I'll add to this. DCS:BS works fine, menus and everything with eyefinity, but FC2 is off-set and messed up. Strange how it's broken but BS is fine.

I wonder how hard it would be to program something like this to run across wifi onto an ipad? Touchscreen MFD, sell it in the app store for a few bucks, I'd drop $5-10 on it once I get an ipad.
-
I agree, but the only issue is that the mode switch can't be programmed in the game.
-
I usually use the thumb wheel on the stick for that. Center position Nav, up for AA and down for AG
-
I've always programmed over the clutch, didn't even think about that. I believe I can assign the clutch to any button on the stick/throttle, maybe I'll setup on of the MFD buttons on the throttle as I never use that to the clutch.

what I do now. Just wondering if there was a setting I could change to have a more eloquent solution.

As this game has multiple settings for multiple aircraft I would like to create aircraft specific profiles for my X-52. Now to switch the profiles I need acess to the desktop. I wonder is there a way to setup so the main GUI is in a window, but when you click to fly and go to the simulation program ( my understanding they are 2 different processes ) it will load up in full screen? So far playing around with the ingame settings I can only get window/fullscreen for both at the same time.

What you are seeing is what is an often used compramise in flight sims. The fact that the field of view is much lower on a computer screen means that you have to sit lower in the cockpit to see the instruments while looking out. I hope that makes sense to you.

any chance these scripts would work in the single player world?

Love it, really makes flying fun. Any possibility to have it ramp up the size of the missions as an option? Would love to be 1 of 3 or 4 missions going at the same time all with packages. Would really help with getting rid of the feeling the whole world is focused on me. I understand that the larger the mission, the slower it runs, but many of us now have rigs that we could only dream of when LOMAC was released. Would love flying a sweep for a strike package while there are a few other missions playing out as well on both sides. I know the compramise would be that the other missions would be pure fluff for the actual advancement for the campaign as only my results would count, but it would really add atmosphere.

was confused because it worked fine in one part of the sim, but not another.
-
that did it, turning off FF made it work. Damn and I had a nice set of screenshots showing all of my settings and how it was working in the tutorial and not the missions. Such a stupid little thing. At least now I won't give up on flying the damn thing so quickly :) Thanks everyone for the help.

verified again, 'use these options' is checked. Openned up the Altitude mission itself. It is set to real flight. No idea why trim will not work.
-
I also have hover hold mapped to the 'c' button. It works in both the tutorial and regular missions. Why would trim not work? Even the default mapping of 't' isn't working verified by the controller window.
-
I remapped trim to the A button on my stick. It works in the tutorial mission. In the mission neither the stick remap or the default 't' button works. :notify: double checked my profiles. Both the 't' and button are mapped to trim in them, but they don't work in the missions.

Double checked my settings. Controls are set for Real KA-50, in gameplay easy flight is ticked off. When I start up the tutorial mission for hover I take control right away. While sitting on the tarmac with collective at idle I open up the controller box. If I tilt the cyclic in any direction and hit trim either on my stick or with 't' on the keyboard it holds the cyclic position. Now I start up any mission from the mission screen, let's say Altitude (or Alttitude I forget) and sit on the pad with the engines going. Do the same, collective at idle, tilt the cyclic forward and hit trim, either on stick or keyboard and it will not set. WTF? edit, autopilot is engaged for all 3 axis as well for both missions.
-
just did a quick test with the controller window open. Open tutorial mission and I press trim (mapped to button A on my X52) and it works. In the regular mission press trim and it doesn't.

Just trying to learn how to fly the damn thing; if I take over a tutorial mission I can fly alright, trim works, hover hold works, etc. Now I created a practice mission in th editor by placing a player controlled KA-50 on the runway. Start up the mission and the engines are up and running and ready to go. Now if I try to take off it's like trying to balance a beachball on a pole, I'm all over the place, I hit trim and the bird pitches up as soon as I let go of the stick, hover hold doesn't work etc. What setting am I missing in the cockpit that the tutorials have on that is off when you start on the runway as I feel this will probably be important once I try to fly and fight in missions :joystick:

Getting back into flying after a year or so and have to reprogram my stick. What I would love to do is have my mouse control TDC function while in the cockpit and the viewpoint in external view. not sure how to go about this. I know you can program for individual modes, ie A-G, Nav, etc, but I would like to be able to go to external and watch my handywork dropping iron without switching back to nav if possible. I don't think it is possible, but I wonder if some of the big brains that have been flying have found a workaround.

how do you make sure that the debrief is saved and in the log book? I've had hit and miss on this and don't know the relyable steps so that the stats are added up. Do I have to save the mission once it is complete for the log book to log it?
-
anyone ever build a practice range for the SU-25T?

My only saving grace right now

I'll be looking into a touchscreen. Just have sneak it past the GF :D

I feel ashamed that my realism internet wang isn't as big as yours :music_whistling:
