at Aero's tutorial on performing a Split S in BVR Combat, since seeing this I use this tactic all the time: f6GyX4pkFjY -
Yes YES! ED Listen to us! We want a fast jet study in DCS. My vote is for a Hornet, that would be great and would give us the multirole capability that we want. EtherealN: There are more than two users: USA, Australia, Canada, Spain, Switzerland also I believe. --EDIT: Sorry, you are talking about the Super Hornet, my mistake. Why not just give us an F/A18c?

Hmm, I think they are slightly better in some respects. But there is no great noticeable difference from what I can tell.

Ah, ok, that makes some more sense, I thought there was no way to get a Lock On chopper to look like that. That being said, I lay down a challenge for you Shaggy my freind if you are up for it: Make a pic of similar quality using a Lock On Screenshot of a helicopter. I would like to see what you can come up with.

I have to say that that is an interesting way to do it. I normally slow time to 50% and record and 30fps, this means there are still occasional lag spikes where the finished video still drops below 30fps. But recording at 10fps and 1/4 speed is a really good idea, it means the file wont be too big, as its only 10 rather than 30 fps...Hell, one Lock On movie I made had a 70GB folder from all the FRAPS AVI files. Also, regarding the sound, you can speed it up in Sony Vegas for those who use it, so it will match the footage rather than having to do a second take.

Win7 gets my vote, that is if you have it.

Sigh, wish I had a trackIR, I have been playing Lock On without it for quite a while now, and disorientation during dogfights remains a problem. The biggest problem I have though is just plain not being able to see the enemy, even when not zoomed out. I dont think TrackIR would help a lot here, and this is one aspect where I think real life would be easier and ED might not have modelled the best solution.

Looks pretty nice Mustang. I like the rivets.

When will this be released? WHEN? I am anxious to see it now.

What? But I thought we were talking about the F15? -

kingneptune117, where did you get that cockpit from? Its not easy radar mode is it? -
Many of you know me from various Lock On Videos. Well, I have been working on something in Arma II for quite a while, and I wanted to share it with you all. Might be a nice break to keep your feet on the ground for a few minutes! :) I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting a non-Lock On movie (there are planes in it, lol), if so, moderators please close the thread down, but if not, then here it is: xklP-yNuU84

In betweent he YouTube tags, you just put the video ID, that is, the part of the link that comes AFTER "v=", so it should just be something like "vCBNmt" about that long.

Easy, get a YouTube Account and upload it. Get the link (Eg www.youtube.com/v=blahblahblah) take out the last bit (blahblahblah) and do this: Or you can find a post where someone has posted a video, hit "quote" and it will show you what code they used in order to get the video up there.

Hey Ange, when you start with FC2.0 I would be interested to hear about your impressions of video making in the new version. I have not yet made any videos, as too many of the controls have changed from FC1.12

Very very cool. I liked seeing combat in your video as well as the fast paced music. I was transported to a different place much like a dreamworld. Thanks.

You now need video editing software. You can download the Windows Live Movie Maker program for free and its quite good. Fork out the cash for a proper program if you start getting serious though,

Damn! Looking forward to seeing the full movie. This looks like the best LO film ever!

Okok, hello, many of you may remember me from previous Lock On videos. Well, something different now. First up, here is my favourite screenshot: There, now it's lock On relevant. Now, here is a trailer for the new movie I am making: (Sound needs to be up loud). 1z52zGbIrtY

Totally right, and most people wont give it much more than a moments thought - they are not likely to analyse whether what they heard matched real life, it's just the impression you leave them with that they will take with them.
