Hi I am wondering two things and hoping someone may have an answer: 1) What does the Ka-50 actually do when it turns in response to a turn on target command whilst in auto-hover? Does it use the cyclic or the rudder or both? 2) How do I manually turn during auto-hover? I have tried by using the cyclic (joystick left or right) but I end up banking too hard very quickly, gaining speed and threatening loss of hover. I have used the rudder, too, which is much more effective but a rudder-initiated turn is only temporary and release of the pedals sends the chopper back to its original, pre-turn position. Any advice would be great. Thanks Triangle

How exactly do you deactivate?

Have you messed around with the resolution settings in your options.lua and accidentally changed the avi settings (I am assuming those are for the vid playback but pls correct me if I am wrong)?
-
Yep, happened to me last night and I was all confussled until i realised my cannon was still selected ... doh.
-
Excellent advice. That's exactly how I have learnt and it has worked very well so far :-)
-
Sounds like a plan :-) I will acquire a 2nd copy in the next week and have a go at setting it up. Thank you to everyone who responded ... these forums are helpful +1.

Yep, quick start .. I don't have enuff time to be manually starting up.

TIR5 which has the highest resolution and 6 degrees of freedom plus i strongly advise the TrackClip Pro (it hooks onto your headphones and is much more accurate than the standard clip - plus you are less likely to answer the door wearing it). You won't regret it - takes a couple of hours and it feels completely natural.
-
My g/f laughs every time use my TIR but I have ben using it for years and I couldn't care .. once I answered the door forgetting I had a cap and trackclip on and, still, I am stoically committed to my TIR :-) The TIR makes a whole world of difference ... eventually you forget it is there and just look around naturally and you only notice when you *can't* use it in a game, not when you can.

You should be at 0 knots. Just practice. If you fail to reach 0 knots in hover you can just move the cyclic gently (up or down) to achieve 0 knots and re-trim. The hover funtion uses the trim info and will stabilise. Just keep trying. All four AP buttons (the block of four) should be on in auto-hover but not FD. Once you have uncaged the Shkval using 'o' you can hit the backspace to return to the normal navigation mode on your HUD at any time.

I just built a new gaming machine for here at home (a second one - same as my sig except a GTX285 and only one monitor) for LAN play with friends etc and it just occured to me that with a second copy of BS I might just be able to run a dedicated server most of the time with it while I am at work etc. What sort of upstream bandwidth would I need (I get 384kbps up and 7616kbps down)? Feasible? Useful? Ty Triangle

If you are running with the new trimmer implementation you must re-centre your stick and pedals (if you have them) before you can regain control of the cyclic and rudder. Re-centre immediately after trim.

190.62 nvidia driver out...
Triangle99 replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Always do. I can't be sure the problem was related to the 190.62s but it was easier just to revert to drivers I knew had no problems and that offered the same performance etc. -
190.62 nvidia driver out...
Triangle99 replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes, it had no impact on FPS but I did experience some CTDs and had never had one before on the 190.38 drivers so reverted and all is well in helicopter land. -
how do I enable the Framerate counter in BS?
Triangle99 replied to DanKurt's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It shows up in very small font in the top left corner of your screen ... that's about all I can tell you. -
how do I enable the Framerate counter in BS?
Triangle99 replied to DanKurt's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Check your key bindings in the controls listing - under Framerate in the list. -
Shadow problem from LOMAC cropping up.
Triangle99 replied to tn_prvteye's topic in Bugs and Problems
Pretty sure I have it, mildly, post1.01 install. -
Great mod - almost no noticeable impact on my FPS and looks great .. ty. +1

LOL ... I am inclined to believe it is not ... :-)

To show the pilot's body in-game, press RShift - P .... just found it ... thanks guys, I was wondering why it wasn't showing :-)

Perhaps a silly question but am wondering why I never see a representation of myself sitting in the cockpit when i look down towards the pedals etc (I see this in most BS vids etc)? I am still learning, playing downloaded tutorial missions and flying practice missions I have made myself in case this is relevant. Ty in advance Triangle :-)

I think I flew about 100hrs of Falcon4 before I was man enough to fly multi but I was glad I did ... with voice comms, there was nothing I had ever experienced like flying online missions with a live wingmen. BS is proving much harder to learn, tho, so multi is but a distant dream ;-) One day ....

Anyway to see if AA and AF is enabled?
Triangle99 replied to Kirai's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
AA is not on in these pics (the rotor blades do not appear anti-aliased at all) - read this thread (the last page) for how to sort this out ... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=43585 This bit - sorry, was too lazy to post it but reconsidered :-) Another user posted this fix that worked good for me to correct the AA +AF problem. Open Nvidia control pannel: go to the option for Adjust image settings with preview and toggle it between Let the App decide and Use advance settings, make sure you hit apply. then your AA and AF will work again...do this even if you already have the use advance dettings checked. Until you do no setting for AA or AF in the DCS profile will work not even in global(for me anyways) -
Can not enable AA, AF or V-sync for my GTX 295
Triangle99 replied to jermin's topic in Bugs and Problems
And that worked perfectly - thank you :-)
