 of course ... Yeah I remember when they shut down the pilots lounge for IL2 on the UBI boards then someone came up with I think it was called "Pilots lounge Reloaded" .. then a little while later it became "Complete Waist of Space".
-
Hehe I was gonna post that as I read this post .. I too forget about the Chit Chat forum even though I've have several threads moved there.. but I think if more people actually scrolled down and recognized that its an off topic lounge then we would get some interesting topics posted.. PS. Does anyone know if CWAS is still up and running? That really is the Off Topic Flightsim forum to end all OF forums ;)

Great to see you and your site back online  .

:noexpression: hehe his analogy is quite correct.

Well if I'm carrying ECM pods then I'll turn them on, when engaging an enemy, until I burn through and then I'll fire and immediately stop jamming. Your ECM can work against you if you just leave them on as part of your start up procedure :smilewink: so just remeber how sneaky an HOJ shot against you can be.

Just finished all the training and I have to say I was impressed with the Blackhawk and the Cobra but as D-Scythe said, "a flightsim it aint" :smilewink: . IMO after mastering FS9 helicopters I would say they fly realistically enough for what the sim intended them for and for me the choppers were beyond ez to fly but considering the amount of helicopter crashes I was in last night then as a passenger I would say "thus far and no further" when it comes to the FM's. Now as for the Avionics; well arcade best describes it but as an infantry combat sim which is what I bought it for then I would say so far its pretty hard to beat. I can tell you IMO it blows GRAW away and its only real rival is Americas Army but AA focuses on a different aspect of combat so you would have to play both AA and ArmA.

I had a similar problem with Gmail, something got corrupted but once I cleared my Cache, browsing history, Authenticated sessions everything went back to normal.

Ah just had a thought .. are you blocking cookies.. with a higher than medium security setting?

I just tried it with IE 7 ..and it worked perfect .. but what and ugly and awkward browser  .. do yourself a favor and get Firefox and most the problems just go away. :)
-
.. not where I'm from LOL .. and No, no wife to beat :smilewink: . I haven't done any flying yet I just did the training for the infantry and jumped online :D I'll finish the rest of the training today and thx Ice I'll check that out. Amazon.co.uk is selling ArmA with a %33 discount  but you could also do what I did and play the online demo before making your mind up on whether or not to purchase. Here I am online getting a lift on a little bird. ..now i feel like flying jets in lockon hehe :)

Who plays online and who does not.
Cosmonaut replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
For the first year and a bit I only played online, even to test out skins I would jump online for a few minutes. But the lack of mission based flying gets a little repetitive and I realized that I was only seeing about 20% of what this sim had to offer. Now I play about 70% offline and 30% online. Note to Dev's; please can the online component get some well needed upgrades :notworthy: . Going online isn't a big deal just know the basics like how to start your engines, how your radar works ohh and most importantly IFF. The learning curve is about the same as any other game you play online. Meaning that you'll be able to beat up on AI but a human opponent wont be so predictable and it will take a few sessions before you have a good grasp of whats going on. If you've ever played a first person shooter online then remember how it was the first time. Some are insanely good and things seem to move so fast that before you know it you're either dead for that round or waiting to respawn. Just stick with it and don't build it up in your mind and you'll do fine. -
Been there, done that :smilewink: .

Building the K-36D Ejection Seat.
Cosmonaut replied to Triggerhappy69's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Nice work on that seat  If I was gonna to build one it would be the K36 as well. How comfortable are they IRL? WOW @ that panel ..!!:D Will those gauges actually work? -
Nice JaNk0  finally some more girls :smilewink: .. Ah Jessica Alba ...Yummy, Yummy she's had a home on my desk top on more than one occasion. Nahh.. although I do have an OS X patched theme installed ;) .

I have windows minimizing to the dock as well! :) Also if like me you never use your desktop to store any files on then you could just right click on the desk top then point to "Arrange Icons by" and uncheck "Show Desktop Icons".

Online from time to time you can expect all kinds of one off anomalies, once I even spawned as a ship, however if the problem is non repeating and for the most part you have trouble free play then I wouldn't worry about it.

For a moment I thought you were talking about the 120 smokeless motor hehe:doh: I and many others have mentioned this before, hopefully a faint smoke trail can be added before BS is released. You just don't get the same satisfaction when firing a missile unless its smoking :smoke: .

No doubt about it there is a visual distance issue with the Mig29 and the F18 for sure, maybe a few others too. It's always been like that for the Hornet but I cant really say with any certainty if it was any different for the Mig in previous patches. This shouldn't be too hard to fix either but this has been brought up many times before and nothings been done so far. However if you think it's bad now then back when LO was first released it was impossible to see anything, I started a thread back in Jan 2004 regarding visual distances for aircraft/ ground units and it gained enough momentum that we got things changed by the time the next patch was released (1.02) :D . Oddly enough I checked my archives and the thread still exists :) . http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=439103961&p=1 Page 5 is where we get an official response from Wags who was then working for UBI then pages 7 and 8 is where we get conformation from Stormin that the problem had been improved greatly. Hopefully we can get the same efficiency with regards to the Mig29 and F18 as well :smilewink: . Yep I totally agree, it can be really irritating at times when objects are easier to see at a distance then disappear when close up  .

@ JaNk0, that's called rocket dock, its free and you can get it here; http://www.punksoftware.com/ And the theme I'm running is a patched visual style for Windows Xp.
