  3. Second question :) Which missile's control surfaces produces more drag in general and when maneuvering the missile while en route to the target. The 120 uses 8 fins but the 77 has 4 of those lattice shaped fins.

  6. I have FS9 too and I spend a lot of time trying to reproduce the weather patterns I see as well.. here's my efforts to reproduce the the photoshoped image you posted. I can get quite close, not perfect, but you must stay below 1000m otherwise the sky will start looking a little too blue if you look up.
  7. Walmis's install should have realigned them for you.. hmm odd but no big deal. Here's the correct X, Y and Z values for the pylons.   8. :thumbup: Looks like your weapons are out of alignment as well.... Although I purposely misalign stations 4,5,7and 8 so the missiles are directly behind each other, maybe you've done the same thing as me?
  9. If anyones interested then here's the X, y values that I'm using. Open the meinit.xml file in note or word pad (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\ME) and then click Edit at the top then "Find" from the drop down menu and search for F-15C. After clicking "Find" scroll down a bit passed the <Payload, <ColorSchemes> and <Tasks> entries for the F-15C until you reach the <Pylon Number="X" entries. Change the X and Y values for; <Pylon Number="2", <Pylon Number="6" and <Pylon Number="10" to the same values that I have below, save and exit. Remember to back up your meinit.xml file before you start. <Pylon Number="2" Type="0" X="0.365" Y="-0.190" Z="-2.71"> <Pylon Number="6" Type="0" X="0.365" Y="-0.942" Z="0"> <Pylon Number="10" Type="0" X="0.365" Y="-0.190" Z="2.719"> Hopefully these positions will work for others as well.
  10. I had the same problem but fixed it myself by adjusting the tanks positions in the meinit.xml file. I only have a slight tweak left and when I'm done I'll post my numbers and you can see if they work for you too.

Just a quick note regarding Merlin555's new HR textures:http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=265851#post265851 The files are quite big, 14.9mb, and I was having problems with hanging in game. This was just a bit irritating when at about 25 to 30kms when you could just see the eagle the game would freeze for a few seconds while the textures loaded. Anyway I went back to his original textures which look just as good but combined are only 968kb and if you install them as a CDDS file that drops to 214kb. This produces butter smooth play with out any hanging what so ever.   13. Its probably worse than that :smilewink: but those stats aren't really applicable to LO seeing as they never carried the R77.. I could be wrong but I think their best (longest range) weapon was the R-27R and how many times did they even fire them. I think the Mig's success has more to do with the R-77 rather the than Mig itself. At least the stats show ARH hitting more than any other missile except of course the R-27ET and the ET stands for Extra Terrestrial. That missile is really patch specific though, I remember when the ET wouldn't an Awacs even if fired at point blank range with the sun behind you .. hopefully BS will clear up the ET phenomena and bring its stats back down to Earth.
  14. I just launched Modman and it has all of the mods listed as Uninstalled. All I've done today is to tweak a few setting in the graphics.cfg but that's it. Then the next time I ran Modman all of the mods were listed as Red. :huh: Is there a way of getting this back? If not then how do I uninstall the mods? Or am I going to have to do it manually :( .? Thanks for any help.
  15. You will have to use one of the slots already available for the Mig29. To get your new Paint scheme in lockon you'll have to rename the .bmp files to the texture names for one of the default Mig29 skins, then just place the skin into the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\TempTextures folder. Alternatively and for better FPS after you've renamed your new .bmp files to a set of default texture names then you can install them into lockon as a CDDS file. How to do this is in my CDDS tutorial; link is in my Signature. Here's some of the texture file names you can use for the Russian Mig29.   17. Trying to get other players online not to use exploits, like ECM fibrillation, or flying an atoms width off the deck is pretty much impossible and its the same across all online games. I remember once seeing a guy in Americas Army jump off a cliff, land on the tip of a tree where he went prone, he then extended the bipod for his weapon and started sniping.. LOL people will do anything to win. The only way around it is to have a more mission based online experience where one side can actually win, similar to IL2. That way if someone wants to spam their 120's/ ET's or fly low, well just let them because while they are pratting around wasting their supplies or formation flying with the weeds, the other team trying to achieve the OBJ will win.

  19. Exactly like Poopskadoop, has explained. I'll add a few things; first don't see the evasion as a violent maneuver, substitute the word violent for controlled because if you yank and bank too hard you'll loose too much air speed which could give you problems depending on how close you're to merging. Also keep and eye on your HUD, HDD and RWR all at the same time while still trying to get a visual on the bandit. On the HUD you must monitor the Radar symbol after you've fired an SARH missile, once the RADAR symbol has gone for more than a few seconds you can bet your missile has stopped tracking and wont reacquire the target because its out side of its FOV. I have a feeling its this that has you on the back foot because once you loose lock your enemy will know that he has defeated your missile and you can expect him to turn back into you and your RWR will start to warn you of yet another missile coming your way. The HDD will tell you his direction of flight which will indicate when you're most likely to loose lock so you can turn to an angle that will make it difficult for him to notch your radar. Lastly practice your BVR routine until it becomes almost like a reflex.
  20. I have to say I completely agree with you. I understand that some are only interested in flying one aircraft and that's fine, what ever melts your butter, but sometimes I'll just get a taste for say the Su25 and fly nothing else for a week.. I do spend most of my time in the Su33 but all the other aircraft get a good seeing to :chair: , even the German Mig. :smilewink:
  21. My XP Looks better than Vista right now and I have absolutely no interested in handing over control of my PC to anyone but me. I hope Vista turns out to be the new ME ;) .
  22. How could I forget the Mig29K :doh: hehe well if we had all three Su33, Mig29K and the Hornet I would never see land in Lockon. ;) . That has to be the Eagle. It flies so smooth and between the VSD and TEWS it gives you close to data link SA on the situation, sometimes better because of the ground threats displayed. Also the F15 being a true force multiplier you can use a set of tactics for each mission that the Russians fighter just don't allow you to.
  23. 70 percent Su33.. and the other 30 percent everything else(F15,Mig,Su25 etc..) if we had an F18 then it would be 35% Su33 and 35% F18 .. If it lands on a ship I'm interested. :pilotfly:
  24. 1. A four ship Ka50 group take off in to the hover a few feet of the ground then a short hover taxi then take off. 2. A close up of the Ka50 ejection sequence. 3. A Rocket or missile A2A or A2G attack with any aircraft from inside the cockpit while zoomed out completely (all the way back in the seat). I just want to see if the toilet roll effect is still an issue in BS. 4. More footage of the ricochet effect. Good luck and I look forward to seeing it even if you don't have time to implement my suggestions. :thumbup:
  25. I don't get it either but at least the problem is just on my end and it's no big deal. I've managed to get it working by manually adding the x, y, z entries for all eleven stations ... I hope that's all of them :) hehe. Anyway it seems ok now.
