  1. This is different topic than I am talking about. You may want to open a new thread for clarity. Auto Acquisition mode (AACQ) doesn't work. I can map TDC and sensor switch just fine
  2. Make sure TDC is assigned to right MDI (sensor select right - diamond in top right corner)
  3. Played with this a bit more, AACQ doesn't work for me at all. 1. Sensor right when TDC has no target 2. Nothing happens - targets are visible to the radar. 3. Press TDC - yeah it does grab a target now, no matter where TDC cursor is and regardless to whether AACQ is on or of.. Confused..
  4. Sensor switch right when TDC is on top of the target is supposed to lock the target - doesn't seem to work for me.
  5. As per manual (p. 112) moving TDC to boundary control zones on radar MDI is supposed to display mode options etc. I can't seem to make it work, moving TDC to display boundary does nothing.
  6. MDI -> DATA > -TCN
  7. Awesome! p.s. Thinking of it, I think it's good that it's early access plane - it's not much more complex than FC3 planes atm (as long as one doesn't attempt CASE1 or refuel) and it makes it easier to learn and fly.
  8. Congratulations! It's also in top 10 best sellers atm. I'd not normally post this sort of thing, but this is giving me hope - bring back sim golden years please (DCS never left ;) )!
  9. Thanks for this video, she's awesome!
  10. A real pilot says on the internet that the Betty "isn't original, but pretty close". I'd not dare to argue with that. The simplest explanation is that Betty is classified. p.s. I am real Betty and I'll make a video about it. :pilotfly:
  11. Boeing handing out wrong Betty remains unresolved tho. Perhaps she is classified.
  12. Umm, this is somewhat interesting thread.. I hope we won't get a flight model changed based on one video.
  13. Yes it's an axis, it does work like real Spitfire minus the lock. I won't mod this stick. The optimal solution would be to add "brakes toggle" control. I can simulate this using a script which keeps "W" key pressed.. bit rough but works. The reason I am asking is that you need 3 hands to startup the Spitfire without brakes lock :) Thanks all for suggestions.
  14. I have a lever on the stick which I mapped wheel brakes to. Works great - now in real Spitfire this level can be blocked in parking position, with brakes applied fully. This is very useful for startup too. Can't seem to be able to do it in DCS Spitfire - the lever on the stick doesn't have any physical lock, unfortunately. An ideas, except remapping it to a slider or something equally "unrealistic"?
  15. Well, mileages may vary. Just to be clear, I highly recommend Virpil sticks (and hopefully will be the same deal with throttle). My T-50 is irreplaceable. BTW, I have pretty much identical setup to yours, really happy with it
  16. Re Virpil Throttle vs warthog. I'd not go as far and say that it's not suitable for western aircraft. The only button it's lacking is an analog slew control, (in context of A-10 and other aircraft you would use to slew target box around - you can do it with any 4-way hat button - analog control is not as "necessary" as people make it. It's probably more important for space sims. On the other hand both VKB and Virpil are very unreliable and slow when it comes to orders fulfilment and they aren't necessarily fast when it comes to customer service (excluding PR on the social media where one is better than another) as as you noticed Virpil throttle is not available and has no reliable released date - they have pushed their "preorders" two weeks forward already, doesn't inspire much confidence. I'd wait until they actually release and people review it. Having said that I own Virpil T-50 and Warthog and difference in gimbals is day and night. Grip, it's a matter of personal preference. If you get your Warthog check if the gimbal is sticky. p.s. on a side note Virpil setup is almost twice the price of Warthog.
  17. The increase of resistance towards the extremes is not determined by strength of the string with type of gimbal T-50 has - it depends on cam profile.
  18. No curves or dead-zones here. No need.
  19. Will do and get back to you via PM.
  20. Question regarding micropause. It sort of works but I don't think it does. Here is what happens. "Two, break left" - this is "recognized" as "to break left" very often and not interpreted/executed by the plugin at all. "Two, <pause as suggested> break left" - recognized as "two", followed by "break left" which defaults to "two" being ignored and the rest interpreted as "flight, break left" by the plugin. I'd say 90/100 times it's recognized like that. You can see this in the F-5 video here At about 17:30 he says"four, engage..." which is interpreted as "flight, engage.." followed by all aircrafts responding to the command. I am pretty sure that "four" has been recognized as a separate command and ignored. Another example: (same deal "two" is ignored, the command is issued to all aircrafts in the flight) This can be a bit disastrous.
  21. Installed soft spring just out of curiosity and I like them better (same as before 7.5 cm extension). - stick requires much less force to move around and it's very smooth. I don't tense up at all when I play, so that allows me to move the stick just with my fingers. it's a very personal preference, so I'd recommend trying them both. I'll try to install no center cam next, but couldn't be arsed to find my soldering iron and fiddle with thread-locked cams this time round :)
  22. That's pretty standard - when I ordered mine they took the money immediately then long wait with zero or ambiguous updates after sending a ticket. It shipped about 2 weeks later. They have really good product, but they need to work on fulfillment time/customer service, they don't seem to get it yet. It's not easy too, so I'd give them some slack. Back on topic, I use mine with 7.5 com extension, and default springs/cams, springs set to about medium stiffness. I may try soft springs, but just out of curiosity and only when I am bored, I don't like to tweak things. Works great with this setup.
  23. Brilliant plane, thanks!
  24. That knurl looks like a cheap sticker. Is it possible to remove it? I have the throttle pre-ordered, but this is first time I see this version with knurl - sorry, not a fan of it
  25. Would be great if you could ship orders made a month ago - maybe behind the scenes, just saying ;) Nice factory, btw.
