I've noticed that the width of the Hermes is abit off ! Is there any chance of this being corrected in the future so that the deck is wider ? Thanks

Thought i'd recreate an iconinc Hermes photo as i love this module so much ! Sadly we don't have Sea Kings to place but i think it is very very close :)

Have been testing various options and settings with SC and there appears to be a massive performance hit the moment Shadows are set above Flat, however , the effect on resources and system is the same whether you choose low medium or high . There appears to be no inbetween setting resource wise and all settings drain the same performance . With shadows on low-medium or high , fps on deck is between 20-32 fluctuating constantly . The moment aircraft is airborne , fps hits a 90 and drops as low as 45 when looking inside cockpit. With shadoes on flat (and even raising textures or other settings to try and make a performance impact) , on deck fps is steady at 45 and again in air 90 with a drop to 45 when looking around cockpit. At night though , the SC island lights on deck don't cast shadows on crew like day time does however performance is same . Shadow setting only appears to affect SC performance .

In a group with F-16's and/or F-18 , the Jf's can communicate between eachother but they cannot receive or transmit to the F-16s/18s in the same group. Similar , F-16 can see eachother and transmit/receive but are unable to see the Jfs. Is this a bug or a missing feature ? If there is a matter of correct setup , could you please give me some instructions as to how to setup the group so that other planes can work with the jf in the same datalink group ? Thanks

Hi everyone , Is there a way when running a dedicated server to change mission in-game without having to access the webGUI ? Maybe possible to write something in the chatbox as a command of the game the mission change? Thanks

Hi , The TDC curson appears to have gotten really slow in VR ! It was slow already but its movement now is half in VR of the speed when playing on screen . By the time it actually arrives at a target you are trying to lock up everyting has moved . Is this a bug on VR? This is not an issue when not playing in VR Thank you

This is exactly what i was going to ask ! The HMD Mask works great for me and i dont notice it but i feel the atmospheric feeling has suffered alot . Things that made the look more immersive like the capopy shading , scratches etc are gone and at night it all looks bad ... -

This is a mission editor problem ..... I recreated missions and the options are no longer available in spawning . Any mission setup before the update that had a plane setup on a specific catapult as a cold start now is broken . In the spawning options the ability to choose a catapult under "Takeoff from ramp" and "Takeoff from parking hot" has been removed . You always spawn in the middle of the carrier no matter what . This means all old missions are now broken ... I hope this is an oversight or bug , removing the ability to choose catapult cause the fact that you have to spawn in the center now is restricint and annoying .... I hope for some fix to this please ! -

I opened a thread about this issue and was told they could not recreate the problem despite providing a track and video . Mission editor since update does not allow to place an aircraft at a catapult of choosing from modes "Takeoff from ramp" or "takeoff from parking hot" . Only allows to choose catapult when selecting "Takeoff from Runway"... 9 out of 10 missions i have rely on spawning cold on a catapult other than the center of the carrier ... This is annoying .. old missions don't work , new ones can't be remade as the option is no longer there. -

Im remaking a mission i had made before the update to see if the problem exists however i have already noticed than you cannot place in the mission editor a plane on a catapult when choosing takeoff from ramp. Previously , you could choose on which catapult the plane would spawn cold , now this option is not available for anything other than the "takeoff from runway" option ... -

I have seen a slight drop in performance but nothing too drastic . I found the hardest issue to deal with is how long it takes to actually login to the game now . It seems to take almost a minute just to get pass the first loading screen . Lighting has also caused some issues in the F14 where you can not distinguish the main screen azymyth anymore at night as both lines and screen hue are the same bright red .. No way to tell what is going on in night flights . Finally , something i have also posted is catapult issue on carrier . If you attempt to hook up manually the catapult tosses the aircraft of deck instead of hooking up ... More people have mentioned the same , and it appears to always be on cat 4 ...

When attemptin to hook up with the carrier catapult , the system instead of attaching the aircraft to the catapult , even if you are abit off , it now literally catapults the plane of the deck upwards like being hit with a sledgehammer . This only happens when you try to attach yourself . When starting ready and hot and already attached there is no issue however the shaking appears to be increased on launch and makes it feel ridiculus . Have tried to far with F18 and F14 with same result . Everytime i press to attach to catapult it fires me through the air and crashes .

So , first issue as the carrier launch system seems to be broken when doing a cold start and trying to hook up to the catapult . The moment you press to hook up ... it launches you ....LITERALLY and you end up flying through the air ! It works if you are already hooked up when the mission starts , even though launching afterwards shakes the planes so much it is abit ridiculous .. It is liked they have over-excited the launch mechanism. Also there is no vibration in hand controllers any more when interacting with buttons in cockpit . Pressing a button used to create a vibration so you knew it was doing something .

Hi , i've noticed a problem with clicking the lower nose hook for hooking up to the catapult switch with the Oculus VR controllers. When clicking , flicking or hand gesturing the switch to change with VR controller it does not change mode . It clicks for a milisecond and then just autoflips back to the setting it was on . If i disable the VR controller and use the mouse however it switched without issue between on and off. VR controllers seem to double press it and there for you can never get it to change posistion.

Hi , is there a way to add a positional sound element? Through a trigger I would like a sound to play that can be heard from the aircraft pilot while he is on the ground with the canopy open , but i want the sound to eminate from a specific point or direction . This way when the pilot turns his head the sound appears to come from a specific direction instead of the omni Stereo that can be provided by the (Play sound) trigger . Just like when a jet takes off and you hear and track the roar of the engine as it take's off pass you , that is a positional sound from the jet . Can I add my own positional sound somehow ? Thanks

Hmmm. im starting to think this might have something to do with the standalone vs Steam. So far those who I have generally spoken with and said they experience minor issues are Steam Users . Will keep testing different methods. Thanks man

Yes I would say that is an understatement . I can't read 90% of the cockpit no matter what settings i try , there is no clarity . I was considering upgrading GPU but seeing that GunsliggerAus stated he has a monster of a machine and still gets performance issues i would say , there is basically no hope . On the other hand this i fear is very unfair to the prospect buyer . I watched a sh#it load of videos before buying and NONE mentioed such extreme performance issues . I was between the F-18 and the F-14 and went with the "Which aircraft do i reall want" as almost every review i saw stated that the F-14 was mostly equal in performance with the F-18 Module . It is NOT . I'm currently of two minds to challenge DCS's no refund policy on this because there is no warning that VR versions of this modules are basically unplayable .

Hi , thanks for the info. I'll make the change in the BIOS and I was planning on a RAM upgrade anyway so it wil make sense . It's just weird how it only affects the F14 and not the AV88 appears to have more surfaces yet does not have the fps prob. Hope these will do the trick , from the little i managed to play , I absolutely love it .
