  1. Ok I figured out what's been going on and I've just spent over an hour fixing it and running some tests: After installing the new F15 the meinit.xml file went from 1.71mb to 1.37mb. I haven't a clue why this happened but I managed to copy and paste the relevant color scheme texts and Pylon X, Y and Z entires over to the original meinit.xml (1.71mb) file. After that I ran a few tracks and flew a couple of missions and everything seems to be working again with missile accuracy back to normal. The missile accuracy was only down about 10 to 15 percent, hardly noticeable but thankfully its working fine now. I have noticed two position anomalies that I'd like to look into .. no big deal but if someone that has Walmis's F15 installed with an meinit.xml file that's 1.71mb then I would really appreciate it if you could send me your meinit.xml (1.71mb) file. You can upload it here; http://www.filewind.com/ then just post the link. Thanks.
  2. Main mission goal for Rafale's and Mirages; Burn as much fuel as possible. :smilewink: http://membres.lycos.fr/fbfrfr2000/hpbimg/Aircraft%20-%20FRENCH%20-%20Mirage%202000-5%20-%202.jpg http://membres.lycos.fr/fbfrfr2000/hpbimg/Rafale_27.jpg They must have the largest fuel tanks compared to their size and weapons load than any other fighter. :pilotfly:
  3. It does alter the meinit.xml but I think it just adds the relevant lines to file rather than just swap it out. Anyway it must be on my end seeing as I'm the only one with the problem.. I'll have to try a few things and see if I can get around this issue :noexpression:
  4. I shoot higher or level with the bandit then get lower, maybe 1000m to 2000m below the target. This will increase your chances of maintaining a lock until your missile goes active or hits the target.
  5. It's always set to the default 50%.
  6. I've noticed that tracks made before I installed Walmis's F15 don't seem to work, meaning my missiles miss and I get shot down in the track. Also tracks made while I have had the new Eagle installed don't work once I uninstall the addon. Has anyone else noticed this and what could be the cause? I have recently formated and with a clean 1.12a I ran a few tracks I thought had broken but they worked perfectly, however once I installed the new F15 it all fell apart again. After that I decided to fly a few F15 missions and I think with out the mod my missiles seemed too hit more accurately. Here's one track I made a while ago before there was a new Eagle to install and with out the mod it works but with the new 3D model installed my missiles miss and I get shot down. http://forum.lockon.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=5086&d=1142879156 Is anyone else experiencing this or is the problem on my end? Either way I cant figure out why installing the new Eagle would cause any problems with previously made track files or missile accuracy.
  7. Never heard of this before, looks pretty cool; Ansat-2RC, at first I thought it was a military version of the EC120. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that's what I call a radar :P http://www.richard-seaman.com/Aircraft/AirShows/Maks2005/Helicopters/Ka31Helix1oClock.jpg
  8. I had a go at this and it took me an hour to figure out a good tactic that would get mission complete and also save my wingman. What I did was to use my wingy to engage the A-50 while I took out the two Su27's. The trick is to get your wingman in close enough and then release him at right moment then you've got to get the Su27 that'll be gunning for him too. The problem is that even though the F15 is a great force multiplier the refresh rate of the TWS cant keep up with Sukhoi's once they start loosing altitude so you'll most likely only have one shot in TWS before you go STT or bore site mode. Once you've taken out the Su27's then, hopefully, your wingman will radio "Bandit destroyed" and then it's time to reel him in before he gets too deep inland and sams start launching. The Mig29A's are no match for the Eagle so just take them down anyway you want, although I would suggest using your Aim7's, saving your Amraam's for the Su27's. Just be efficient and don't waist too much time with them. I chose to engage one while letting my wingman get the second. Here's a track but it's 1.12a. F15 Awacs
  9. On his birthday?!? :smilewink: I think what you both meant to say was "make sure you cant remember what happened" :D hehe just blame it on the booze :drunk: Happy B-day :yay:
  10. Here's some info that you may find helpful. http://tomshardware.co.uk/2007/01/10/agp-platform-analysis-uk/page5.html#futuremark_3dmark http://tomshardware.co.uk/2007/01/10/agp-platform-analysis-uk/ Bang for your buck the 7600's are the best but if you can swing some extra cash then the AGP Radeon X1950 PRO would be well worth it.
  11. I think that a GC may increase the life of his PC for at least another year depending on what games he actually plays. I was in a similar situation and chose to buy a 7600GT and its like a different sim now. I personally would wait at least a year before spending a lot of money building a new system or on major upgrades.. at least until Vitsa and Dx10 has time to bed in anyway.
  12. You can get an AGP 7600GT I have one ;) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-088-LT http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-046-GW I don't know anything about the ATI X800XTPE but I think the best AGP GC you can get right now is the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-071-HT
  13. If you're going to get the 7600 then get the GT version. I got one a few months ago and it works great for what I payed for it. Check out my post:http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=19607&highlight=7600GT I now run with Shadows set to full and 4XAA/ 4XAF. My system specs are 2.5 OC to 3.0 Ghz (I maybe able to increase that once I get a new power unit to 3.2), 1gig ram and 7600GT.
  14. Welcome  Check out this thread: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=21008
  15. I play about 2 to 4 hours a week mostly on the week ends. Sometimes a session can last an hour and a half or just 20 to 30 minutes.
  16. The forums go down and then my PC starts acting up .. Thought i lost my HD today but the scan didn't show any damaged sectors so I now think it might be the power unit... why am I even mentioning this :joystick: Anyway glad everything here is back to normal.
  17. Where can I find that sound pack? I had a look on lockonfiles but I couldn't find it there. Thx :)
  18. At least you get to see the K36 ejection seat in action.. :smilewink:
  19. I don't use any sound packs so I cant help you with that but here's the MOD's that I install first. MiG-29 Cockpit gauges http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=204&ttitle=MiG-29_Cockpit_gauges#dldetails MiG-29 FULCRUM Cockpit Mod http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=205&ttitle=MiG-29_FULCRUM_Cockpit_Mod#dldetails Su-25 Cockpit Gauges http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=210&ttitle=Su-25_Cockpit_Gauges#dldetails Su-27 Cockpit gauges http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=213&ttitle=Su-27_Cockpit_gauges#dldetails Su-27 FLANKER Cockpit Mod http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=212&ttitle=Su-27_FLANKER_Cockpit_Mod#dldetails Note; With the Su27 and Mig29 Cockpit Mod's you should install using the file by file mode in Modman if you don't want to use the jumpsuit (leg) textures and Cockpit reflections. Here's a few more; http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=8025&highlight=hud+color http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7626&highlight=hud+color http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7706&highlight=hud+color http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=18688&highlight=FV+marks%26amp%3Bnumbers
  20. Do you mean skins for any aircraft? If so then Section 7 of my Tut covers this. To answer your question you can only create new slots for aircraft models that are in the .lom format. So for the Su25T and Walmis's new F15 you can.
  21. Not at all :) If you want to upload skin packages to make it easier for others then I'm sure it will be appreciated. It would be nice if you could ask the person who made the files first if they minded you making such packs as they might have updates or other info they would like you to add to the package.
  22. My CDDS Tutorial too :smilewink:
  23. As has been said unfortunately you can't create more slots if the model file is in the older .cmd format. You can create a .CDDS file for the 2 skins that are already there; the error you are getting could be for a number of reasons. Are the .bmp files 24bit or lower? If they are 32bit then it wont work.. also if you have any gaps in the file path to the folder with your new textures then that also wont work. Have a look at my tut, link in my sig, and see if it helps.
  24. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) make the rules and they are the ones that produce the ETOPS guide lines. I'm not sure what the situation is for four engine aircraft but I assume if one engine is lost at a certain point during the route then the pilot would be within the guidelines to continue his journey with the remaining three engines. Although if you loose an engine at take off then you should land as soon as possible. The manufacturers say the aircraft can fly with less than four engines but they don't say it can commute with less than four. The FAA ETOPS (Extended-range Twin-engine Operations) has recently been changed to basically say that twin engines jetliners are just as safe as jets with three or four engines. The new ruling for twin engine airliners is basically that they can now fly routes where nearest airport is as far as five and a half hours away. This is one of the reasons why my argument for twin engine strike/ fighters doesn't have anything to do with safety in regards to reliability but more on the side of battle damage for aircraft flying under 10K. I just found the story on the BBC website; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5377304.stm
  25. I'm not sure about the very old 747's but the 400 series can fly with just 3 engines. I think it was last year when a BA 744 lost an Engine on take off while on route from LA (US) to London (UK) and the pilot chose to continue the flight. He didn't make it to London having to land in Manchester because he ran out of fuel but it did make it across the Atlantic. BA patted the pilot on the back for saving them £100 000 but I think the FAA slapped a fine on them using the top gun line "what you should have done was land your plane" ;) I have to say i agree with FAA.
