  1. One thing that's a problem with most of the missions is that the CAS aircraft are all routed to a small target area (usually about 25km wide), with all of the fighters aimed right at the same area. Would be nice now that the servers are getting better is for there to be a lot longer FLOT (100-200km) with the CAS planes assigned to different points along that FLOT. Fighters should also be given a more specific zone for their CAP. This of course would require quite a bit more coordination than you usually find in mp though. Should make life a little easier for the CAS guys, there's a better chance that the CAP will be far off from where they are at--maybe 1 in 3 sorties they would get jumped (just a guess here).
  2. Look at the "Black Shark Update" thread up in the stickies.
  3. To the issue of performance for low-end system owners: It is YOUR server, YOUR rules, and as long as people are there that can enjoy it set it up however you like. I personally have a low-end system and I can fully understand that owners of decent systems want to get their money's worth and play the sim to its fullest. If I was fortunate enough to have a high-end system I would definitely want to crank the graphics up and jump into a fully-loaded mission with hundreds of targets and lots of activity!! I would shudder to jump into servers with scenes set to medium or *gasp!* low!! So in conclusion: CRANK IT UP 169th!!
  4. Not, not even close. Look at the Black Shark update thread in the stickies.
  5. More reliable than checking the distance to the waypoints would be to check the assigned course--this will NOT change. Keep in mind that the real Su-25 can only hold up to 4 waypoints (I believe I heard that somewhere) so a good mission designer will keep it simple. Alternately, you can cycle through nav modes until you get back to the route mode, then it will automatically go to waypoint one. Then just count them out from there.
  6. I`m very interested in the HOTAS you have there . . . could be the Eastern equivalent of the Cougar if done right. Would work well for the full stable of Russian flyables!!
  7. Sooooooo, within 4 months then . . . :D
  8. I totally agree!!
  9. +10000000000!!!! Jaguar is required (by international law, I think--so no fooling around ED)!!
  10. Ok Fudd, you're killing us here!! I HAVE to know what it says under the red blur now . . . lol
  11. For some reason it makes the vehicles blink and thus they catch your eye. Turning AF off would make textures viewed at an angle blurry, turning off AA will cause the edges of objects to have "jaggies". If I turn off AA, I usually compensate by increasing the resolution which can also help reduce jaggies.
  12. Turn off AA, that helps for me. Also, at one point I had a problem with my video card where I couldn't see vehicles very far. Swapped the card out with my wife's identical card and it fixed the problem!! You should be able to spot vehicles at about 18km or so visual.
  13. Wow, really original and constructive post . . . Glad you were here to let us all know this, the game might have NEVER been worked on without you!! :megalol:
  14. So would this new terrain be called ATM--Advanced Terrain Model? So we got: AFM WAFM AAM (Advanced Avionics Model--clickable pit) AME (Advanced Mission Editor) ATM And soon to be released: ADC (Advanced Dynamic Campaign) :megalol:
  15. I have mine mapped to the cursor arrows. By default, they are flight controls but I would assume almost everyone here uses a joystick . . . They are very easy to find in the heat of battle, very hard to miss!!
  16. OMG!! I WANTS ONE!!!1!!1!1!! 6DOF for the A-10 = teh secks!!
  17. No way!! Flowers FTW!!!1!!!1!!!
  18. Great work!! I forsee great things for this pack in the future . . .
  19. Me too!! My band: http://myspace.com/americanskinband I also play: FSX Oblivion F4:AF
  20. Make the plunge and buy Flaming Cliffs and patch to 1.12a, you are missing out on A LOT!!
  21. Would be nice for each person who creates these objects to work together to to have ongoing Object Packs. This will help down the road for compatibility reasons. Mission builders could put a note in their briefings or readme that says: (requires Object Pack 1 and 2, for example). This would help a lot for MP especially . . . Would be nice if ED included a column for objects in the scoreboard too . . .
  22. We need to install some hacks in Lock-on that limit you to 4 g's online then . . . :D Hey, it's all in the name of realism right?
  23. Finally some non-groundvehicle screens!! Looks good ED . . .
  24. Early 80's era =
