Thanks for the pint Coolts :) FYI, the old Flanker 2.0 music is also still in there. Go to your Lockon/Sounds/Music folder, and make a backup of Main.ogg. Now copy MusicIntro.ogg over the original Main.ogg, and you're done :)

Did you install everything with administrator priviliges? (right click on the .exe file --> run as administrator) If you didn't, chances are that not all files were installed due to limited permissions for standard user accounts. I have installed on two PCs now - one for testing and developing, and one for flying, and haven't had any problems with it. Both systems are running Win7 x64 Ultimate.

You guys should go to the LLTM :)

TCR 2010: Race started tonite
Joe Kurr replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I think most participants will wait until the last day before they submit their tracks, to get the maximum out of their flying time. I myself haven't had time yet to start practicing, I hope to be able to fly this evening. -
Last weekend I had the opportunity to take some nightly pictures at the Aviodrome museum at Lelystad Airport. Aviodrome aviation museum at night: #1. The museum entrance, with a Fokker F-50 prototype and a Hawker Hunter #2. Saab J-37 Viggen #3. Saab J-37 Viggen #4. Neptune #5. C-54, formerly used by the Dutch government #6. S-2 Tracker painted in KLM colours by students of the Amsterdam Airport Technical School, its previous owner #7, #8. They actually started the engines and folded the wings several times #9. A Fokker F-27 Friendship in the colours of NLM (Nederlandse Luchtvaart Maatschappij = Dutch Arline Company, a KLM division) #10. An S-2 Tracker in its original Royal Dutch Navy colourscheme #11. Overwing view of a Southcoast Airways DC-3 #12. The largest aircraft in the museum: Boeing 747-400 'PH-BUK' #13. The 747 will double as Christmas tree for the coming weeks, and will be visible from several kilometers away

TCR 2010 Qualifivation results
Joe Kurr replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks for the info, I'll use that to time my flights for the race instead of my seperate stopwatch. Please note that I didn't ask this question to start a debate on correct times, I was just wondering where the difference came from. -
TCR 2010 Qualifivation results
Joe Kurr replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Can't wait for the race! By the way, I noticed a large difference between my time on the site, and my own recorded time. How did you record these times? I used an external stopwatch, but it seems way off... (it could be running too slow, making me think I was faster than I actually was) -
Deactivate/Re-install on another OS/HDD
Joe Kurr replied to dnnzed's topic in Payment and Activation
I'm facing a similar issue. For testing purposes I have created a dualboot: XP SP2 32bit / Win7 Ultimate 64bit. For my Win7 install I already did a clean reinstall of Lockon, (I now have four LOFC installs on one machine), but I'm reluctant to do the same with DCS. Can I for example boot in Win7, run DCS, reboot to XP, run DCS again, and not loose (de)activations? IIRC changing OS is 3 points of a maximum of 13 needed to loose an activation. What I'd like to know is if this is cumulative, so XP --> Win7 = 3 points, what will the 'score' be when I switch back to XP? Still 3, or 6? -
TCR 2010: less than 30 hrs to qualify
Joe Kurr replied to golfsierra2's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
To overcome the mod problem (installed most mods by hand), I used a clean install of LOFC. I now have four installs side-by-side on one PC: - one clean install for TCR2010 - one heavily modded install for everyday-flying and demos at flightsim events - one for the Lowland Tiger Meet with only the LomacLeague mod installed - one for testing with Windows 7 Using the supplied lockon.bat files, I can easily choose between all those installs with no problems at all. -
Last week-end, some 350 flightsim enthousiasts assembled in the AvioDrome museum at Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands for this year's International Flight Simulator Weekend. It turned out to be a big success, with close to 3000 visitors over two days. As many people (even fellow flightsimmers) think MS Flightsimulator when they see someone playing a flight sim, we had to explain countless times that LoFC is not a different scenery to MSFS. Over the week-end, we did four 4-ship formation flights, which had the expected effect of blocking the entrance to the exposition hall with a mob of spectators :) When we were not doing formation flights, we mostly had two systems running Black Shark, and two systems on LoFC, and gave visitors te opportunity to try both sims out. Both our cockpits, running mostly LoFC, were fitted with the new Logitech G940 HOTAS. LigerZero also did his "Living mannequin" gimmick, scaring the hell out of several visitors by jumping up and shaking hands with them :) Below are some pictures I made during the week-end. Due to the number of people visiting and asking questions, I didn't have time to walk around, so I mostly took pictures of our own stand. Wasserfalls employer gave us a nice present: a brand-new decor for our stand :) Wasserfall tries a ramp-start with the Ka-50 without a checklist Lightsniper explains Black Shark to a visitor Wasserfall gave his Su-27 instrument panel another update An overview of our surroundings, with the Dutch Flight Network in the lower left corner, the VRNLAF (Virtual Royal Netherlands Air Force) in the lower right, and the Dutch Flanker Display Team (that's us) in the middle near the F-104 Our mascot 'Poekie' (pronounced as Pooky) has become a familiar sight at all events we visit Visitors try out the Su-27 under the watchfull eye of instructors Lightsniper and LigerZero Way too soon it was time to pack up and head home again.

You can override lua functions with new ones. If you do something like this at the end of export.lua, both the original and the new function will be called in sequence: -- Save the original function in a variable for later use oldExportAfterNextFrame = LuaExportAfterNextFrame -- Define a new export function -- This one has to have the exact same name and parameters as the original function LuaExportAfterNextFrame() oldExportAfterNextFrame() -- execute original function -- Put your code here end I don't know if the syntax is exactly right (my flightsim PC is still packed up from the Flightsim Weekend), but this should be the way to do it. This can also be done in separate files, as long as you include them at the end of export.lua (with the dofile() function)

I'm flying the Su-27, and it's perfectly possible. My average speed on that flight was roughly 1009km/h. I'm not saying how I did it yet, but will post a video of one of my attempts next week.

That's exactly what we did during the 2007 Lowland Tiger Meet. Take off from Sukhumi, perform a touch and go on all airfields, and land at Saki. Route and fuel load was free, aircraft type was the same for all participants: MiG-29A. All 20 participants were in the same mission, flying over a local network. The start of the mission went from impressive to complete chaos in mere seconds :) The impressive bit was the line-up of 20 human-piloted MiG-29s, all on the same platform. The chaos started when the engines were spooled up and everyone tried to be the first to take off, using the runway in both directions at one time. Unfortunately I didn't record a track of it, should have made a nice movie...

Did a clean LO:FC install to eliminate any mods, practiced a little more, and went even faster! :D Took another eight seconds off my previous fastest time, but there still is room for improvement.
-
Hmm... I'm beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with my install, given the huge time difference between my times and the ones posted here... @thaFunkster: I believe the main race will be a rerun of the original race, so take-off at Khersones, touch-and-goes on all other airfields, and land at Kerch-Bagerovo. My estimate is that this flight will take about an hour.

The briefing says that a valid touch and go is one where you can hear the sound of the tires touch the runway. So that makes a two-wheeled touch and go a valid one, as you hear the sound when the main tires hit the runway.
-
Would be a shame if I was ;)
-
I think the fastest Su-27 time will be below 3:30. I'm already down to 3:34 at the moment, and there is still room for improvement. Will try again this evening.

First timed attempt with the Su-27: 3:51.244 :)

windows seven starforce dvd fix?
Joe Kurr replied to Skkuda's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I gathered the information from several posts on this forum, and put together a small tutorial for installing LOFC on Win7. You can find the tutorial here Hope it helps :) -
Cool idea! I'm already polishing my Su-27 for optimum performance :) @czarnyolek: Didn't you know that the second runway will be the A-50's radar dish? :D

3GO New Flanker Model V1.5 Released!
Joe Kurr replied to SkieRider's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
When I find the time to add the download section to the site ;) Currently I'm doing too many things at once, like getting my G940 to work, testing some electronics for our cockpit project (no, it isn't dead, it's just sleeping :)), building a new subscription system for the Lowland Tiger Meet, and doing some programming for my boss in between... I hope to have some more time later this week to do some work on our website again. -
Morg, you beat me to it :) I was also thinking about writing a program to control the leds on the G940 from lockon, and was just about to (try to) translate the sample program from the SDK to C#. What programming language did you use? I think option 3, with numeric values should be the easiest to implement.
