  1. Wow, that some gap between the throttle sticks. Hook it up and tell us if EAC works. :) What does the pinky lever do? Don't remember from the manual. So, we need some video of you flying with this and using the switches. Oh, and don't forget pictures of the rudder pedals....
  2. Just picked up a LD220Z samsung touch refurb for $149 shipped. Will probably arrive in pieces but if not I can still pick up the mfds and be in budget.
  3. Hassata: I wanted the MFDs so the touch would not be cluttered with them when Helios comes out since I will only have a single touch and not 3 like they have in their videos. But, then again, I guess a touch is close to the same cost as the MFDs plus screens and does more. I have around $500 to spend and want to be as efficient as possible but upgradeable when tax returns come around in 6 months. Helios is not out though, so at this point a touch does not help me with virtual cockpit, only allows me to not use a mouse anymore. The MFDs would allow me to not have to zoom in and look only at the MFDs in game but that is all. Kuky: Were those test with just a single card? I have a spare 7600gt 512mb I guess I could use to power the MFDs since they dont seem to respond to good cards. That would free my 4890 to just run the main monitor.
  4. Yeah, that is what I want. A large touchscreen main monitor. I have a 22" now, non touch. I guess I could actually use that as a hud only and buy another 22" touch for gauges below. Then stick the 2 MFD screens next to that screen. Until helios comes out I could use the touch as my main monitor getting rid of the mouse at least, then when helios is ready, put my 22" back as hud only view. This is what I want in the end anyway. I want a hud only view, the only thing I dislike about it is lack of structure impairing vision like IRL. But if it gets me 10FPS which I really need at times, I can manage. Do you have a link to the monitors you have or the 8" versions? Probably need to start with them and the MFDs. What is the size of those MFDs outside? How thick is the button bezel? Would like to see if I could use my 15" for now and only have to purchase the MFDs. That could allow me to get a touch screen first.
  5. That setup will be awesome if Helios allows you to get all your switches and gauges into some touch screens. I would love to have a front and two side touch screens. Then 2 MFD and a main monitor with the hud only view. Very similar to yours and way out of my reach. Thinking of getting a touch screen main monitor so I can ditch the mouse. Then with 2 mfd I would be pretty well off. Have to look around the cockpit for switches to touch so MFD would be duplicated still, but would be less zooming in and out since I would no longer need to get close to see them. What are your monitors behind the MFDs?
  6. Ok, if someone can help please. Some of my tanks do attack, some do not. Only with guns also. I know I have been blasted by tank cannons in BS. They all have the same ROE, weapons free, open fire. Still have to tweak the good guy helo flights as they were running in before the ship was destroyed. I set a trigger to activate when the battleship is dead, but how do I make them spawn and activate instantly after battleship is destroyed? I made it over 25 minutes into the mission before a game crash. It crashed when I left F10 mode and went to F2 to see some action. I do not think its a programming issue, I think it may be a lack of hardware (in sig) causing crashes. Seems to happen at explosions. How can I determine that? Is there a report I can run after a crash? The trk is not generated when I crash back to the debriefing screen. Anyway, attaching newest mission version. Edit: Made some more changes and still can not figure out how to make the helo flights hold till the battleship is destroyed. I read in the BS manual about a hold time, but do not see where that is in the A10 Editor. I think that is the last of my programming issues. Then to figure out what hardware I need to be able to run this mission without crashing. I have 2 empty ram slots if that will help. For the next part of the campaign I will be scaling down the action. This is just a brutal opening battle.
  7. Turn EAC on. I believe it only works with the keyboard command in this beta though. Then just press 1 and you will fly straight and level. You can press 2,3,4 for the different modes. 1 turns AP on and off. Its that simple.
  8. Those pedals look nice and wide. What brand are they? I love how simple your cockpit is, but how much more immersive it is. Now you just need 2 monitor stands and two touch screens and you are ready for helios.
  9. Rotors flex in bs. Not sure if it's scripted per situation or flight modeling. If the rotors have lift calculations then it should be in the engine to allow the a10 wings to bend as they generate lift.
  10. I would bet anything you have for the desktop will be magnitudes faster than real life. So for realism 5ms is probably too fast already.
  11. 5ms should be plenty fast. I may have to try the mfds around my 19" ws.
  12. AA mission stuck for me too. Will have to try out the tips mentioned.
  13. Yup, figured out triggers I think. Did not do a flag though. I put a trigger that if drone is dead, group deactivates. Not sure what that does though, sounded good. :) If the Havoks get airborne they are fine. Idea is that taking out the drone kills the flight before the pilots can get in them. I put in the mission goals but now the mission is broken again and cant get to the 45 minute mark when the havok are supposed to spawn. Not sure what I broke this time. Getting frustrating though. :) Will attach if you want to try it again. At least one person is testing it for me. :) Bed time, more work tomorrow I guess. Learning the editor has taken me longer than learning the Jet. :doh: Edit:removed mission

  16. Okay, still working for me after a few changes and a german tornado taking out the battleship. Now question. I have a new Havok flight to depart at 45 minutes after start. I also placed a stationary one where they will spawn. I want the drone to be the target and if destroyed the actual havok flight would not spawn. This is plus the destruction of all forces will constitute a victory. This will be a long mission with a few rearms possibly. The hardest part will be rounding up the moving convoys if they get away. Attached file is pretty much finished I think. Just need to know how to designate targets for mission success.
  17. The HIND are destroying any Fighter CAP, and the apache and cobras I send against them in all my times watching. Switched to an F15C and it was only able to take down one before they took him down. I originally had some anti ship a/c but the ships usually shredded the missiles 75% of the time, so it would still be little vs the battleship. I am going to keep tweaking it, and maybe get some anti ship to come in. Then player would need to set up and be ready to attack when the ship is taken down, and possibly if not. I have tweaked it since the one you got. Predator now attacks. I have it bombing a name now, so its doing its job.
  18. Yeah, need to get him higher. Even when he doesn't shoot them into the ground the HIND can avoid just about every missile. Then the HIND take out the tomcat with their missiles!!! Predator does not attack his target for some reason and will not land. Pulls out at the last second for some reason. F4 flight did take out the Ka50 left over which were just loitering for some reason not attacking either. Then the F4 went home without attacking their main mission. Must have been bingo or something. Will move them to a closer airport I guess. No one is able to take out the battleship, so I am going to make that my mission somehow. Not sure if 6 mav will take one out, but going to try.
  19. I just added my predator back because I thought it was causing a crash too. Now the mission worked. I went in and double checked all the actions and deleted some of the generic CAS or whatever actions and just kept my attack target actions. Seems to have worked. Not sure why my tanks just sit and get picked off by the HIND though. AAA does not attack either. Thanks for trying it out. I played your gauntlet and got lucky enough to get through all the AAA once. But, missed the target with rockets and barely made it out of the canyon to get home. The last couple SAM got me and took out half a wing. Made it back and landed though. TRK file says differently now. Not sure why that happens. Here is the version that worked for me the first time. Going to let it run again to see what happens. Then if it works I may try to actually fly the mission instead of watching.
  20. Will check actions, but I think they were all completed statements. I only know how to pick the drop downs and select units and groups. No idea how the conditions work or how to write lua expressions.
  21. Check the GUI manual for BS. It has some info in there about the record AVI. 24fps is more than enough for a fluid movie I would think.

  23. Anyone who wants to try my mission and tell me if it crashes your system? It is still VERY much a WIP but I like having a bunch of stuff going on, not just the stuff that pertains to my A10 mission. But, all I have been able to program in so far is the immediate A10 aspect and it keeps crashing a few minutes in. I have staggered starts for units but something keeps killing it. Not at the same time every time I load it either. Not sure if there is a bug in an object, or a bug in a certain action. Or, maybe its just my machine dieing because it does not have enough ram or something. Anyway, here it is if you would like to try it on your machine. Maybe give some pointers on how to improve it as well. This is just the first mission of the campaign, but cant get through it even. I have removed half of the ground forces and nothing has changed.   24. The AC-130 is the weapons boat, not the C-130. Not sure but think it only has defensive countermeasures. AC-130 could be cool though. Fly to target zone and set the plane into orbit with trim or autopilot. Then switch to the gunner stations and start raining hell. Then when you see a sam launch or something, switch back to driver and GTFO of dodge. May get boring doing the same mission every time.
  25. Nice to see that real hog pilots fly in the stall warning threshold also. I thought I was being too rough with the stick. Wish a mod was not necessary to make better sounds in just about every game ever released.
